So what does everyone think of Twisted Pictures taking the rights to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre away from Platinum Dunes?
Leatherface is my favorite modern horror slasher. TCM 3 and the Next Generation were sort of semi reboots in their own right...Aside from a few cameos the only films that had real story connections were the first two.
I think the remake and the prequel were just too polished to be Chainsaw films, the only saving grace was R Lee's sheriff and for the most part Leatherface.
My biggest fear would be taking it in a direction like Saw, quick editing and shakey cam.

It's hard to say right now. Sounds like they are going to go the 3D route as well.

Let us know how that turns out.
Just hit up Big lots and another Walmart. This walmart had a few different MGM Midnite Movies, but they were mainly sci-fi. I did pick up Halloween H20 for 5 dollars. Big Lots didn't have much of a selection, but I did get The Boogeyman double feature for 3 dollars along with a few non horror dvds.

I really enjoy the character of Leatherface, so even though I'd rather have some sequels along the lines of the original films, I'll sort of take what I can get. , I even enjoy TCM The Next Generation to a point...I guess that's what you'd call a guilty pleasure of mine.

Yeah. I think I enjoy TCM: The Next Gen more than most people as well. It's not that good, but it's not as bad as some say Here's a little write up I did on the first two Wrong Turn films gearing up for the release of the 3rd www.benevolentstreet.com/?p=2183

I don't mind TCM: The Next Gen either. I just wish they explained the ending somehow.

Next Gen is so ridiculous, but I've seen it atleast 5 times. McConaughey's best role, haha. ORPHAN (Jaume Collet-Serra, 2009) I get so sick of "creepy little kid" movies, thankfully this breaks the mold. Going in I knew the twist ending though it didn't tarnish the affect on me. From the terrifying opening dream sequence, I was into it. Vera Farmiga gives one of the best and most real performances of the year, matching Charlotte Gainsbourg in Antichrist when it comes to women dealing with great losses. She almost made me break down at a certain point near the end, what a convincing woman. Farmiga was recently in another "creepy little kid movie" called Joshua which was unforgivably bad. I've loved the woman ever since seeing the underrated Running Scared. The titular starmaking role of Isabelle Fuhrman needs a mention aswell, she is pure evil. Sure, there's a few cheesy over-the-top scenes with her character, but that's the screenplay's fault. The look of the film is highly admirable, very faded colors and appealing cinematography almost out of an architecture magazine. Good use of close-ups and cuts, too. When the father discovers the paintings under the blacklight, it's impressive. I don't think I remembered to breathe during the final 15 minutes, intense stuff right there. I'm glad I gave this film my time, it takes a little time to get moving, but when it does it doesn't hold back. 8.0

R Lee was the only saving grace of PD' TCM's. Leatherface looked more like a demented comic book character than scary, he was way too detailed and cartoonish for me take seriously. I always find minmalism to be the best recipe for most horror films.

Twisted Pictures should let Tobe Hooper direct the next Texas Chainsaw. Let the man complete his trilogy, damn it!

ARGH, that movie needs to hit Torrent sites. The CHUD.com review was pretty bad. I think they gave it a 3/10. Man Orphan was awesome..forgot all about it. Will need to buy when it hits.

Watched the Last House on the Left remake tonight and was really disappointed. There were way too many scenes that lacked any logic and the pacing of the movie was horrible.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels that way. I felt bad because my wife rented it and really liked it, so when she asked me what I thought I held back at first. Then I ranted for about 15 minutes about how crappy it was and what was wrong with it. She went to bed after that.

I know the feeling, if I disagree with my girlfriend on a movie I'm considered the devil.
