Both my walmarts have gone through at least one full set but then they got restocked. That's the issue. They will restock this at 2 walmarts in the same town...yet wont restock Monday Night War series at all.

My local figure collecting community has labeled that three pack as the biggest embarrassment of 2024.

It's October. Same quantity, same price. Worst ever.

Update.
Yea this is a gigantic bomb. It's too expensive and too deep for casuals. They really shouldn't have made as many as they did, and the next one is going to be even worse.

Here's an idea: instead of doing these unique 3-packs, just re-release desirable MNW figures with a bonus BAF instead!
WCW SET: -DDP -Booker T (white) -Syxx -(BAF BONUS) Vincent
WWF SET: -Austin (shorts) -RVD -Undertaker -(BAF BONUS) Ref Teddy Long
If I'm paying $60-$70 for DDP alone on the secondary market, might as well get a few more figures I also can't find along with it.

I’m genuinely surprised that these haven’t been clearanced everywhere or sent back for liquidation. Clearly it had a very limited appeal and those who wanted it got it when they first hit.

Problem is, Mattel and co will look at this set specifically and say that multi sets don't sell. Well yeah, multi sets no one asked for most likely won't sell. But Targets multi sets are no where to be found near me, and not to mention it's currently on sale for $13/figure with free shipping. Why can't Walmart do that? Why can't Mattel tell Walmart hey go ahead and mark these down and get them out? Nah let them rot, and be the sole reason we no longer get sets....again...

Snagged one on eBay for 40 bucks flat. Thank God I don't have to bother checking Walmart anymore

Well, they already announced a sequel to this set so it must have at least broke even.
My Walmarts have 2 or 3 of these, tops. It's a higher price ticket, just like the Wrekking Vehicles. Those stick around longer. I'm sure these will be marked down to clear room for the new Samoan Dynasty set, if needed.
I'm actually OK with this. There has to be a happy medium between peg-warming and "unless you go to Walmart every day at 6 AM, you miss out!" Would we be complaining about Harlem Heat MNW peg-warming if we saw 2-3 Stevie Rays on the pegs a couple months after release? Most Walmarts I visit now don't stock anything, period. Let alone exclusives. I see entire walls reserved for Mattel WWE product entirely vacant for 6 to 10 weeks.
I get the frustration of always seeing these, but it's not like it's SKU blocking other stuff from hitting the pegs. It's a niche product at a high price point. I wish we saw as many MNW and Superstars as we do these.

Truth be told I love these sets in concept, but the execution is pretty meh for me, I just have no need for the younger talent like Roman and The Rock. If it were 50 bucks for just the Wild Samoans or Rocky and Peter Maivia I'd have had this set forever ago and the next set on preorder already. I'm hoping the next 3 pack does better just because I want to keep seeing multipacks to turn out more niche figures, but I don't intend on paying any more than 50 bucks for it. I only want the younger Wild Samoans from that set

That Smackdown pack gonna be the worst selling 4 pack Feel like I've actually seen a couple Targets actually sell their stock of those. Id imagine they're helped a long by the constant sales they do but I haven't seen any Walmarts with any less than 6 of the Maivia packs. Not overly fond of the Smackdown pack but I have considered picking it up on clearance so I can do some Freebirds customs

I only want the younger Wild Samoans from that set I get it, totally. I was actually pretty worried about this Maivia pack, and I'm sure I wasn't the only one. I thought it wouldn't hit retail because of how "obscure" it was. This is one of the the few things Walmart.com followed through on without numerous delay emails. I think higher price point sets in general are a tougher sell, but I'm glad they exist. From what I remember that Bash at the Beach 96 3-pack peg warmed for months, now it's quite pricey.

I love the idea of multipacks they just dont always stick the landing, there's usually one figure that completely turns me off at of the set at full price or in the case of the Then Now Forever pack its just too varied for my collection. I liked the territories four pack a lot minus Ali for example. Im pretty stoked about the ultimate tag team packs from ringside and elite tag packs from MC, seems like the ideal middle ground.

That Smackdown pack gonna be the worst selling 4 pack This stuck around at my Target for two days, tops. I never saw it in person. I didn't really like this one, not a fan of street clothes figures, reminds me too much of the numerous Jakks peg warmers from back in the day, lol. But apparently, there's demand. Hogan 3-pack and Then, Now, Forever also stuck around for a couple days tops. The SmackDown 4-pack was also 55 bucks on Target.com recently, so I guess Target knows how to clear out inventory better than Walmart. Either way, I think the box sets are doing well. They operate under different metrics than the other stuff Mattel releases to retail.

Well, they already announced a sequel to this set so it must have at least broke even. I don't believe that's true. The lines are planned out 1 year in advance - so this would have been scheduled before the current 3-pack hit the stores. I assume the other one is going to take a massive loss, too.

I don't know about the other one taking quite as big a loss, last time I checked the second set was sold out on preorders ages ago. With the passing of the Wild Samoans, it might actually sell.
