It looks like WWE may never recover from the Benoit incident.

I hope this is a rude awakening to change things. Or they'll just force us more Cena.
I guess they hyped up King Booker and Jerry for nothing.

guys this is actually a good thing....we should all actually boycott and get the rating as low as we possibly can.....only then will Vince McMahon stop booking the CRAP that HE wants to see, and start giving the FANS what WE want to see.

It looks like WWE may never recover from the Benoit incident. I don't even think the Benoit incident is to blame. Their product has been really lacking.

WWE Sucks. And I can think of 5 excuses why the episode's ratings sucked other than the usuall crap writing
1. Jeff Hardy wasnt on. he is extremely popular 2. That cryme tyme segment that went way to damn long. 3. Carlito in the main event. 4. Sgt. Slaugter vs Randy Orton. 5. Cena still being the world champion

It looks like WWE may never recover from the Benoit incident. You can't blame the Benoit tragedy for all of this though, because the RAW after everyone knew he was possibly on drugs and that he killed his family STILL had higher ratings than this. It may have played a part, but you can tell that people are saying "enough is enough."

Yep, if I recall correctly, Owen Hart said it best:
"Enough is enough and it's time for a change"

I really think some of the people who were Raw diehards have switched over to TNA. Their ratings have been up for about the same ammount of time that Raw's has been down recently. I think the Benoit stuff has also turned alot of people off and plus there are hardly any big stars on Raw right now at all. I'm pretty sure the rating will go back up a bit for Trips return but I don't think it will be a huge jump.

I think we should all go on a strike and not watch WWE until it gets better...
We find out when it gets better by reading results off the internet.

Cena still being the world champion While I doubt any of those really contributed, only one of the five are in any way realistic. Guy #1: "Yeah, I didn't tune in because I knew Jeff Hardy wasn't going to be on!" Guy #2:"I didn't watch either. Want to know why? Because the Cryme Tyme segment went on too long." Points 3 and 4 are both related to actually tuning into the show. Five is the only relevant one, because a lot of people actually just want a new champion.

Oh my goodness, the WWE is going straight down to the bottom. Benoit really killed them, no pun intended. Now we can realize that Cena is NOT a huge ratings draw. This whole Orton-Cena fued is great for us fans (who still watch every week), but to the newer fans, this just isn't cutting it for them. I can see TNA Impact getting a higher rating than Raw now. Lets say they find a way top bring in Bill Goldberg, Hulk Hogan, and maybe even Rob Van Dam, then TNA would do really good numbers. But damn, a 2.5 rating is astonishing.

Who thinks next week's show is getting a 1.9? I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Heres something i havent thought of. During the Attitude era, the fans were raised on the "golden age" of Hulkamania, then we grew into the Attitude era. Now these people that made those times big are a lil older and have moved one. I never missed an episode of Prime Time Wrestling/Raw from like 91-02. But now im almost 24 and i have to work on monday nights. I miss Raw every now and then. Maybe its just Evolution

I personally haven't watched RAW since HBK was injured. The WWE product is lacking. These short lived, poorly put together programs (feuds) aren't cutting it. We need a big name guy (even like Cena) to go edgy and do something different. Turn him heel, do something! I'll never forget when watching the Monday Night War DVD Bischoff said partially what made WCW such a success in 96-98 is that they did a survey saying wrestling fans like to be suprised. Well ... that element is just gone in WWE right now. Cena wins, blah blah blah. And not just that. I say have him lost the belt ... then have him go mad and turn heel over it. Just mix it up. WWE needs to take RISKS, do something outlandish and something that will change the scene. Right now it's about as stale as four year old bread.
