Seeing as we know Cena won't be losing the belt anytime soon, I'm all for the same idea I proposed back when JBL was champion. Have Cena hold the title right up until the last minute. About a month from now, start heavily promoting the fact that Cena could potentially be the first man to hold the championship for a year in 20 years or so. Throughout August, the pressure could slowly start to morph Cena and we might see a little bit of a change in attitude. \dude i love this idea so much! At Unforgiven, supposedly his last title defense before hitting the year mark, Cena retains yet again, allowing him to finally let his guard down. The next night on Raw, Cena is forced to defend the title again, and this time, loses it. Cena falls short of a year by less than 24 hours. The loss drives him mad, and results in a monster heel turn. |

Do you guys remeber 1999,2000,2001, waaaay to many world title changes. Many title changes in a year is not good for the credibility of the title. But then again those were the best in terms of storylines and business for the WWF at the time

The unpredictablitiy of it all made it awesome back then. It may not work right now, but it really was a golden time in my book. Back in the 70's and 80's, fans didn't mind year long, or 2-3 year long title runs, because wrestling wasn't as over-exposed as it is today. The Champ didn't saturate every single show, unlike today. That kind of mentality doesn't really fly this day and age. If Cena does retain past the year mark, then good for him. I don't really see him keeping it a lot longer, but I'm sure he will soon be a 4 time champ after that. |
