Egotrip Consists of: Jeff Jarrett, Christian Cage, Brent Albright, Shane Helms, Austin Aries 2006 was an interesting year for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. They were coming up to the one year mark of Impact being televised, and ratings were remaining steady, though not fantastic. TNA President Dixie Carter almost hired Vince Russo to the creative team in September 2006, with much pressure to do so by Jeff Jarrett. But with Russo's track record, Carter opted not to hire him, and instead hired Cameron Stone, a man who was doing work for Stampede Wrestling of Calgary, and had helped out a little with Ring of Honor and his own federation. Dutch Mantell was removed from the booking team as a result of worker protest, and the booking team was changed to Jim Cornette, Cameron Stone, and Scott Da'Moore. Septembers No Surrender pay per view announced the signing of Kurt Angle to TNA, and Spike TV decided to award TNA a 2 hour time slot after Bound for Glory.
Things were heating up regarding the world title. Jeff Jarrett continued to remain the champion, but fan favorite Sting became the contender for Bound for Glory, and Kurt Angle was named enforcer for the match. TNA prepared for the biggest show in the history of the company.October 22, 2006 Quick ResultsAustin Starr won the "Kevin Nash Open Invitational X Division Gauntlet Battle Royal", earning an X-Division Championship Match. Team 3D defeated The Naturals, America's Most Wanted, and The James Gang Samoa Joe defeated Raven, Abyss, and Brother Runt in a Monsters Ball Match Eric Young defeated Larry Zbyszko in a Loser Leaves TNA Match. Chris Sabin defeated Senshi to win the X-Division Championship Christian Cage defeated Rhino in an 8 Mile Street Fight LAX defeated AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels in 6 Sides of Steel to win the NWA Tag Team Championships. Sting defeated Jeff Jarrett to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.

TNA Impact! Preview October 26, 2006
As Impact rolls into the Impact! Zone in Orlando, it guarantees to be the biggest Impact! in TNA History! The first Two-Hour broadcast will surely go down in history as a moment to remember, and Director of Authority Jim Cornette has made some great matches to start things off!
First, in tag team action, there will be a #1 Contenders match to see who will take on the Latin American Xchange for the belts first. AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels, the former champions, battle against Team 3D, who were victorious in 4 corner tag action at Bound For Glory. This match is sure ot be huge, featuring one of the best tag teams of all time up against one of the best currently. Will AJ and Daniels get a chance to regain the gold, or will Team 3D finally get their opportunity?
One of the staples of TNA is the X-Division, and on impact, everyone will bear witness to a six pack challenge, X-Division showcase! Current X-Division Champion Chris Sabin, Senshi, Petey Williams, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, and Alex Shelley compete to show off their abilities, and a win would be one that garnered a lot of bragging rights to the winner. Who will emerge victorious?
Samoa Joe was victorious in Monsters Ball, and we've found out he will officially be calling out the new champion Sting! But with Jeff Jarrett obviously wanting revenge, where will this go? Will Kurt Angle fit into any of this? Speaking of Angle, he makes his in ring debut on impact, and he will be going up against Eric Young, who was victorious at Bound for Glory.
And finally, just when you thought the Raven/Abyss saga was over, Raven has contacted TNA and has been granted a one on one match with Abyss on impact! Raven promises to have a huge surprise in store. What could this be?

Hells Yeah, Stone.
I liked TNA around this time, and they screwed it up around this time. I really think you can pull it around for them.

October 26, 2007 *Impact opens with a huge pyro display, and Mike Tenay and Don West welcome everyone to the show, and thank the fans for supporting TNA enough to get them this two hour timeslot.* X-Division ShowcaseChris Sabin vs Petey Williams vs Jay Lethal vs Sonjay Dutt vs Alex Shelley vs SenshiWhat a way to start off the first two hour broadcast. This turned out to be match of the night, and a potential match of the year for TNA. Things were crazy at first with everyone going at it, and Shelley, Sabin, and Dutt sent the other three out of the ring with hurracaranas, and then went at it themselves. A sick moment was when Shelley went on one knee in backbreaker position, and Sabin german suplexed Dutt onto his knee. Lethal made a comeback, even getting a quick lethal injection on Sabin, but Shelley drove him off with sliced bread #2. Senshi missed a kick on Shelley, and Shelley hit him with a sliced bread as well. Williams came back in, and Shelley tried to hit him with a sliced bread, but it was reversed into a canadian destroyer. Sonjay Dutt was thrown out of the ring, and Sabin and Williams battled for a while, Sabin finally nailing a cradle shock. But Alex Shelley pulled him off when he made a pin cover, and stole the pin. Winner: Alex ShelleyBackstage, Jeremy Borash interviewed Christian Cage, asking him where he would go from here. Cage responded by saying he wanted a title shot, but he probably wouldn't get one. Christian then said to prove he was the best in TNA, he was issuing an open challenge for Genesis, challenging anyone, from TNA or elsewhere to take him on.Kurt Angle vs Eric YoungNothing but a quick squash match, the crowd went absolutely nuts for Angle's entrance, and he milked the crowd for all it was worth, playing with Young like a cat and mouse, finally pouncing on him, making him tap to an Ankle lock. Winner: Kurt AngleAs Kurt Angle celebrated, Jeff Jarrett moved in from the crowd, guitar in hand. He waited until Angle turned to face him, and leveled him with a guitar shot. Jeff Jarrett grabbed a mic, and said Samoa Joe could go ahead and take a title match, because Jarrett has other business. He claimed Angle was just strolling into TNA like he owned the place, and to make matters worse, Angle cost Jarrett the title at Bound for Glory. Jarrett said he wouldn't stand for this, and that at Genesis, he was going to send Angle right back where he came from.Raven vs AbyssThis match never actually took place. Abyss made his entrance first, and when he was in the ring, Raven came onto the stage with a mic. Raven said that Abyss was stupid for coming out here, and now he'd pay. All of a sudden, "Enter Sandman" began playing, and The Sandman stepped out onto the stage next to Raven, singapore cane in hand. Raven said he recruited an old friend to help destroy Abyss once and for all. The two rushed the ring, and Abyss fought them off at first, but once Sandman started laying waste to him with the singapore cane, it was all over, and Abyss got beaten down badly.#1 Contenders Match for Tag Team TitlesTeam 3D vs AJ Styles & Christopher DanielsThis was a surprisingly good contest, with the crowd split for both teams. Team 3D almost ended it early with Ray hitting a sit down powerbomb on Daniels from the top rope, but AJ Styles broke the pin up, and then Devon took him out, the two of them brawling to the outside. Daniels attempted a small package on Ray, but he only got a two count, and Ray then started going to work. Ray got Daniels in the corner and started driving elbows into him. Daniels fought back, and got Ray down with a DDT. But before he could capitalize, Americas Most Wanted hit the ring, and Harris hit Ray with a beer bottle at the same time Storm nailed Daniels. AMW then took out Devon and Styles, and raised their arms in victory, motioning they wanted the tag titles. No ContestSamoa Joe hit the ring, and wasted no time in calling out Sting, but Sting never came out. Joe began throwing insults at Sting, when all of a sudden, the lights in the arena went out. Stings music began playing, and the lights came back on a moment late,r with Sting facing Samoa Joe. Joe demanded a chance at the title. Sting told him to bring it on at Genesis, and then they stared each other down to end the show.

The Only fault I seen in the show was Eric Young jobbing to Angle, as they were both faces. Aside from that, it was good show...plus Shelley won. Also no Starr/Nash/Shelley segments = . Still a great show.

Still a great show. I'm building to some Starr/Nash/Shelley. Think about it. Shelley won this showcase, and Starr won an X-Title match at BFG.

Sucks that Young jobbed to Angle, but the rest of the show i liked alot. Sting vs. Joe is awesome, along with Jarrett/Angle. I hope Double J owns his ass, and sends him back to the E'. Hope 3D doesnt get another shot at the Tag Titles. I hate them soooo much. Good IMPACT bro.

Impact Preview November 2, 2006
After the first two hour impact, things are heating up in TNA, with the tag team title picture a major part of that. AMerica's Most wanted ruined the contenders match, and now, on Impact, the two teams that were attempting to get a title shot will work together. AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, and Team 3D will team up to take on AMW and LAX! This is an absolutely huge match, with severe implications! What will go down with the top four tag teams in one match?
Also, Alex Shelley surprised everyone by winning the X-Division showcase. However, his spotlight may already be over, as his partner, Austin Starr, has chosen to cash in his X-Division Title match this week against Chris Sabin! What will Shelley have to say, and will Starr win the gold?
Jeff Jarrett made his opinion on Kurt Angle known on impact, after brutally attacking him after his match with Eric Young. This week on Impact, Angle will try to send a message back, as he takes on Jarretts old partner, Scott Steiner, in one on one action! Will Jarrett get involved? And what will happen between Sting and Samoa Joe? Will they have anything to do with each other after Joe's challenge for Genesis was accepted?

Yay, Shelly won the X-Division 6-Way, Shelly 4 X Champion!
Raven/Sandman is interesting...
I liked the main event. I can see it being some kind of three way with the tag belts, hopefully AJ/Daniels win. I really like them teaming up. Good show man, I will be reading the next one...

Newswire
-Spike TV are said to be very happy with the first two hour impact.
-Dixie Carter is said to have wanted Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle to feud immediately, but Cameron Stone and Jim Cornette both agreed it would be better to wait for a while, so it is more anticipated. Jeff Jarrett is expected to be taking a lot of time off soon, and the feud with Angle is a way to send him off.
-Christian Cage is currently working with a minor injury, that being the reason for the open challenge at Genesis. It keeps him away from major storylines for now. No word on who the opponent is, but TNA are trying very hard to sign a former WWE superstar. This individual apparently wanted nothing to do with TNA previously, but is considering doing a match, and then seeing where the product goes. If he thinks TNA is doing well, he may join the full time roster. There are many others who may be the opponent if this plan fails.
-Frankie Kazarian is resigned to TNA. He will most likely return to team with Matt Bentley, as TNA really wants to build a strong tag division, as that is where they feel WWE is really lacking, and they may be able to draw more viewers in that way.

The first show actually went pretty well, people can complain about Eric Young being jobbed but there isn't really many other people to chose from. Maybe Elix Skipper would of been a better choice.
The alliance of Raven and The Sandman is cool, would actually like to see the tag straps on them soon. Whether they beat the LAX for them or not. Alex Shelley winning the X-Division brawl match was cool, would love for him to get a run with the belt. but a Star feud would be awesome at the same time.
The main event was a good read, leaves loads of matches open. AMW vs LAX would be pretty cool, and LAX vs Styles/Daniels never disapointied. As much as people dislike Team 3D now adays, I also think LAX vs Team 3D were some solid matches.

November 2, 2006 Christian Cage came down to the ring and cut a promo, saying that no matter who accepted his open challenge, he would be victorious. Jim Cornette made his way out, and told Cage that he should be more specific next time, and specify he was accepting challenges from any one challenger. Cage looked on in anger and disbelief, and Cornette confirmed that two men had accepted his open challenge, and wouldn't reveal themselves until the Pay per view.
AMW & LAX vs Team 3D & AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels This was a great way to start off the wrestling portion of Impact, with frequent tags by both teams keeping this match at a fast pace. James Storm looked the most impressive, almost getting the win after reversing a superplex attempt from Styles into a sidewalk slam off the top rope. The ending came pretty suddenly and unexpectedly, as both members of LAX went into the ring after Storm tagged in Homicide. Storm and Harris all of a sudden attacked LAX from behind, brutally, with Harris smashing a beer bottle over the head of Hernandez. Since they were on the same team, there was no DQ, and then AMW took out Styles and Daniels. This left Team 3D to hit Hernandez with a 3D for the pin. Winners: Team 3D, AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels
Backstage, America's Most Wanted told the world that they didn't work with anyone else, and that nobody could hang with them. They demanded an opportunity at the tag titles at Genesis, stating they had made the most impact of any team so far. But then, Team 3D came out of nowhere, attacking them with chairs. Ray said that it was Team 3D's time to shine again, and no punks were going to get in their way.
X-Division Championship Chris Sabin vs Austin Starr This match was pretty good, but quite short, and a little disappointing. Sabin worked over the head and neck area of Starr, but Starr began to make his comeback, but as Starr was on the top rope, getting ready to hit the 450, Alex Shelley came to ringside, and began yelling at Starr. Starr looked at Shelley, and made some comments, quite angry, but the distraction allowed Sabin to get to the rope, and pull Starr off, sending him crashing to the mat. A Cradle Shock later, and Sabin retained the strap. Winner: Chris Sabin
The cameras went backstage, where trainers were calling for paramedics. The camera zoomed in a little, and Sting was on the ground, bleeding profusely from his head. Medics got to the scene and began attending to Sting.
Petey Williams vs Shark Boy A bit more than your usual squash, Shark Boy did his usual comedy spots, and then reversed a canadian destroyer into a pin attempt, but Petey kicked out, and successfully nailed the move for the win. Winner: Petey Williams
Backstage, Alex Shelley was hanging out with Kevin Nash when Austin Starr came in the room, visibly pissed off. Starr: What the hell was that out there alex? What do you think you're trying to pull? I thought we were on the same page! Shelley: Relax man, we are on the same page, I was just trying to give you some moral support out there, that's all! Starr: Support, that's what you call that? I can get more support from a training bra than that! At That comment, Nash just starts laughing. Shelley and Starr look at him for a second, and then continue arguing.
Kurt Angle vs Scott Steiner This match was pretty much a cluster, as most Steiner matches are these days. However, it was an entertaining cluster that saw Steiner lock Angle in the ankle lock, and then see him use an Olympic slam. But Angle kicked out of that, and hit an Olympic slam of his own. Then Angle grinned, and locked in a Steiner Recliner, which made Scott tap in a few moments. Winner: Kurt Angle
After the match, Jeff Jarrett made a run in with a guitar, but when he swung it at Angle, Angle ducked, and hit an Olympic Slam. Then Angle grabbed the guitar, and when Jarrett got up to his knees, Angle brought it down over his head, getting a huge pop from the crowd.
