I got the new Elite Usos, Solo, and the Hogan 3-pack and even though they all have ball joints in the hips, they are stiff as all heck. The Hogans I can move ok, but the legs sort of snap into place either all the way forward or in standing position, but there’s not much between those two positions. It’s kind of like the ratchet hips on Marvel Legends except you can only position the legs at 180 degrees or 90 degrees.
And the Usos and Solo. Man oh man are those stiff. They are almost impossible to bend the legs. Especially Solo. Solo’s hips I have to slide in place like they’re the new Ultimate drop down hips, but they’re ball joints. It’s really weird. I can get the right leg to move forward if I slide the hip into just the proper place, but the left leg barely moves. The playability is drastically reduced because I have trouble posing their legs.
I look at older figures with ball joints like tights and pants HBK, X-Pac, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns and I can move their legs in any position with ease. So what’s the deal with these new figures? Does anyone else have this issue with the new Elites or did I just get bad luck with 6 different figures?
Update: I fixed the problem by repeatedly moving the legs upward until the hip joint ground away enough plastic that the hip joints could move more freely. It took a few hours collectively over a couple days. Put on a movie or something and start working those hips.

I don’t have the new Uso’s or Solo figures, but I do have two of the Hogan 3-Packs and they don’t have any of the issues you are describing.

Yeah the last order I received from ringside, none of the hips moves. 107 Sami, Gable, Solo, and Cody top picks. I tried the heat trick and it worked....for like 20 minutes. Then they reverted back to statues. I did the heat thing a second time and worked the joints longer and they are pretty good now. My Balor 107 just shipped with Logan Paul (order was held up for Keith Lee, Swerve and Kaiser back order) im sure Balor and Paul won't move either.

Did you use a hair dryer or boiling water?

I had this same problem with Top Picks Cody (Red gear), E106 Gable, Top Picks Logan Paul, and to a lesser extent E107 Solo. Very weird, hot water did not help anyone them. Gable also has extremely stiff knees.

My 107 Solo is so stiff I can barely adjust the legs to get him to stand.
In contrast, my Ultimate Rock’s head peg was so loose I had to buy a replacement. I guess it’s just luck?

Ok, here’s an update. I actually resolved the issue. I fixed it by moving the legs upward over and over again for actual hours off and on over the last 2 days. I think it ground away enough plastic in the socket to allow movement. And I know it was grinding away plastic because I could see plastic dust around the hip joints that wasn’t there before. Yikes.

I just opened Solo I got from Amazon and no stiffness in the legs but his right shoulder won't go down all the way and needed some heat to fix. I've been noticing this with a lot of figures lately. Normally they loosen with some moving but lately there just stuck. My biggest issue with him are those feet. That suckers got some long toes. Lol

The ball joint now has a groove creating a rachet style movement, I had this with the elite gable and everytime I heated the leg as soon as it cooled down it went really stiff again, I ended up popping the legs off shaving down the excess on the ballpoint, while I was doing that I popped the legs onto a random aew figure as they are slightly larger, popped back onto the elite and was fine

Yeah my Elite 107 Sami and Uso figures are stiff as hell. The legs don't move at all. I felt like I was going to break the Sami trying to get his left leg to move. Then I yanked on it, it made a cracking noise, and now it's loose. Good thing I just bought it for the head and shirt. I have Solo, Otis, and Gable but I haven't opened them yet because I don't have anywhere to put them right now. I have the new Finn too but at least he moves. I can definitely see where the notion of them being a new form of ratchet joint comes from though, the legs are either up or down and everything in between is questionable.

They've changed the ball joints, they're no longer smooth and now they have molding on them similar to the ratchet joints. It's a nightmare as the legs feel like they'll break with any slight movement now.

I think I know what you mean, the hips are kind of stiff. I moved my Hogan’s legs and the top piece feels like it’s going to snap if I put enough force on it.

I didn’t realize this was such a prevalent issue. Did nobody test this out during the development stage? It’s going to make me pass on new figures until they improve this.

I received the newest Solo (107?) from Amazon the other day and it doesn’t have any issues either.

they spend all this time and effort into the hip joints (which rarely had problems)....yet they're still using the same foot & ankle molds from 2010 that are HORRENDOUS

Both usos are incredibly stiff and the hair on jimmy is infuriating love the direction these are going 👌

I apply a little shock oil to the hips, and usually the shoulders too, and that helps quite a bit.

Yeah, my Hogan 3-pack also has this issue. Never had it with ball joints before.
