I feel like I should ask, what is the big "must see" horror/thriller movie in theaters this Halloween season? Or is there even one? Paranormal Activity......

I'm going with the old school sig/avatar for Halloween.
We should set up a thing where posters in here pick a classic monster/villain and use that as their sig for the month of October.

Think this place would be good to ask. On Halloween I plan on just staying in my room all day and bingining on horror films so heres me question. Can you guys name me 8 horror films I should buy. I'd like 4 of them to be scary ones (Basically things that are gunna completely freak me out. I'll save these ones for late at night), and 4 ultra-violent ones. Thanks for any help that can be offered.

I just saw Trick R Treat! Was freaking amazing! I personally LOVED it. I can see why a lot of people hated it though.
and for Noza... I honestly thought The Orphanage was pretty scary.

Yeah it's not very likely. There is a halloween set out there though, not sure what region it is but it looks pretty nice. The closet thing out in the US is the Anchorbay set, but unless the price drops to around 25 I don't think it's worth it. Halloween blu at walmart is 10, Halloween 4 & 5 double feature is 5.

I really have to check my local Wal-Mart and see if the 4 and 5 set have hit Canada. I was gonna throw down $30 for them at a record store, but this is way better.
I'm probably throwing The Exorcist on in a few minutes. I've never been a big fan of the film, but for some really have a hufe urge to watch it lately.

What's up guys.
Just watched Trick R Treat - I thought it had it's ups and downs, but overall - I recommend it! It's a fun movie for this Halloween season.
I'm about to watch Teeth. Never saw it, but from what you guys have said - it's good stuff.
Just got back from Walmart here in the Chicago area. They had Halloween 4&5 twin pack DVD for $5.00. Happy Birthday To Me - $5 as well. For that matter, they had a whole setup of $5 scary movie DVD'S.
My top scariest movies I'll recommend : (in no particular order) lights off of course - and watch them alone!
The Strangers Fire In The Sky The Blair Witch Project Jacob's Ladder Session 9
if your looking for weird, twisted movies - go with (surprisingly) Robin Williams. One Hour Photo The Night Listener (very under rated movie) and Insomnia

I just think it's a damn good movie. Robin Williams is so under rated when it comes to playing the creepy guy role in serious movies ala the one's I named above.

It's funny, I hadn't even read that when I changed my sig to Frankenstein's monster. As for my avatar, I've had the same one for a few years now, I believe. No sense in changing it. I went to get my good old trusty VHS copy of The Exorcists tonight, and was shocked when I opened up my horror movie shelf....about 3/4 of them were missing. That's when I remembered that while my wife and I were living with my parents, the stand broke and I took the majority of the movies, boxed them and swore to fix the stand soon. So, not only do I not have The Exorcist, but I'm also missing Blair Witch, Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc. I ended up just watching The Amityville Horror remake, which is great, but I'm still disappointed. I won't make it to my parents house until the weekend, so it looks like a lot of what I planned to watch will have to wait.

Let me know what you think of it Bro. Everybody's tastes are different, but I liked it a lot! I got a question for you, as well as everyone else. PLEASE ANSWER ASAP! Have you guys seen My Bloody Valentine - 1981 and 2009? If so, which is better? Are they different? Should I rent both, and watch back to back - or will I just wind up bashing one and wasting my time by doing it that way? Please help, Thanks!

I like them both to be honest. For completely different reasons. I think I enjoy the original more. They are quite different from one another, but both enjoyable.
