Keep in mind this wad puro's Top 20.

- Of all the matches I watched from 2007 I watched...easily at least 150...the "Ladder War" and Nigel vs. Morishima when Nigel won the belt were easily two of the worst I had seen. Danielson/Morishima I was good, and would make my list if it happened in Japan, but seriously, some praised ROH matches are so shitty it's ridiculous.

- 2008 looks to be a great year for puroresu. An awesome Champion's Carnival is coming up, NOAH's Global Tag League, the NJ Cup is looking fun...and we are definitely going to have some fun matches coming from DDT, BJW, and other smaller promotions.

- Z1-MAX is easily one of the worst promotions in Japan. The matches they put on are filled with overkill and no-selling to the point where fans don't even pop for nearfalls because they never expect the match to end. Masato Tanaka just started using a new finish in 2007, called the Sliding D, that is already getting 1 counts and being used 4 times to finish a match. It's so bad, because Z1 was at one time, really good.

- My name definitely should have been on the Hall of Fame ballot. Someone's gotta agree with me there.

BJW is easily the best indy in Japan right now. They also have hotter crowds than pretty much any promotion, and the Sasaki/Miyamoto match was easily the best 1 vs. 1 story I've seen told all year.

Doesn't mean they shouldn't be on my list though...as Sasaki vs. Miyamoto was clearly the best match out of the big 3 promotions...maybe only having competition from the 5/10 New Hazard vs. Typhoon tag, the 6/56 3-way 3-man DG tag, or the 9/22 Typhoon vs. Tozawa-juku tag.

Oh, or HARASHIMA vs. Ibushi, which is 9 on my list.

The board did fall on hard times at first. We had a mod that knew nothing about indy wrestling and never posted here, very little new blood, and a lot of other minor issues. But we perservered. A lot of new blood reinvigorated the boards. We had a couple of good contests like The Ultimate Indy Wrestler, Year End Awards and now King Of Trios. Things really picked back up end of 07 and beginning of 08.

It's kind of strange by the way, not in a bad way, that both Dean and Deano have popped up. But I'm not complaining. Anyways..

#18, correct me if I'm wrong but were you not at one time very anti-Chris Sabin? If I'm right that match has to be good to even get a nod from you.

I might check some of these out as I haven't put a lot of money into DVDs as of late, and that goes double for finding it on the web. Marufuji vs Morishima from 12/2 was good enough for your top 10? I'm not buying it, but to each their own.

I definitely don't know what to say about Z-1, it used to be my favorite promotion but now it's no where on the radar. For shame.

A deathmatch, hah... that's a new side of you I'm not familiar with.

Oh and I agree, you should have had a ballot on the Hall of Fame, but now that you're posting I think you screwed your chance for the '09 class. :-X

Nigel is the man. Although I did find his recent PPV match with Austin Aries to be overrated as well. I've never been a huge Aries fan though. The guy is good but there is like 10 ROH guys I'd rather watch.

I think it has a lot to do with a lot of ROH fans always hyping up a match as being the best ever and all this crap that when I see the match, I'm disappointed. It was a good match but I wouldn't say it was on of the top 5 ROH matches I've ever seen. Not even in the top 10. Ok, not even in the top 25.

This match is so overblown. They did a few highspots off the scaffold and everybody is blowing a load over it. I know that BJW really built this match up but it was a standard run of the mill death match with nothing special.

But BJW on the list is acceptable. And it really is a fun fed to follow.

I also agree on the Ladder War match, their all chanting match of the year at the end, but a few ladder bumps doesn't make it a 5 star kind of match.

I didn't get to see Nigel vs Mori from the PPV yet, but I agree that their fight at fighting spirit was a hell of a showcase and the kind of match you want to say you saw live.

Probably the sole reason I became somewhat of a Mori fan, the match was incredibly stiff but meaningful.

The match of the year chants didn't bother as much(even though it wasn't) as the ROH Bots saying it was the best ladder match ever, which it wasn't.
