absolutely. i have a pretty large collection of "current" talent...including figures of guys who have since been released, but were current at the time of buying them. WWE is fantastic, the product has been getting better and better, the storylines are great, and then in-ring talent is the best it's ever been.
There's a lot of great looking figures and current talent have awesome outfits. I actually want MORE current talent than we're getting.

I usually only collect current guys (current is like 2004/5- to now) but absolutely love most of the early 90s (up to 1996) because I started watching on VHS from my older brother. I usually only get 1 or 2 figures of the same person unless it's someone like Cena/Taker/Punk. Will totally try to get all Gunther figures though! Really excited to complete The Judgement Day for example, but never bought a Kevin Owens figure. After hearing that the upcoming BAF Sami would be in War Games gear I decided to sell the 106 Sami and wait for the other. There are just too many figures and characters to keep all of them. I am a hardcore collector of Sami and Kevin figures. They're my entire thing right now. Elite 106 Sami got bought once, used for parts, and what is left is currently just tossed on the corner of my desk. Worst Sami figure ever. Even worse than 102. The only truly, out-of-the-box redeemable thing about it is the shirt, which is lovely. Even the headsculpt is marred by horrid paint apps. But at least I bought it. I didn't even bother with SvS Kevin Owens. I pray that the Ultimates and upcoming WarGames figures are decent but the way that they keep waiting until the figures ship to show images is NOT instilling me with much confidence.

I’ve kept my roster pretty up to date, but I’m thinking this will be my last hurrah. I think I got soured with all the pandemic talent releases and even some pre-pandemic talents leaving like Jericho, Ambrose, the Revival, etc. But the wrestlers getting fired or leaving in 2020 and beyond made it so much worse. I’m not interested at all in NXT post-Undisputed Era, so when NXT 2.0 wrestlers get called up, I just don’t care about them. Maybe that will change on the main roster, but it hasn’t so far except for Imperium.
I think I’m going to keep my most current roster updated to 2023 and go no further barring some really cool gimmick change that I like a lot.

Like others my wrestling days were over when most of the big names left the wwf. That split as great as it was for competitors is why we have such a split up fanbase today. It was the biggest mistake those wrestlers made and for little gain. Some of them got a few more minutes in the limelight but it completely changed in my view how the wwe operated. They had a lot of influence backstage and with that power vacuum came a new set of guys who did things differently. The fun comedic attires and bits were replaced with nothing but violence that eventually just got out of hand. I would have taken my kid to see hulk hogan wrestle but not for a ladder match with chains, tables and chairs. This was supposed to be fun entertainment for the entire family. They took the kid friendly aspect out of it and made it a bloodsport to compete with the ufc. Today i look at the wwe and see nothing but t&a. Sign of the times. They have sexualized it too much imo. They could have taken all 3 aspects that make viewers turn the channel on but to this day (from what i see) they still have not brought back the fun that made you laugh and be entertained. I have said it before. They try too hard to be realistic and compete with the ufc. Just do your own thing and do what made you popular. Bring back managers, star cameos, and great characters like brother love, the genius, bobby heenan, jimmy hart, slick, jesse ventura, piper, macho, sensational sherrry, rick rude, sean michaels, akeem, and add in heels who take a good flop like hhh, rick flair, greg valentine, and givem entrance gear with robes and a crown and bring them to the ring on a chariot. Try to take technology out of it. No flying in. No pyrotechnics, no driving in with an electric vehicle. Go back to your roots. The wwe didnt stop being popular because it lacked those things. No. People loved the way it was. They could still do that today If they just took some time and played the long game. Just go out and find guys with charisma (superfans) who loved the history of the golden age of the wwf, like the miz to help shape those new wrestlers.
Anyways till that happens ill stick with the old school guys. I do like cody though. Hoping he can create a new era if they could just come up with new ideas (instead of a new goldust - like they have done with hollyweird movies) I personally would like to see more foreign wrestlers and big guys. Bring back the monsters. They wont find another giant but there are plenty of earthquakes out there. Kids love that.
Also from what i see most of the guys wrestling today See it as a job. Back then it was a way of life. This is how bodybuilders view things too. Not hard to understand why many of those old school wrestlers who were also bodybuilders would view things the same. Anyways the focus today is on the women and thats great but that is not why kids started watching this growing up. They are there for the matches so they can reenact it at home on an air mattress. Kids were not asking for miss elizabeth dolls...no they were buying hulk hogan action figures. I get it dei. But again if the old school guys want to tune in its not to watch girls fight in bikinis. I could see that anywhere today on yt. Bring back thw comedic aspect and more people will be buying modern action figures.

At this point, with space becoming an issue, I’m just about down to only grabbing new Hogans, Warriors, UE Legends/CC, and FTITL Legends.

I collect one of everyone, but modern wrestlers i dont go after duplicates unless thetes a huge change in gimmick/attire. Like NXT sammi and Conspiracy theory Sammi and Bloodline Sammi. But KO, just one since the attire do3snt change much. But legends i go ham on because it was my viewing years.

My son watches now, so I got him a little collection of the guys he likes and then their main opponents. I'm more inclined to buy modern guys for him than myself but some of it I've doubled up on.
I have one detolf square dedicated to this era and it's largely just reserved for top guys/Ultimates. It's about 2/3 full with no duplicate characters. This way when new stuff comes out it forces me to decide if it's worth swapping out the one I have for a new one. Some of it is moment based. Like, I can't see myself ever swapping out that Mania 38 KO elite since he faced Austin. But conversely, I know the Gunther in there is a place holder. Just depends, but I'm trying not grow beyond the shelf, especially with someone I won't want 6-12 months down the road.

Not really but every once in a while (like Gunther or UE Asuka) i'll definitely grab. But mostly stay away from current figures since they change constantly and sometimes they're long past that era once they're released so why bother.

Just flashbacks, stopped watching all current product sometime in the mid 2000's and never got back into any modern wrestling from any promotion. I do wonder specifically, are there many others that still love old wrestling but don't watch anything modern? Or am I slim minority? Same here, I'm on youtube watching all the old ppvs from the late 80's-90's (shout out to OSW review). Couldn't tell ya one storyline from today's product accept Roman and cody
