November 19, 2006 Mike Tenay and Don West are at the broadcast booth, and the welcome everyone to Genesis. They run down the card, focusing mainly on Jarrett and Angle's rivalry, as well as Sting and Samoa Joe battling for the title.
Hardcore Hell Abyss & Brother Runt vs Raven & Sandman A good brawl to open the show, with Runt surprisingly holding his own against Sandman, avoiding his singapore cane shots early, and almost nailing a dudley dog, but Sandman turned that into an atomic drop like move, and Sandman began going to work on Runt with the cane, nailing several shots on the head and back, and then he began choking Runt out with the cane. Meanwhile, Abyss and Raven battled around ringside, Raven using a chair to his advantage before Abyss clocked him with the ringbell. The two of them brawled to the announce table, and Sandman, having beaten up Runt, came to help Raven, clocking Abyss with the cane. Raven got Abyss in a position for a Raven Effect on the table, but Abyss threw Raven off the table, onto Sandman. Brother Runt grabbed a barbed wire baseball bat, and ran over, driving it into Raven's back, and then, while they brawled for a while more, Abyss hit Sandman with a black hole slam onto some thumbtacks for the win. Winners: Abyss & Runt
The Naturals vs Kazarian & Bentley This match was pretty short and disappointing. Kazarian and Bentley were madly over, and the Naturals got pretty much no reaction. It went back and forth early on, and the Naturals tried to steal a win with Chase Stevens rolling up Kazarian and grabbing the tights, but Bentley broke up the pin. Douglas and Bentley ended up battling to the outside, and Kazarian nailed Stevens with the Wave of the Future to win. Winners: Bentley & Kazarian
Backstage, Christian Cage is interviewed by Jeremy Borash regarding the handicap situation. Cage says it doesn't matter who he faces, he is not afraid, and it's probably just two new punks that want to make a name for themselves at his expense.
Christian Cage vs Travis Tomko & Giant Bernard Christian Cage, Tenay and West, and the fans were all absolutely shocked at this one. Bernard started off with Cage, and went on a spree of offense, almost getting a quick win with his old sit down powerbomb move, but Cage wouldn't go down that easily. Once Tomko came in, Cage tried talking with him, reasoning on how they used to be buddies. Tomko looked thoughtfully at that, and then offered a huge to Christian. Christian accepted it, and Tomko smiled, and delivered a belly to belly suplex! Tomko waiting for Cage to get up, and delivered a big boot to his head, and then dropped down and made the cover. Winners: Tomko & Bernard
NWA Tag Team Championships LAX vs Styles & Daniels vs Team 3D vs AMW This match was everywhere, and the crowd loved it. Each team showed what it could do, with everyone jumping Americas Most Wanted to begin with before going after each other. Hernendez got a holy **** chant when he border tossed Chris Harris to the outside, but the crowd loved when everyone but the two big guys, Ray and Hernandez got taken down. Ray and Hernandez exchanged some fists before trying to clothesline each other down. When that failed, Hernandez set Ray up for a border toss, but Devon low blowed Hernandez, and they hit a 3D on him. AJ Styles broke up that pin, and went for a styles clash on Devon, but James Storm hit him with a superkick, and Devon folowed that into a rollup, which Homicide broke up. James Storm went for a superkick on Homicide, who ducked, and hit a Gringo Killer. Hernandez took Daniels out with a clothesline, and Homicide pinned Storm to retain. Winners: LAX
Kurt Angle is getting ready for his match in his locker room, when Scott Steiner walks in. Angle asks Steiner what he wants, and Steiner says he wants to help. Angle asks what he needs help with, Steiner replies that Monty Brown will probably interfere, and if he does, then Angle has no worries, as Steiner will take it to Brown. Angle thanks him for that.
X-Division Championship Chris Sabin vs Austin Starr vs Alex Shelley Talk about keeping the X-Division a big picture in TNA! This is a possible match of the year for TNA, all three men absolutely put their hearts into it, and to make it even better, Nash was on commentary. It started off with Shelley and Starr working together with a lot of unease, and sure enough, it erupted, with Sabin caught in the middle, there were strings of moves with reversals, only for the extra man to get a move in any ways. For example, Sabin went to german suplex Shelley, and Shelley landed on his feet behind Sabin. But before Shelley could do anything, Austin Starr hit a neckbreaker. Then Sabin spun around and connected with a dropkick to Starr. One of the more groan inspiring spots was Starr getting down on his knee in backbreaker position, to have Shelley german suplex Sabin onto the outstretched leg and knee of Starr. Shelley then went for a sliced bread #2 on Starr, but when Shelley got on the top rope, Starr pushed him off, sending Shelley to the floor hard. Sabin tried to get a cradle shock in, but Starr countered into a brainbuster, an then followed up with a 450 splash to win the X-Division title. Winner: Austin Starr
A video highlighting the Sting/Samoa joe feud plays, including the brutal attack on Sting, as well as Sting's vicious assault on Joe with the black baseball bat. It ends with Joe stating he never attacked Sting.
Kurt Angle vs Jeff Jarrett A surprisingly good match. Everyone was looking forward to this one, but wasn't expecting an overly amazing match, but they really delivered. Jarrett got frustrated early on, as Angle reversed all his move attempts, and then laughed in his face. Jarrett finally got a thumn to the eye in and went to work, but Angle pushed off an early stroke attempt, only to have Jarrett take out the referee. This led to Monty Brown coming down to aid Jarrett, but true to his word, Scott Steiner came down to help. Steiner knocked Brown out of the ring, and hit Jarrett with a belly to belly. Steiner and Jarrett brawled into the crowd, and battled through the entire impact zone and Angle and Jarrett continued to battle inside the ring. Jarrett began targeting Angle's left knee, hitting several stiff strikes to it, and then Jarrett locked in the figure four. Kurt Angle was in apin, but he sat upright, despite it causing more pain, and began to hammer shots at Jarrett's head. Jarrett broke off the hold, and then walked into an Olympic Slam. Angle went for the ankle lock, but Jarrett had him scouted, and kicked him off. Jarrett landed a stroke in, and locked in another figure four. Angle again sat up, and began raining right hands on Jarrett, but this time, Jarrett kept the hold on, even though Angle had cut him above the eye. Finally, Angle had no choice but to tap out. Winner: Jeff Jarrett
The crowd was pretty upset with angle tapping out, and Jeff Jarrett grabbed his guitar from ringside to finish the job. As he went to hit Angle, Angle ducked and used a takedown oin Jarrett, and began raining right hands down. Angle grabbed the guitar, and smashed it on top of Jarrett's ankle! Angle then locked in an ankle lock, keeping on the hold until security got him off Jarrett.
NWA World Heavyweight Championship Sting vs Samoa Joe Samoa Joe came out like a monster, using his size and strength advantage to beat Sting down brutally. Joe took Sting around the outside of the ring, and used the side of the ring, the steel steps, and the ringpost on Sting, busting him open. The red blood trickled down through the white paint, and when that happened, Sting struck back like a man possessed. As joe went for the Clutch, Sting elbowed him in the face repeatedly to get out of it. Sting hit Joe with a DDT, but Joe fought back with a tigerbomb a few moments later. As the two continued to wage war, a man ran into the ring with a steel chair! Rhino! Rhino blasted Joe with the chair, and gored Sting, making the match a No Contest No Contest
Rhino grabbed a mic after the assault, and said that he was the man who attacked Sting a few weeks ago on Impact. Rhino said he was sick of being overlooked, and that he was just as badass as Samoa Joe, and just as good as Sting. Rhino said he wanted the title, and that even Joe and Sting together couldn't stop him for attaining it.

Shit. Joe vs .Sting going to a no contest is a big letdown, as i was hoping Joe would get the belt. Jarrett gets the win? YES! YES! Sucks that Austin Star won the X Division belt, i would have rather preferred Shelley. LAX winning was great. Tomko & Bernard as Cage's opponents was a VERY good move. This waas one of your best shows so far, and i liked everything besides the end of the TNA World Title Match.

Too soon to give Joe the belt. Sting lost the title one month after he won it in 06, which was a big mistake, considerinf there were like 3 title changes in a four month span.

I would have preferred Sting/ Joe going to a clean finish, but I understand why it went to a no contest, and if it leads to Sting/ Joe/ Rhino then it's all good. I was pulling for Shelley to get the win, although I have no problem with Starr getting the title. Good to see LAX retain, and Tomko/ Bernard being brought in.

Alright, another well deserved duaner reply: Not too keen on Runt/Abyss winning for some reason. Really wanted to see Sandman/Raven pick up the win. No biggie though. Sounded like a solid matchup. YAY! Bentley/Kazarian went over. All is right with the World. Awesome awesome awesome. Tomko/Bernard is awesome to bring in bro. Happy to see them working under TNA. OH YES! Starr with the win. So awesome. Finally, he gets some damn respect. Thank the lord for Jarrett winning. I don't like Angle at all, so hooray! As for the main event, felt it was the RIGHT move. Joe isn't there just yet. Happy to see a no contest. Excellent PPV. 9/10!

Impact Preview November 23, 2006
After a huge Genesis PPV, Impact rolls around, and there are sure to be some major things happening, especially regarding the NWA World Heavyweight Championship! After Rhino surprised everyone and made the match between Sting and Samoa Joe a No Contest, Jim Cornette has decided to reward Rhino! Yes, Cornette said exclusively on TNAwrestling.com that he likes the fact that Rhino is showing initiative, and Rhino will be going one on one with Sting on Impact! With the NWA World Heavyweight Title on the line! Will Rhino make the most out of a surprising chance? And will Samoa Joe be there, angry for his chance at the title being ruined?
Travis Tomko and Giant Bernard answered Christian Cage's open challenge at Genesis, and won. Now, Christian Cage is calling them to the ring, saying he has an offer he cannot refuse!
Abyss and Brother Runt claimed victory over Sandman and Raven at Genesis, but Raven has told Abyss he'll be having a surprise waiting for him on Impact! What does Raven have planned?

the signing of gibson and albright automatically makes me a fan of this diary.
genesis was a decent show. although i'm, not usually a fan of the main event no finish, i thought it worked here, and i've always liked rhino and the possibility of a triple threat match sounds good.
good stuff, i'll try and keep up with things.

November 23, 2006 Impact started with Christian Cage calling Tomko and Bernanrd down to the ring, and they came down immediately. Cage said that he wanted to form a faction with them, as their size and power, coupled with his well rounded wrestling style, would be unstoppable in TNA, and the fact that Tomko and he used to be a team helped. Tomko interrupted Cage there, saying they were never a team, that Tomko was always just Christian's lacky, and he wasn't putting up with that crap again. Cage responded by saying if they knew what was good for them, they'd accept the offer. At this, Bernanrd and Tomko jumped Cage, beating him senseless in the ring.
Sonjay Dutt vs Petey Williams A good opening match, Dutt opened up by using his incredibly speed and acrobatic ability to avoid Williams and land some attacks, but Bobby Roode distracted the referee, and Williams hit a low blow followed by a Canadian destroyer for the pin. Winner: Petey Williams
Abyss came down to the ring, accompanied by James Mitchell. Mitchell started insulting Raven, saying that the last time he had a surprise for the Abyss, the Sandman, Abyss had no problem dealing with it. Raven came out on stage, and said he was going to let actions speak louder than words. Sandman and LAX came out onto the stage, with Hernandez holding Brother Runt, who was soaked in blood and knocked out. Hernandez threw his body to the side, and LAX, Raven, and Sandman rushed the ring to attack abyss. Mitchell and Abyss got out of the ring in time, and escaped, Abyss and Mitchell both seething with anger.
Kazarian vs Shark Boy Sadly, nothing but a quick filler match, but it pushed Kazarian, so it wasn't all bad. Shark Boy hit his usual comedy spots, and then surprised Kazarian with a float over DDT, but Kazarian hit a wave of the future a few seconds later for the win. Winner: Kazarian
Backstage, AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels were talking, and they decided for now to split up their tag team, as each of the mwanted to pursue the NWA World Championship. They embraced in a quick hug, and walked off.
Jeff Jarrett & Monty Brown vs Kurt Angle & Scott Steiner Announced on the spot, the crowd was happy, and though it wasn't nearly as good as last weeks match with Sabin in Steiners place, it still was great. Steiner was dominant, forcing Jarrett to tag in Brown, to which the crowd went nuts. Brown and Steiner didn't lock up, they began throwing right hands at each other, and brawled to the outside of the ring backstage. The referee shrugged, and named Angle and Jarrett the legal men. They locked up, and Angle began to get a clear cut advantage, before Jarrett hit a lwo blow for the DQ. Jarrett left the ring, wanting nothing to do with Angle. Winner: Kurt Angle & Scott Steiner
Jim Cornette was in his office, and he announced that at Turning Point, to please the fans and the crowd at the Hammerstein Ballroom, the X-Division Title would be defended in a three way rematch from Genesis, with Sabin, Starr, and Shelley. After tonigh,t there were only two more shows until Turning Point, so tonight, it would be Austin Starr and Chris Sabin fighting. Next week, Alex Shelley would face Chris Sabin. And finally, on the last show before turning point, Starr and Shelley would be facing off, with Kevin Nash an the guest referee.
Chris Sabin vs Austin Starr Time on impact was winding down, so they only had about eight minutes, but they were a damn good eight minutes. They started by trading a variety of rollups, but only getting two counts. Austin Starr finally changed things up, kicking Sabin in the side of the head, and pinned him, only getting a two. Sabin pulled Starrs legs from under him, and hit a knee to the face, and climbed on the top rope. But Starr recovered, and climbed up after him. They fought for a few seconds, before Starr hit a brainbuster from the top for a surprise pinfall. Winner: Austin Starr
Samoa Joe was walking backstage, and Jim Cornette stopped him. Joe was angry about Rhino's title shot, and Cornette told Joe to show him some fire if he wanted another chance. Joe said there would be more than fire.
NWA World Heavyweight Championship Sting vs Rhino Rhino just came after Sting like a madman, even more furious than Samoa Joe was at Genesis. Sting literally didn't get a move in until he dodged a gore, sending Rhino into the ringpost. Sting took advantage of this, and locked in an armbar, but Rhino fought out. At that moment. Samoa Joe came in the ring with a chair, and laid out both men, making this title match a no contest, just like Rhino did to him at Genesis. Joe then nailed Rhino with a musclebuster, and then hit Sting with a chairshot, standing tall to end Impact. NO Contest

First off...ALBRIGHT? GODDDD. GIBSON <3333.
iMPACT #5 Review:
Hmm, if they know whats good for them. I wonder. Poor Cage. :-( Good booking with Williams/Dutt and even better with Williams winning. Good opener. Haha, I love the LAX/Sandman/Raven faction going on, awesome segment here, although I don't like Abyss running for some reason. Oh well. HOORAY for Kazarian. I love teh fillers. Good AJ/Chrissy segment here. I can actually see that happening. Angle/Steiner winning is iiffy. I rather see Jarrett & Brown pwn them, but hey, still enjoying the show. Nice Cornette, nice. STARR WITH ANOTHER WIN! Awesome booking job here Stoney. Digging the main event, especially with Rhino with it. Good ending bro. Solid show.
8/10

Turning Point is gonna kick ass! Gibson/Albright in TNA would be awesome, especially when they used talent instead of putting them in crappy comedy angles. I like Starr/Sabin being harder than Angle's match. Rhino/Sting could actually be really good in real life, if built right. I like how Joe's getting that push instead of losing match after match after match to Angle.
As Duan gave you:

Replying to Genesis & the last impact. First off both shows were great.
The Sting/Joe/Rhino feud is going great and I like how all 3 men are being booked in it so far, can't wait for more of it, I also like the whole X-Divison title pic and Starr being X Champ is great. All of your feuds are going great and I love the guys your bringing in. Great stuff keep it up.
