Do you collect current roster figures?

Here's the thing(s) about Elite 106 Sami.

First of all, the headsculpt is pefection. The SCULPT. Unfortunately, the paint apps on it are horrid. They painted his beard much darker than his hair (rather than the other way around) and on top of that, the facial hair around his mouth is somehow darker than the REST of his beard. The combination looks like something out of a 1980s cop show.

The other major fault is the pants. They used the cargo pants mold and just left the belt black. He wore neither cargo pants nor a belt in February 2023, and his pants in general were nowhere near that baggy. It was a parts reuse that is egregious, especially because they didn't even pretend that it was accurate, again, they literally just didn't paint the sculpted belt part in the hopes nobody would notice or care.

On top of that, the biggest fault from the cargo pants mold from the get go is that the boots are too big. For some reason, when they made those pants, they made the boots much bigger to compensate.

AND, the cherry on top, there is only ONE Sami Zayn figure to have his new wrist tape since he started wearing the high wrist tape, and it's a BASIC. And that basic came out *before* this.

The whole figure, outside of the physical mold for the head and the lovely cloth goods shirt, is WOEFULLY lazy. Like they just wanted to make a Sami figure to make a Sami figure and didn't even care if it was accurate or not.

I know a lot of people think it's a great figure but I am very passionate about Sami Zayn and his figures and, funny thing, once I did some customization work on the Elite 102 Sami, I came around on it. Do a bit of repainting of his head, give him the proper wrist tape, and a wash on the hair, and he's actually not half bad. I'm proud to display him on my shelf now.

But you can't fix the Elite 106 Sami. Best you can do is steal his shirt and head, repaint the head, and use them both for other figures.

(I feel the same way about the Survivor Series Kevin Owens btw. The amount of missing deco on it is horrible and inexcusable, especially because they have multiple figures out with the CORRECT details already made. And, due to the way the tattoos are printed on his left arm, you can't fixup the figure to salvage it without torso cracking, which means cutting the shirt off, at which point, just swap the shirt onto an Elite 102 Kevin and then swap out the legs for the previous ones with the correct deco. But since I already had a custom I made with a cloth goods shirt, there was no point to even getting the SvS one when I would gain no useable parts from him at all, and I would never display him as is.)

Legends only, except for a Stonecold or Rock, the big names.

Yes, but only top guys. I don’t watch the current product, but I do feel the need to keep up with collecting the main people.

That a no for me. Mostly only collect wrestlers from 82-92. A few late 90’s here and there. Only time I bought more modern wrestlers was when one of my kids was younger and he was into wrestling. Those years have long passed.
