I honestly feel like I could just stop at any time. I go for days, even weeks sometimes until i just get bored and decide to have one. I don't know why people bitch and say it's so hard. Just stop. I've been smoking for about 3 years, and i'm just not "addicted". Ive been smokeing for a long time know and i feel the same. I figure id rather die by my own hands then being shot or anything like that.

I quit smoking cold turkey about three years ago. Its not that hard, but I will tell you, that you will put on weight. Because when you stop getting something you crave, your body craves something else.. so usually people will eat constantly, even if they're not hungry. So what I did was, I went and bought a weight bench, and every time I felt like I wanted a smoke, Id go downstairs, and work out for a good half hour to an hour, then you're mind is focused on something completely different, and you dont want it anymore.
I will tell you, the first two weeks are the hardest, but once you get past that, its easy really.
I did, however, just start chewing again, not because I felt like I needed it, but because I love it. Theres just something about playing Xbox and having a dip in.. its so relaxing after a hard days work.
But, yeah, like I said, cold turkey is the way to go. And remember, you will gain weight, so try to work out, or you'll get fat.

Instead of having to hold a cigarette or cigar or pipe or spliff or... I dunno Try holding a carrot or something else and keep on saying to your self this is shortening my life I know someone who tried the carrot thing and it worked Good Luck!

It sucks. I was trying to quit at the beginning of the year, but didn't have any luck. I'd say if you really think you'll be able to do it, just stop buying cigs. If you really want to quit, just stop. I know its an addiction and yadda, yadda, yadda, but YOU are the one that goes in and buys cigs & YOU are the one who lights them. So if you wanna stop, just tell yourself you arent gonna let something like cigs "beat you". Use your will power. But, if that fails, & it probably will if you're like me, something I tried was to just put a cig in my mouth & not light it. Then when you're done, put it back in the pack. Just make sure you don't smoke them ever, not even if you really feel like you want/need one, or soon you'll smoke them all.

Ive stayed well away from smoking, ive never tried it. Although i would like to i know that if i have a smoke i have the chance of my lungs seizing up and not being able to breathe properly. I have a medical condition you see and my lungs are the same as the average smokers anyway, they arent full of tar, they are just really bad. its a gene defect.
Just sitting at family do's with my cousins and auntys smoking around me has me in coughing fits.

After you have smoked for a couple of years the effects start to go. When you start you feel a buzz, but later on it's becomes a habbit.
Qutting is the best thing to do. You'll start coughing up alot aswell. This is your bodys way of clearing up your lungs.
