It's a shame, because it is a GREAT set, with lots of detail and softgoods. Also...for once, it was easy to find. I FULLY expected this set to be a nightmare with cancelled preorders and Distro issues...I was wrong...The Samoans I'm looking forward to as well.

If it were just Maivia and Rocky Johnson for 50 I'd have already bought it, or if that Rock was swapped for Rocky Maivia I'd have bought it for full price

And no offense to High Chief but hardly anyone ever heard of Peter Maivia prior to The Rock debuting. Rock is the only one in this set that had any main stream appeal. Other than the most hardcore collectors, no one wants figs from pre-Golden Age. Especially guys who were barely mentioned or celebrated.

I dunno if I cross into "hardcore" territory - I'm definitely not a completist - but Peter Maivia is the only figure I want from that set. He came out really well, and is really toyetic.

Its possible Im wrong here, but I get the impression that people are more interested in getting Rocky Johnson and Peter Maivia currently because of how much WWE has bigged up the Samoan lineage. Obviously The Rock is the biggest name in the set, but he's hardly the most interesting figure. Personally I only collect retired talent and have a thing for the territories, plus I already have the only Rock I'll need, so he's the only issue with this set from me. If I do ever get it I fully expect for that Rock to just hang out in the box in my closet

If I do ever get it I fully expect for that Rock to just hang out in the box in my closet Literally this. This is why I bought it. Prior to this set, the only way to get ANY Peter Maivia figure was to go for his CS figure on secondary which would go for an easy 80 bucks loose, played with, incomplete. I was hoping against hope that Mattel would make one so I didn't have to resort to that, and they did, AND made him in Bloodline colors. Rocky Johnson was also an upgrade from his previous figure, and I didn't even have that. The Rock was originally destined for a drawer before I found MNW Austin and decided to put The Rock on the shelf opposite him. But if I wasn't trying to accomplish an entire Samoan Dynasty shelf, I wouldn't have cared about this set at all. ETA: I''m pretty sure this is what they are banking on for the new Samoans set as well, because they are also in Bloodline colors, but that set seems to have gotten a huge boost since Afa and Sika's deaths so that one might be hard to find.

I wasnt collecting when the first Rocky Johnson dropped and im a sucker for any and all territory based figures from Mattel so this set is super appealing to me... Until I remember the rock is also in the set and bumps the price another 20 bucks

There had to be a better way of doing this because the people who want The Rock probably don't care about Peter and Rocky, and vice versa. And those factors combined, NOBODY is paying full price for this. If Walmart would knock even 20 bucks off this price, it would probably move at least a little. But no, these are destined to be salvage-shipped to Ollies where people will happily jump on them for 30 bucks. But they aren't gonna move at all till then.

If they dropped 20 bucks off the price Id literally buy one tomorrow, that rock figure and the price associated with it are the only thing keeping me from this set

It's September, I think these landed in May. They are still at Walmart and still not moving.

I just want High Chief but 70 is extreme. I’m playing the long game on this one but if it goes to Ollie’s I’m screwed bc there isn’t one in forever from Manhattan.

Yes. 2 nearly obscure legends and the Rock in loafers is not something that I think would sell relatively well. Especially at the $70 price.

Still not moving at my Walmart. On the bright side it's been marked down a whopping 7 dollars, surely that'll get them to sell
