Edit: Happy Pizza beat me to it. Mad World by Gary Jules is the most depressing song I've ever heard. The guy talks about how the best dreams he has are the ones where he is dying

Not one mention of "Christmas Shoes" by Newsong yet?
It's also my least-favorite song of all time.

There's a new one out by Tim McGraw called "If You're Reading This (I'm Already Home)." Basically about a soldier who has been killed and his pregnant wife is reading his letter he wrote to her in the event of his death.
Some others are: Somethin to Believe in - Poison Skin - Rascal Flatts (about a girl coping w/ cancer and high school) Lie to Me - Bon Jovi Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton Somewhere over the Rainbow - some big Hawaiin guy.......have no idea how to spell his last name

There's a ton of Joshua Radin songs that are sad. Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley, and a few songs by the Cure.
