I don't think the average fan understands how good he actual is, especially without the restrictions. His matches 21-24 have been some of the absolute most insane spectacles ever. I can't believe he pushes the envelope as far as he does at this point. I like Cody Rhodes a lot, but he isn't even in the top 30 best in ring performers in the world, let alone on Danielson's level. Gunther and Ilja on the other hand, they got next. agreed, the names you mentioned have technical ability that is unmatched. cody is a throwback performer overall. i like cody more personally for his storylines and character than bryan but that's personal preference. I don't think there is a wrestler close to Cody right now, in terms of selling a match, and creating a narrative around said match. He just understands how to make everything meaningful, a true throwback to the wrestlers of the past imo. Today it makes him standout way ahead of the back. He deserves to use the Dusty card, because he's every bit the story teller his old man was, again imo. |

It's quite a shame we never got a real feud between these two. Plus Bryan is almost done. So we're never getting it.
Either could be the face. Either could be the heel. Either way the fans win. Sucks it'll likely never happen.
