It's called economics. Demand goes down as price goes up. That's exactly why they shouldn't raise the prices. If Jakks gave us correct paint jobs, I would be fine spending a little bit more. If Jakks didn't oversaturate the market, they wouldn't have dug themselves into a hole. I'm not paying for them to get out.

Not terribly surprised. Almost relieved, the fallout from profits lost in the Chinese made toys recalls will be felt across the board. I know the WWE toys have not been affected, but I am certain Jakks has to have been.

$17 is like £8.50, the UK pays like £9.99 for 2 packs. So with the increase the US & UK will pay about the same. So it ain't that bad of an increase... When the price increases in US, it probably increases in UK too.

Then I expect a lot of figures to be done top notch then and most prototypes to look like the finished product. That's it, if the end product was perfect people wouldn't mind a increase in costs, but the usual half assed product we're get don't reflect that. Looks like others I'll be waiting for sale prices.

This is unacceptable. I quit collecting figures because of the price increase effective immediately.

With any luck they won't be increased in England, still though there is a chance.

I don't mind a price increase on figures if the quality was where it should be. On the other hand price increases for even lesser quality than what we were getting is unacceptable. As someone who regularly buys Jakks line of wrestling figures i feel like it is a slap in the face when i get an inferior product. I'm talking about quality control, loose joints right out of the box and paint smudges are unexceptible. The unmatched fury line is a perfect example of piss-poor quality control. I'm a graphic designer and if i produced something for a client that was subpar they wouldn't accept it, and this situation is no different.
If i'm paying $13 for a classic series figure... i expect worthwhile accessories and a high attention to detail. The CS lien is very hit or miss on this. The price increase would bring CS figures pretty close to $15 and with that increase i expect less repaints and for new molds to be made. Nothing makes me more aggravated is simple things like the Londrick figures using the same lower body parts as Cena figures. Londrick don't wear belts and dont wear tennis shoes. I've said it before and i'll say it again, if Jakks doesn't fix the problems associated with this line then i'll stop collecting. It doesn't effect me either way. I'll spend the $150 every month on something else instead. Thats almost $2,000 a year that Jakks could be missing out on and i'm just one person.

This is the thing that might get me to sell everything off.

Also, their 10% price increase is probably the price they sell them to retailers at. Places like TRU and Wal*Mart will once again raise their prices in effect to that.
Oh and don't hold your breath when it comes to them giving us a better product. This whole price increase is due to the China/Lead paint mass recall they've been having. So it is highly unlikely they will up the quality of the figures.

I'm sure this has nothing to do with the fact that their stock dropped $3+ dollars a few weeks ago and it was already pretty low to begin with.

I hope the prices will be going down in Canada with the higher dollar, but it doesn't really matter to me. I order all my figures online as it take too damn long for the sets to get released in Canada, if they get released at all here.

alright, I'm going to throw this out again and see what happens. This is the way things happen in real life. Some of you will grow up one day and get educated on how running a business works. Until then, here's a rundown:
Step 1. Manufacturer makes the product for pennies. Step 2. A broker buys the supply off of the manufacturer. The price goes up to like, 50 cents. Step 3. The broker sells the product to a wholesaler. Price goes up to like, a buck fifty. Step 4. The wholesaler (this is the warehouse people) finds a Retailer (TRU, Walmart, KB) that is willing to put the product on a shelf. Price is up to about 3 bucks now. Step 5. The retailer spends lots and lots of money on advertising for you, the consumer to want to buy the product. Price goes up to, say, $8.99 for a piece of plastic that YOU want to buy, because that's how much they need to recoup the ad money they lost.
Now, steps 2, 3, and 4 are what we call middlemen. Everyone needs to make a cut of the profit. Now, when the cost of gas goes up, so does the cost to ship this stuff from the third world country it was made in. Planes break down, it cost's everyone in the middle to fix it. Stuff like that. Price of materials goes up, equipment needs repair... all of it goes in to final price.
The final price occurs because of things like the war, the China paint issue, stock price drops, but the big picture is sad and simple. Ever since, oh I don't know, time freakin' began, PRICES HAVE GONE UP. I was a little kid in the early 80's and let me tell you, die-cast metal/plastic hybrid toys called The Transformers were awesome. The "transformers" of today have toys of only plastic, and some of them are just cheaply put together....for about the same cost twenty years ago.
If you're complaining about a 10% increase on a TOY, wait until you get a job one day. Wait until the cost of living from one year to the next is an almost 10% increase or more, but the job you work at gives you a max of 5-6% raise. You see any logic in that?
But sadly there it is.

omg, it's only like $1. if you people get that upset about a dollar than you should be worrying about other things than wrestling figures. inflation is a bitch, but that's the way it goes. stupid chinese and their lead paint testing & what not. i busted thermometers & played with mercury when i was kid & i turned out moderately fine.

Wow.... Im kinda pissed right about now. If the figures are only like a buck or two more then thats ok. It's nothing i want to see happen..... But if it does, it does.

But the thing is we are paying to much for them to begin with. Why should I pay $10 for a half assed piece of plastic when I can save that $10 and use it towards something else? I don't feel like wasting $10 on a wrestling figure that just sits on a desk. I don't even buy complete sets like a lot of people here and I still think it is ridiculous. In fact I've been seeing more figures sitting on store shelfs than before. That just screams that people are either A. Tired of seeing Jakks half assed attempt at figures. B. The constant rise in figure prices. C. The many different kinds of figures (from RA, DA, CS, CSDA, CSTT, AD, ECW, TT, UF) are over saturating the market. D. All of the above
