I'm not that surprised at the 9.5...I mean, it is Zelda.

I'm not that surprised at the 9.5...I mean, it is Zelda. Yeah, I was expecting a great score. I hope they get the video review up within the next 12 hours or so though.

My Best Buy said they would have 150 in stock, which seems like a pretty high number to me. She said I should have no problem getting one though. The Toys R Us I work at just got 90+ in, so anything can happen.

I posted this in the PS3 thread but I thought I'd put it here too in case some of you guys didnt check it out:
I went in to work tonight & we had PS3 games to rent, quite a few actually. I didnt even know we got them, but apprently we've had them for several days. We've also got games for the Wii so if you happen to get one of the systems & want to rent games, check out Blockbuster. The Wii games are going out Sunday night I believe

Today I played Wii - WarioWare and RedSteel. I must say, I was REALLY disappointed with RedSteel, the gun controls were ok, it's just moving and aiming is hard - Not to mention constant animation glitching. It felt really bad in my opinion.

Just about every decent sized Best Buy should be getting 100+ of this system. I really can't imagine them being sold out.
Nintendo knows how to launch a system. Plenty of units to buy, great launch titles, and less problems than XBox or Playstation could ever dream of.

I still can't decide if I want to try and get one tonight or not. The only 2 games I am really intrested in are Zelda and Wii Sports and I'm not dying to play either one. Money is not an issue I'm just not sure I want to waste the time and stand in line.

CNET editors' review
Excellent 8.0 out of 10
The good: Revolutionary controller design offers unique motion-sensitive gameplay options; built-in Wi-Fi delivers free online services and (eventually) gameplay; Virtual Console has major nostalgia appeal; compatible with all GameCube games and controllers; built-in SD slot for storage and photo viewing; includes Wii Sports game; most affordable of all next-gen systems.
The bad: Controller eats batteries and takes some time to get used to; lacks the advanced HD graphics and surround sound found on the Xbox 360 and the PS3; requires a wired receiver unit placed near the TV to interface with wireless controllers; can't play CDs or DVDs.
The bottom line: It lacks the graphical prowess and rich media features of the Xbox 360 and the PS3, but the Nintendo Wii's combination of unique motion-sensitive controllers and emphasis on fun gameplay make the ultra-affordable console hard to resist.

I like how $250 is now "ultra-affordable."
LoL.

I love how all the reviews bitch about the lack of HD graphics, when Nintendo's been saying Wii's more about gameplay than graphics all along.

I like how $250 is now "ultra-affordable." LoL. Well, when compared to $400 and $600*, it pretty much is. *I left out the 'tard packs because frankly, they're tard packs.

Well, today is the day.
I remember first watching the e3 where the Revolution was unveiled. It was a complete mystery, and it got left in the dust due to the fact that nothing was really shown. Every Nintendo fan was aching for information. Those blog sites of "insiders" made the wait a little bit shorter. It was just entertaining to see how creative people could be with it. The Nintendo On, that visor video created by the infamous Pablo Belmonte, fooled many people...including myself, admitfully. I always wanted that video to be true. The Mario model and recycled music gave it away, but it was fun to believe for awhile.
Nintendo forced their fans to wait for new information, all the while hyping up their mystery controller. I remember some of the wacky fanmade designs. Some of those were just plain awesome. Other were simply ugly contraptions. Nintendo later reveiled their controller at the 2005 Tokyo Game Show. People were curious about it. The gaming community had a hard time accepting it. When they teased the possiblities of the remote, I instantly became a huge supporter of it. I had a tough time convincing people that this was probably a great direction to go in for Nintendo. Most my gamer friends are into it now, though.
Another legthy drought of information was to come. As e3 2006 approached, people were clamoring about what would happen this time. Nintendo announced that their new system would be called "Wii." I think about 4 people liked that name at first. I didn't care for the generic Revolution code-name, but Wii? Well, it grew on me. They showed off the Wii Music game at e3. That was awesome. That lucky guy in the audience got to play Wii Sports with Miyamoto. I actually got chills when they showed off the highly anticipated new Mario game. I know it's dorky, but I don't care. These games were looked forward to by so many people - it will bring them and myself joy, and that makes me smile. I always think about the little kid who will experience Mario for the first time.
TGS 2006 showed us the Wii Channels, which caught everyone by surprise. I don't think anybody expected Nintendo to go that route, as they've said on numerous occasions that they aren't interested in making an entertainment center. While it's true that Wii can't play cds or dvds (yet), the web browser, news updates, weather channel, and the photo viewer were nice additions to the Wii platform.
So now we're here - the Wii launches at midnight. We're finally here. I was a junior in high school when I first heard about the Wii. I've been out for half a year now. The wait seemed so long then, but now it's just around the corner. I think this whole patiently waiting experience made me realize how fast time flies by. Before we know it, the next-next generation of consoles will be on the horizon, and this will repeat itself. Crazy stuff.
I'm excited. And with that, just to safe, I'm off to find a place to wait for the Wii.

I dont know what game I want. I will be getting Zelda, but I have the cash to pick another one up too, but I cant decide. I mean, Madden has gotten really good scores, but I already own it on the 360, so I dont really want to buy it just for new controls. Monkey Ball has gotten good scores, so thats a possibility. I think Red Steel looks pretty cool, but a lot of people are saying its mediocre. I really wish IGN would get a review of it up.

My brother is picking this up tonight. Can't say I'm too excited as I know nothing about the console except for a few things.

I'll definitely buy the Wii when Smash Bros is available. Yeah, that should be a ton of fun, especially with the Wiimote. Im also surprisingly excited for Mario Party too. The Wiimote just really freshens up old franchises. *EDIT* Quick question, does anyone know when "Project HAMMER" is supposed to come out? I know it was originally scheduled as a launch title.
