I'm sorry I'm not a sheep Actually, you could be, seeing as everyone thinks it's "cool" to boo Cena. You're doing the same as everyone else.

Like Thug said, the hate (well, for some, at least) is not so much solely directed at Cena. It's moreso the fact that, since he joined Raw in '05, he has been the focal point of the WWE Championship picture, only exception being the 3 months he was out with the injury, doing the exact same thing week in and week out. Just like with Triple H circa '02-'04, it just gets too repetitive and boring. And Austin/Rock before that, Hulk Hogan for several years, etc. That's just the way it is when you're the focal point of a promotion. You can't tell me that there weren't stale champions before Cena; Hogan has been stale for years, and during the almighty Attitude era, Stone Cold and the Rock swapping titles got old fast, too. John Cena is just an easier target for fans because of his limited in-ring talent and the state of WWE today. I'm sure there were older fans during the 80's and 90's who got sick of Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart with their appeal towards a younger demographic. Wrestling is very much cyclical and current 2008 WWE is no exception. Cena has three times the exposure Hogan had. Cena wrestles, and defeats, superstars every RAW. Mid-card guys like Cade and Murdoch, Johnny Nitro, Matt Striker, Tomko, and most recently, Mark Henry, are all victims of completely random matches dominated by Cena. He has literally beaten everyone on the RAW roster, maybe with one or two slight exceptions. Half those guys shouldn't be wrestling him, and he's certaintly not helping himself or them by squashing them. The Attitude Era? It wasn't all Austin and Rock. Austin wasn't even there for 2000. Undertaker had two healthy title reigns. Mick Foley was in and out of the spotlight. Triple H had several healthy reigns. Kane, British Bulldog, Big Show, Rikishi, all shuffled around. This wasn't even close to the Cena-dominated RAW we have now. How many PPVs hasn't he headlined since moving over to RAW? Vengeance 2006, No Mercy 2007, Survivor Series 2007, Armageddon 2007. I really think that is it. Is all of this a good thing? Maybe if we saw Cena's face less and stopped seeing the same moves (he was cheered going into the Rumble, then we he displayed his "new and improved" moveset, he was booed AGAIN), we'd hate him a little less.

My problem was that evry PPV match Cena had in 07 you knew the result, Cena was going to win, why watch (or cheer for that matter) for a guy that you know is going to keep the title no matter what.

Cena may have more exposure as champion than Hogan ever did, but it isn't about quantity, it's quality. I would not consider any of Cena's major feuds as anywhere near competing with Hulk Hogan's. The star power that Hogan faced in the late 80's to early 90's far exceeds the talent Cena has triumphed over in recent years. Steve Austin and the Rock were the stand out performers of the Attitude era, and while their title reigns weren't lengthy, the amount of ppvs with their faces headlining was enough to stomach. One major difference between that era and the current one is that there are no other major players in WWE today in terms of new, young talent. Cena is the ultimate top draw and without him, WWE is ed in several years when there are no HBK's or Undertaker's headlining shows. How would removing Cena be good at all for business? The same can be said for "turning him heel", as it did nothing for Austin's career late and it would be even worse to do now for the company's top face. And, enough with the "more moves" argument; I seriously doubt half of this board would jump on the John Cena bandwagon if he pulled another arm drag or snap suplex out of his ass. I'm not much of a John Cena fan myself, but it's still cool for older fans to boo Cena because they believe in some way they are teaching Vince a lesson. The only way to truthfully teach him would be to a. stop watching in record numbers, b. stop attending events in record numbers, or c. not react at all, as A reaction is better than none.

Wrestling is very much cyclical and current 2008 WWE is no exception. Uh...Austin was never stale. Hell, they even tried to turn Austin heel and the fans wouldn't let them because he was still so over. The Rock did begin to get stale towards the later days of his WWE run, but he wasn't main eventing every PPV of the year and holding the title like Cena or Triple H. When The Rock was getting stale back in 2001, they turned Austin heel or turned Jericho heel to get more crowd support behind him and it worked.

from Cena "haters". It is amazing dumb that people boo Cena, and chant you cannot wrestle and blah blah blah. Every PPV match he had in 07 was great. If you think different, you are either lying or dumb. So he gets injured. He works his ass off to come back to the WWE, to show to us he loves the buisness, when he could have been off a few more months resting. But no, he comes back for us, to entertain us and what do we do? Boo, and YOU CAN'T WRESTLE! Seriously, the Cena Haters need to quit on HATING. Oh, sure bud! I'm gunna just start being a fan of him because he's suppose to be a fan favorite and worked his ass off to come back and entertain us. Yeah, because you know...that's what's suppose to happen. Okay guys, lets all become fans of John Cena because he got injured and is back now.

No, that doesn't mean that Cena is over... at all. It means people (like me) thinks he sucks when it comes to WRESTLING, which he does. It's "X-Pac heat" that he gets.
I just can't wait to boo Cena ONCE again at WrestleMania, when THOUSANDS of others do as well.

You tell all the Cena haters that we bitch that we dont like him, and then you bitch because we dont like him.

its the truth: nobody cares more for the fans but John Cena. name one person that returned from a real injury, 2 to 8 months ahead of schedule. and bullcrapif you say "they diagnosed it wrong". that, Cena busted his ass, did his rehab, got in shape and all for the fans. This guy should be everyones favorite person (not wrestler, person) in the WWE today. And im laying a challenge to anyone who wants to prove me wrong. Never is there some negative story about Cena. Theres no $100 bills autographed to "Dipshit".

Cena's injury... not diagnosed wrong, not Cena working hard to get back sooner... it was an effin' work. WWE and Cena both knew Cena would be back by the Rumble, but they lied and told newsites, etc. that he wouldn't be back until WrestleMania. Awesome job by the WWE for pulling such a great swerve, but Cena DID NOT "bust his ass" to get back sooner. - Triple S

As much as people hate him they still prove hes over. Being booed (even when youre a face) is a sign of being over. You only need to worry if you arent getting a reaction. Ahem? Check...aaaaaaaaaannnnnnd mate.
