First I go to a stylist not a Barber, and yes everytime I get chopped I make sure she gets a little something, one time I even bought her flowers.

All the time, I give my barber $5 and then I give the lady who washes my hair $2.

I usually tip whoever cuts my hair 2 dollars, although lately it's gotten to be so expensive to get a haircut that it's getting harder and harder to leave that tip.
My barometer for tipping waiters is whether or not you you refill my soda. If you come back and ask for a refill enough times that I've have enough and decline, I'll leave the full 10%. If You only come back once or twice and ask, I'll leave 5%. If I have to track you down and ask for a refill myself, you'll be lucky to get a dollar out of me if that.

I just found out you could the last time I went. I never thought of it. I never have. I feel bad if I don't but I'm stingy.

I ctually just threw that out as a figure, it really all depends on the level of service, how much you order, and how many people are in your party.

The least amount you're suppose to tip a server who gives you good service is 15%. I promise everyone servers all talk and we have GREAT memories. If you get good service and you're cheap, dont eat there again. I PROMISE you dont know what you're eating. If you've never seen the movie Waiting, watch it. A real resturant isnt that far off

I always leave them about a $4 tip every time. Same goes for a waitress, if I'm at a restaurant.

I do tip, and i give a decent tip at that.
But I've never understood the concept of tipping people. They are getting paid to do a job. Why do we pay them extra?
As I said, I always tip, but people get paid anyway, so I understand not tipping. Besides.. why tip one person and not tip another?
Why tip the guy that cuts your hair and not the guy that serves you in the supermarket? People who work at large retail shops are usually busting their asses all day long with managers on their back and get crappy wages, yet the barber, who is pretty much self-employed and has a job he enjoys doing, gets the tip.
I don't get it...

Yes I do leave a tip for the barber, and for people who wait on me at places.

I don't get it... Thats very simple to answer. Min wage here in Tennessee is $5.15/hr. As a server i made $2.13/hr, working at Target i made $9.75, working as a collector i made $8.50. So where as people at Target or the supermarket are making AT LEAST min wage, servers and bartenders dont. Servers live off their tips, NOT their paycheck

But in Ireland, the minimum wage is the minimum wage and everyone who qualifies for the minimum wage gets the minimum wage. Maybe Tennessee should be a little less lenient with the law?
