or just tickets/citations in general... we all get them... i just got my first one since i've had my license the day i turned 16. got pulled over for going 50mph in a 40 and no seat belt.
$94 dollar fine or i have the option to take a class and pay $75 to have it purged from my record and not deduct any points from my license and what not.
anyone else remember their first ticket? or have any good stories? i've heard of some people speeding heavily and getting outrageous fines... i'm glad mine is pretty reasonable.

Nope, I know a lot of high ranked cops so its pretty much impossible for me to get a ticket. Unless its a state trooper, they're bungholes.

Ugh. I was on my way to go to work. I was doing 60 because the road was unmarked, granted it is a 50 when it's unmarked. So I get to this part, where not even a mile from the stoplight i got pulled over after it turns to 30. So i keep doing 60. I stop at the light and look in my mirror. I see, oh great a cop! I shouldn't speed. So instead of turning left at the light so I could do 60 on the highway I go straight into another area that is thirty. I swore I only did 35, but I accidently got up to 40. I lookin my mirror... shit! He turned his lights on. And he's like whats the rush, and I'm like I'm on my way to work. So he says do you realize I clocked you doing a 62 in a thirty? I had no idea it was a thirty. I thought it was a fifty. So he asks for my lisence and registration, it says on my lisence i need glasses, and i wasn't wearing them. Well anyway I lean over to get my lisence and stuff.... and forgot to put my car in park so i started rolling so he's like PUT IT IN PARK... that was embarrassing.. Then he takes my ticket and brings it back and he's like to save you some money and since it's your first ticket I took it down to doing 50 in a 30. He never said anythign about the glasses. My ticket is 120 and I haven't told my parents yet. I'm going to pay the extra hundred so my insurance won't go up... Ugh..

I swear they'd write their own mothers. We had one one time write the chief of police of a small town while he was in a marked car. They're out of control.

$94 ..... that's it ?
Your lucky , I have had tickets in 3 different courts and the lowest court fee alone was $95 , that wasn't including the actual fine.
Never got a speeding ticket surprisingly but my first time I got owned by the cop and got 3 tickets on that one stop. 1 was for going straight in a turn only lane , another was for not using my turn signal when I turned off the road after the cop got behind me and put his lights on , and the third was for not having my insurance card with me.

I have had 4 speeding tickets in the 17 years I have been driving. Also had a no insurance citation when I didn't realize it had expired, which cost me $300 + a 90 day suspension.

I got my first ticket last summer, going 47 on a road whose limit is 35. It's weird because I take that road everyday and it's not like I was driving dangerously,; there was 2 trucks ahead of me going faster, and the cop just picked me off in his unmarked car. He was relatively nice though, and since it was my first time he bumped it down to a seatbelt violation so it was around $95 for the ticket.
There was also a time I tried parking in downtown Syracuse. My friend's band was playing and I asked if he thought I'd be good there, and he said I'd be fine. Nope. That bastard.

I've got a few decent stories about speeding tickets...
My first speeding ticket I was heading home from the classes I took at the local college while I was in high school. I had just recently got my license. I was driving on one of the back roads on my way to my house and I passed a police officer going about 50mph in what I thought was a 50mph zone. It turns out that the city had recently reduced the speed of that area to 35mph because of the new houses that went up right by it. So basically, I got a ticket for going 15mph over in an area that I thought was a 50mph limit. That sucked. The cop didn't cut me any slack, either, even though it was the first time I had ever been pulled over.
The second (and third) time I got a speeding ticket Driving up to Minnesota when I lived in Iowa. On my four-hour drive, I received two separate speeding tickets, both in excess of 15mph over the speed limit. I was trying to get to my friend's house before dark because I used to hate driving at night. I ended up being even later than I would've been if I followed the speed limit.
My fourth speeding ticket Driving to work, I was late and trying to get there on time. I ended up being pulled over for being 22mph over the speed limit - 87mph in a 65mph zone. The cop just looked at me like, "... Are you serious?"
--------
All of these tickets happened before I was 18 years old, so I had learned my lesson about speeding everywhere I went. My insurance was pretty expensive for the next three years until last year when all four tickets finally dropped off of my insurance. I thought I was doing much better until...
My fifth speeding ticket This one happened about a week ago when I was driving home from my friend's house. They had been doing construction on the main road that I take to go to/from his house recently and it was a 45mph speed limit during that time. Well they recently finished the construction so they increased the speed limits back to normal (55mph) - or so I thought.
I was driving along at 52mph when I passed a police car with his lights turned off on the side of the road, obviously trying to get people for speeding. Right away, the officer flipped on his headlights, got up behind me, and turned on his flashers. I pulled over, wondering why I'm being pulled over. He comes up to my window and asks me if I know why I'm being pulled over. I say, "No, I have no idea, actually." He explains to me that I was going 52mph in a 45mph area.
I could have sworn that it was back to 55mph, but I didn't want to argue and cause more of a problem, so I just gave him my license/insurance and took my speeding ticket -- $112. Ouch.
So I finish my drive home and I'm sitting down to watch some football when I get a knock at my door. I go to the door and it's the officer who had pulled me over on my way home. He explained to me that he thought the speed limit was still 45mph, but it was in fact now 55mph, so I was UNDER the speed limit. He took the ticket back, apologized to me, and went on his way. That was a huge relief because I recently bought a 2007 Dodge Charger and my car insurance was already fairly high as it is - I really didn't want to pay a higher rate.

First ticket? Pretty ed up at four in the morning, going only 40...But it was a school zone. Luckily, he didn't make me get out of the car. I would've been so screwed.

I've been pulled over 3 times in the last 5 yrs. Once I was going 40 in a 30 mph zone, once I was doing about 60 in a 30 mph zone (it was 7 am on a Sunday and no one was out) and the third time I ran a red light in downtown at 3 am on a Monday (me and the cop car were the only two cars on the street). I didn't get a ticket in any of the three cases. My job gives me a get out of jail free card basically.

My first speeding ticket was a 5-pointer. I was doing 60 in a 30. Pretty stupid. I've had about ten since then, but none that bad.
