 Im tired of people saying that same o'l tired ass bull ****. You nor anyone else is in any position that people who hate Cena is due to trying to be cool. SO get off that Pony because it's broken down. I dont boo cena cause its cool, i do it cause i don't like him. and quite frankly, I don't have to justify my reasons to not a damn person on here. thank you very much!  We're tired of your ol' tired ass bull**** too Mark. Has it ever occurred to you that we like Cena because we enjoy watching him? We don't need to justify our reasons either. I don't generally post in these threads, but I was thinking about this the other day...
I don't care much for Cena as a wrestler. And on the mic he can be amazing, but is more often not that great there either...
That being said, this man has gained the utmost respect from me. Not for his work per say, but for his ethic.
He very obviously cares about the business, and has proven on more than one occasion what a professional he is. He works his ass off to entertain, and even though a lot of people think he failed, just as many if not more are obviously proving him to be a success.
When I go out of my house and I see people in wrestling shirts, a very large number of them are wearing Cena shirts. You may think that it's just the stupid fans who don't know anything about wrestling, and you may be right... But in case you didn't know, that is still the vast majority of the fans. The hardcore insiders make up a small percentage. That's why guys like Cena are popular, and ROH failed on PPV.
Also, I have never heard a bad story of anyone meeting him. He always seems to go out of his way to connect with the public.
So take his ability for what it's worth, but this guy is a class act and a great professional.

The only problem I have with the "You Can't Wrestle" chants is that he clearly can wrestle. Cena's debut and weeks after saw him doing flapjacks/spinebusters/lou thez and other moves. I think he should use more moves but to say he can't wrestle is wrong.
Another thing. The whole thing about Cena having the title for to long... it's bullcrap. Normally you wern't classed as a real champion unless you held the belt for past a year or so. I don't know if anyone who is old enough complain that Bruno held the title for seven years(I think.)
Im not a Cena hater, but I don't have him on my top ten fav list either. I do think he is credible as a champion because he is majorly over. His feud with Edge was probably the best feud since 2000, might get bashed for that but it is true. Hell, his feud with Edge built Edge as the guy he is today, look who Cena has lost the title to. Edge(1) Edge(2) and Rob Van Dam. Two people I am sure Triple H didn't have any plan dropping the title to.

I liked the heel Cena when he was rapping that was entertaining. Trying to be funny like Cean does now just isn't entertaining at all!
I don't like Cena at all if I'm honest but firstly people can't seriously think they boo him because it's cool? WTF! How stupid really, it sounds like your finding an excuse to why people are 'hating' on Cena.
When it comes to in the ring I don't agree with the 07 PPV matches, if you know the result some people won't bother watching it. His in ring abilities are limited at best he gets beat for most the match and then 'defies the odd's but then again there are worse in the WWE.
The reason I don't like him is mainly the gimmick. If there were say another 3 or 4 guys that were at a constant main event level like back in the attitude era there wouldn't be so much bitching about Cena, simple fact! Hopefully the WWE will alternate the title about like the attitude era.

It's not even that Cena's work ethic or matches are bad. They're not great, but he's not the worst I've ever seen in the ring either. He's capable of having a decent match when the right guy can carry him. My biggest problem with Cena (and the WWE as a whole) is the fact that everything is just so stale. The main event scene, the characters, the storylines. It all is just boring to me. Like Thug said, the hate (well, for some, at least) is not so much solely directed at Cena. It's moreso the fact that, since he joined Raw in '05, he has been the focal point of the WWE Championship picture, only exception being the 3 months he was out with the injury, doing the exact same thing week in and week out. Just like with Triple H circa '02-'04, it just gets too repetitive and boring. I am sure when Austin was the champ constantly like in 2001, which I believe was his best title run, it went from Wrestlemania to Unforgiven and then he held it til Vengeance, great reign, excellent matches. Cena's reign in '06 is one of the better reigns in a while I think, almost every title match he had in '06 was good, his title matches in '05 before that were great, Vengeance, Summerslam, his feud with Angle, Edge, HHH, RVD, HBK, Umaga were all great matches, and it's not his fault that he has to face Khali, Khali is booked to face him as well as Cena is booked to be the champion, can't really hate Cena for that, but even when he faced Khali, it ended up being the best match in Khali's career in my opinion, Batista vs. Khali was probably the worst match ever, but Cena actually tried to make him look half way decent. |

^ Yeah, Cena put on a decent match with Khali. Taker did not do that well. There LMS match (Taker and Khali's) was bad. Batista, Kane, no one could make Khali look good except Cena. I am not a Cena fan, but I am becoming one as he is very entertaining.

I have seen way worse wrestlers than Cena and I don't think he's really that bad. The problem with him is:
1. He's shoved down our throats a la Hulk Hogan in the 80s
2. Him gimmick is getting stale
3. that damn spinner belt
I thought Cena was great when was a heel. A heel turn would make his gimmick fresh, but as long as his merchandise sells, that's not going to happen any time soon.

Ah boy this again. Cena is a good if not decent worker and great on the mic with alot of passion. As others said, the only problem is that he is now stale. A heel turn would work WONDERS for him because it does indeed look quite odd seeing the "top face" getting booed out of the building half or more times he's on TV. It just looks weird, it doesn't make sense it doesn't look right.
