It is to the people who care about wrestling. The same way die hard music fans look deeper than Lana Del Rey and Green Day. Its literally just opinions. One of my favourite matches is Angle and Rousey vs Triple H and Stephanie. The opinion of someone that likes a Kenny Omega match more doesn't hold more weight than mine, nor mine theirs. How much someone cares about wrestling is irrelevant. Anyone that thinks that their opinion is better than someone elses just comes off looking like a knob. Also, whats a die hard music fan and how do they differ from a normal music fan? I just wouldn't call someone who listens to Green Day or Lana Del Rey a die hard music fan. There is so much better music out there than what is in the mainstream. The same goes for wrestling. ...that's the point I was trying to make.

Lol I stand by that if someone wants to listen to that, when there is a whole world of great music out there...then they are not a die hard music fan. You can deeply love crappy music, but it's about taking the time to care and look deeper. The WWE/AEW comparison is like saying that Taylor Swift is better than Ministry, just because more people listen to her. Lol

The classic "WWE fans aren't real die hard wrestling fans" because they don't like the same wrestlers, matches or promotions that the TRUE DIE HARDS like.
Lmfao.

The Bryan Danielson hate in this thread is unreal. Especially when it's by people who haven't seen Bryan wrestle once outside of the E.
Bryan in ROH, WWE, and AEW are like three distinct variations of the same guy, and each one individually would be in the GOAT conversation.

Gonna be crazy when Bryan finally returns Nah, he's fully ensconced with that lot now - just like Moxley and Jericho. There is better stuff out there than Lana Del Rey and Green Day. Lol Ah, the good ol’ ‘you’re not a fan because you like something different to me’. Classic. As long as everyone agrees Cody destroys Bryan there’s no issue. Seriously forget that I have always been a fan of Cody since his debut and while I like Bryan I have never been a fan of his. Meaning I like watching him wrestle but I never cared if he won our not. I was never that invested in him. If he lost to Orton/Batista and the Triple H at that WrestleMania during the “Yes movement” I would have been fine with it. While Cody’s story I was invested in and needed to see him win. And from what I have seen from Bryan Danielson in AEW he’s not back to the level he was prior to his injury. Which isn’t meant as a knock because he can still perform between the ropes and is probably the best in AEW today. He’s just not as good as he was before. So for that reason along with Cody having a much more on screen personable personality and being much better cutting promos I would much rather see Cody go over. Now that is my opinion. But whoever wins it’s really the fans who would win as it would be an amazing match up. Feel free to agree or not, but that is how I see it.

I respect that Bryan has been afforded the luxury of being able to basically do anything he wants post WWE. With that said, I can count on one hand the amount of times I've been entertained by him in AEW. Cody, on the other hand, has always entertained me. But it was his indie run post WWE, pre AEW, that really solidified that man in my eyes as THE next guy. And from what I understand, he's Grumpyoldman's favorite wrestler.

Bryan's popularity was insane. I'd say him & Cody are similar in many ways.

Bryan Danielson is better in AEW and Japan. I think him and Cody Rhodes are two of the best wrestlers in the world. Gunther is also on that list.

i've never been a huge bryan danielson guy but obviously recognize his legitimacy, but let's be real. he's had great matches everywhere he's gone, and there's been a few worth forgetting due to banal bookings.

I don't think the average fan understands how good he actual is, especially without the restrictions. His matches 21-24 have been some of the absolute most insane spectacles ever. I can't believe he pushes the envelope as far as he does at this point. I like Cody Rhodes a lot, but he isn't even in the top 30 best in ring performers in the world, let alone on Danielson's level. Gunther and Ilja on the other hand, they got next.
