Quite a few Beatles songs were like that...and I was shocked to discover that most of those songs were written by Paul and not John. I'm glad I'm not the first one to say it. One of my favorite beetles song's is, "Run for Your Life" which to me is like the ultimate wife-beater anthem... but that's not why I like it! My all time favorite sad song is Ain't No Sunshine by Bill Withers- Such passion in that song it's unreal. Ben Harper does one hell of a cover of "Ain't no Sunshine" Its not as good as Bill's version, but its damn good.

I can't honestly figure out what works with the theme of the topic. As for my sexuality, this song will put it up for question, but I think it's fitting. "Don't Speak" No Doubt ugh. I'm embarassed for liking it, maybe even in a "kidding my self" sort of way, but it's got a somber feel to it.

The entire Tragic Kingdom album was great, or at least it was last time I listened to it a few years ago. There is no shame in digging "Don't Speak", its still a great song. You want to hear something that would be worthy of being ashamed of? One day I heard something about No Doubt reforming and going out on tour, which delighted my friends and I. We were so happy that we sang nothing but No Doubt tunes the entire ride home, which was kinda weird but fun as hell. I really do hope to reform and do at least one tour, it would be cool to catch them live.

I think I heard about the No Doubt one, it wasn't huge on my radar, but it was one of many "could be cool but never ends up seeing the light of day." Any body remember a return of the Fugees/Refugees? I blame Pras for that being just a thought.

His music isn't really depressing on a whole, but if you're ever depressed, don't listen to any Elton John music. A song like "Sad Songs(say so much)" or "I Guess Thats Why They Call It The Blues" won't help... but when I'm in a good mood, they really have no effect on me.

Bukowski by Modest Mouse, to me, has a very depressing mood and craziness to it. Considering the reference.
