I'm gonna have to go with a 4 way tie between ROH, PWG, IWA-MS, and Chikara on this one.

Meh at the moment I'm really into BJW, NOAH. NJPW. But If I had to pick a US indy. I would have to go with ROH. I've lost all interest in CHIKARA as of late, and yeah CZW really needs no explanation.

ROH, PWG and Chikara. In that order. I'd probably choose Chikara as my favourite if i had more of their dvd's, but for now PWG and ROH are my favorites.

ROH definitely, I love their roster and feel like they just put on great event after great event. CHIKARA comes in at a close second.

Why? Because they are on PPV? They are still an Indy. They are still independently owned by Cary Silkin to my knowledge. The day it is no longer an independent company is the day they are bought by a larger parent organization. WWE before becoming a publicly traded company was owned by a parent organization in "Titan Sports, Inc", which Vince created to buy the WWF from his father back around 1980. TNA is owned by Panda Energy. Meanwhile, ROH is still independently owned by one guy, as opposed to a company. As for which is my favorite, back a while ago, I would say ROH. Lately though, I have been a tad out of the loop with ROH, but I am now firmly behind CHIKARA, so I'm going with CHIKARA on this. -CMD |

ROH is not an independent company where they run shows with random guys. They are a full touring company with contracts and pay per view. They fall into the category of TNA and WWE, being the third of the new big three. End of story. |

I started to recognize WWE, TNA, and ROH as the new "Big 3" around 2 or 3 years ago.
I would like to hear what your definition of an "Indy" is. All "Indy" is is an abbreviation for an independent promotion. An approporiate definition for"Independent" in this case is " Not dependent on or affiliated with a larger or controlling entity" (courtesy dictionary.com), as such, TNA is owned by Panda Energy, which is considered a larger entity. All that the status of being an "independent" promotion boils down to is ownership. It's not independent when owned by a larger company. If it's owned by one person (or in the case of PWG, multiple people who all have an equal share of power) not answering to any higher parent company in a place of authority, I consider that independent. ROH, while being a higher calibur promotion, I still consider an indy. Yes, they have PPV, yes, they have contracted talent, but it is still owned by one person. It sounds like you have all sorts of connotations placed on the word "indy", like random guys wrestling for little money, draws of under 100 people, and the only exposure being live shows, and low budgety DVDs, but, once again, all "indy" is is an abbrevation for independent. ROH is independent from any larger parent organization.
