Impact Preview February 15, 2007
The fallout from Against All Odds goes down on Impact this week, and a hell of a lot is sure to go on, as it will be the biggest Impact of the year so far!
Part of the deal for Tomko to be at ringside with Kurt Angle at Against All Odds was that he recieve a TNA World Title match in return if Angle walked out champion. Thanks to Tomko, Angle retained, and Tomko is wasting no time, cashing in that title shot this week. He looks to have the advantage, as he didn't compete in a match like Angle, but you can never count out the Olympic Gold Medalist! Who will win this huge clash? Will Rhino and his lackeys let things go with Tomko for costing him the match on Sunday?
Jim Cornette has promised a huge announcement regarding the X-Division Championship at next month's Destination X pay per view event. Will it be what everyone is expecting, and have to do with Ultimate X?
Speaking of the X-Division Title, Kazarian successfully defeated Brent Albright to retain the gold. Now this week, James Gibson returns from injury, and will team with Albright to take on Kazarian and Matt Bentley.
Team 3D defended the tag team titles against Samoa Joe and Christian Cage at Against All Odds. This week, Team 3D will be looking for a team to challenge for their titles at Destination X. Who will step up to the challenge, and who will Team 3D choose if there is more than one team?
In another absolutely huge match, Samoa Joe will battle AJ Styles, who won a brutal ladder match at Against All Odds securing him a TNA Championship match whenever he wants it. AJ will no doubt still be banged up, but he is always phenominal.
All this and more on a huge Impact!

The Aries and Shelley match sounded awesome. I loved it. Only to make it better that Shelley won. The whole PPV was just plain out awesome. I loved the Daniels and A.J match. I didn't like however that Rhino was in the main event. I am so glad Angle won and I am glad that Kazarian got the X-Division Title. The iMPACT Preview sounds awesome aswell. I can't wait for the TNA iMPACT results. Oh yeah, the format/lay-out looks awesome.

February 15, 2007 Impact kicked off with Jim Cornette coming down to the ring. He said a tradition of TNA is to have an Ultimate X Match at Destination X every year, and this year would be no different. On March 11 there will be an Ultimate X. He said it would be a four man match, with the champion Kazarian and Brent Albright in the match automatically, because he was so impressed with their match on Sunday, and he wanted to see Albright out of his element, and how he would perform. Cornette said the other two spots would be decided, one tonight and one next week in qualifying matches, with the first one being right now.
Ultimate X Qualifier Chris Sabin vs Sonjay Dutt vs Senshi vs Puma Great match, and since Senshi has been gone for a while, and seeing Puma make an appearance, it was a really good match for the audience. Puma almost surprised the hell out of everyone when he almost got Dutt with a rollup, but Senshi broke the pin with a double foot stomp to the back of Puma, and then Senshi turned into a cradle shock, giving Sabin the win. Winner: Chris Sabin
Backstage, Team 3D was sitting at a table in a room, waiting for tag teams to challenge them for the tag team titles. Lance Hoyt and Ron Killings made their way to the table, and said they wanted a chance. Team 3D said fine, the match is set for next week, because they aren't worth a PPV match. Team 3D started making fun of them, saying it would be an easy victory.
Kazarian & Matt Bentley vs Brent Albright & James Gibson Another good match to keep the ball rolling, Gibson looked good in his return, although, since Albright has made a lot of strides as a singles wrestler being pushed, he might be lost in the shuffle. Bentley went for a tornado DDT on Albright, but Albright caught him as he tried to twirl around, and he threw him roughly to the mat and locked in the Crowbar, forcing the submission. Winners: Brent Albright & James Gibson
Back to Team 3D backstage, the two are sitting there looking bored, when a bandaged up Christopher Daniels walks up to the table. Ray asks what he wants, and Senshi and Elix Skipper walk up behind him, making Team 3D surprised. Daniels says that if Team 3D beats Hoyt and Killings next week, that Triple X wants a tag title match at Destination X. Daniels says Destination X seems a fitting PPV name for the return of Triple X. The three men walk off laughing.
Samoa Joe vs AJ Styles This wasn't the greatest match considering who was involved, but it sure as hell passed as a good match for Impact, making this an awesome broadcast. AJ didn't go for as many high energy moves, selling the fact that he was still worn out from the ladder match, but this one ended prematurely. Samoa Joe hit Styles with a musclebuster, only for Christian Cage to come running down to the ring with a steel chair, and take out Joe, making a DQ. Winner: Samoa Joe
After the attack on Joe, as AJ Styles got up, Christian leveled him with the chair too. Cage grabbed a mic and said that enough was enough, he co-existed with Samoa Joe at Against All Odds, and now, he wants a shot at the TNA Title.
Austin Aries vs Johnny Devine Devine is a former partner of Alex Shelley from before Aries got involved with Paparazzi Productions, and he requested this match because of what Aries did to Shelley at Against All Odds. Devine tried valiantly, hitting some good arm drags and suplexes, but Aries would ultimately connect with a brainbuster for the pin. Winner: Austin Aries
Post match, Aries dragged Devine out of the ring, and pulled the steel steps away from the ring a little bit. He stuck in Devine's head, and then kicked the steps, crushing the head of Devine in between the steps and the ring. Blood poured from Johnny's head as paramedics rushed to aid him, as Austin Aries said that he was going to hurt Alex Shelley and everyone that tries to defend him.
TNA World Championship Kurt Angle vs Tomko This was a short match, but sure built things up. The two stared each other down for a couple moments, and they teased locking up a few times before they did. Tomko was clearly over powering Angle, and looking like he was going to control things, but then Rhino, Bobby Roode and Petey Williams rushed down to the ring and attacked both men, making it a no contest. No Contest
Angle and Tomko were both fighting back pretty well, but the numbers game was catching up to them when all of a sudden, the music of Abyss hit. Rhino looked shocked as Abyss came running down the ramp! Abyss got into the ring and started cleaning house, and him, Tomko and Angle dumped all three of their counterparts out of the ring. Tomko grabbed a mic. He called out Jim Cornette, who came onto the ramp with a mic of his own. Tomko said he wanted another shot at the title since his was ruined. Cornette said that final details would be sorted out later, but all 6 men just witnessed, Abyss, Tomko, Angle, Rhino, Roode and Williams, would be involved in the main event of Destination X.

I haven't read much of this diary so far, but from what I've seen out of the past couple of shows, things are really interesting. You're one of the first guys that I've seen use Puma on here, as well, which is an absolute plus. Keep pushing Austin Aries, too.
I'll try to read this diary as much as I can from now on, but I can't guarantee it. Until next time, keep up the great work, Cameron.

PROS -Getting all of your main event stars involved at Destination X is great -Cage turning on Joe can make for an awesome match at DX -The Ultimate X is going to be a hardcore match once again, cannot wait to see the 4 person in the match..maybe Styles or Bentley? -Triple X coming back and feuding with the champs gives them credibility again
CONS -Seeing as how christian wants a title shot, and angle being involved in another match. it kind of ruins that just a bit -Killings and Hoyt just seems like a really odd pairing to me

Nice to see this still going Cam. Great to see the UX returning and Kaz in UX = awesome already. Joe/AJ on free TV? From what you wrote didn't sound as good as I would think. Would have prefered AJ winning tbh. Main Event was a solid one. Not a fan of Tomko but the ending was cool. Abyss coming down was great as well man. Great show here. Keep up the good work

impact was good.
good choice for an opener. glad sabin won.
have loved the gibson/albright team forever.
few to many consecutive 3d segs for my liking. but i love triple x so it evens out.
good continuation of the cage/joe stuff. i like that you deicded not to end a ppv match like joe/styles cleanly on impact and the after match stuff was nicely executed.
good stuff with aries and devine. the tie in with paparazzi productions played nicely. glad aries got the win. shelley/aries will be awesome when you get to it. i'd hold it off for a while and really build it up as a money match.
not sure i like the involvement of petey williams in the main event scene, but the rest work well. hoping tomko wins at destination x.
good show overall, nice continuation of angles and feuds. and destination x is shaping up to be a solid event.

Wrestling Observer February 18, 2007
- Kurt Angle is bona fida TNA's biggest face right now, and is expected to keep the TNA World Championship for at least a few more months, probably until Slammiversary or Victory Road. He himself, however, isn't strictly for that. He wants to legitimately build TNA up well, so he has made it known to Dixie Carter and the booking team that if they want to take the belt off him earlier, by all means to do so. He is very well liked in the back, and is seen as the locker room leader. He is also the man who recommended Brent Albright to be signed. TNA 9s considering making Angle's first feud upon losing the title against Albright
- The long awaited, anticipated match of Kurt Angle vs Samoa Joe might happen at Lockdown. TNA made sure not to rush into that one when Angle was signed, and since Bound For Glory, ratings and income have been on the rise. This is seen as their biggest match they could possibly put on right now, so there is just as good of a chance that it will not happen at Lockdown, and it will be saved for a future date. Creative has tossed around the idea of doing it at Bound For Glory, a full year after Angle's arrival. It may happen then, but some creative members don't want to wait quite that long, so one plan would call for it to happen at Victory Road, and then there would be no rematch until Bound For Glory.
- Angle will most likely retain the championship at Destination X, 99% guaranteed. The match, yet to be announced, will be a Six Man 30 Minute Gauntlet, where it is No DQ and falls count anywhere. They will all fight tornado style for 30 minutes, the only man being eligible to be pinned being whoever holds the title belt. Whoever is holding the belt at the end wins a match.
- It will either be Samoa Joe or Christian Cage wrestling for the title at Lockdown.
- AJ Styles will probably not be cashing in his title match anytime soon.

iMPACT was pretty good, Cam. I love Gibson/Albright on a team, and Joe/AJ sounded pretty good, for what it was. It sucks AJ won't be cashing in his title shot soon, though. The six man gauntlet sounds pretty fun, hopefully it's one of those "half good wrestling, half good brawling" kind of deals. I like it, keep up the fun shows.

Nice way to start Impact. I loved the first match on there, it sounded so sweet. Nice segment after the match. OK I wanted Kaz to beat the hell out of the challengers and win, but w/e sounded good. Nice segment after that match, I love how you have team 3-D. Joe vs Styles...<3 every time one is held it always seems to be good, but loved this! Another nice segment. I wanted Devine to win his match personally. Nice post match stuff. Also I wish the main event would have had a winner.
Overall I liked the show, and am loving your diary...Keep up the good work.

I liked iMPACT!, seemed like a really good show. The opening contest was good, the ending was really cool. I could picture Don West screaming when it happened, haha. The Aries/Devine had a story behind it, and made sense why they went up against each other. I expected Aries to go over, but I ain't complaining. The main event was great, and a Kurt Angle/Brent Albright feud could be really interesting, although Albright just dosn't seem like "main event" material to me, but I'm sure you'll build him up.

Good to hear that you will be utilizing Ultimate X, the match is already looking great, and I cant wait to see who the fourth participant will be. I really hope we get to see a Triple X title reign, so I am looking forward to their reunion. I liked Cage taking out both Joe and AJ, and I really hope you give him a title match. The main event of Destination X is sounding cool, and I look forward to the title change possibilities in that match.

- TNAWrestling.com today confirmed that the main event of Destination X would be a six man gauntlet for the World Championship, with whoever possessed the title at the end of the time limit being the champion. As an added bit of information, and title switches during the match do not get counted in title histories, so if Angle or Rhino walk out as world champion, any of the others who held the title in the match will not be considered former TNA Champions. February 22, 2007 Impact kicks off with Jim Cornette coming down to the ring. He puts over the World Championship match at Destination X by saying that it gives people like Roode, Williams and Tomko their shot at the title, while providing a challenge for the champion and entertainment for the fans. Cornette reiterated that it would be falls count anywhere. Cornette then said that however, Tomko's chance at the title was ruined, and that even though he might only be champion for two weeks, that tonight, Kurt Angle would defend the title against Tomko. He said that if anyone in the gauntlet match interferes, they will be removed from the match.
Ultimate X Qualifier Jay Lethal vs Christopher Daniels vs Matt Bentley vs James Gibson Sabin, Albright and Kazarian all came down to watch this, because each was scouting the competition, and had a friend/partner in the match. This was a good bout, though not as good as the four way match last week. Another good ending stretch saw Lethal hit the Lethal Injection on Gibson, to turn into an Angels Wings, giving Daniels the pin. Winner: Christopher Daniels
Senshi and Elix Skipper came down and celebrated with Daniels, but Team 3D crashed the party. Team 3D had been getting face results lately, but compared to Triple X, they were booed badly. Team 3D says that any hope of Triple X walking out of Destination X with the Tag Team Titles was gone, since Daniels is competting in the Ultimate X. They said Skipper and Senshi are just nothing but hacks now. These comments seemed made up, as you could tell Team 3D was originally going to be playing faces, but they played heel to the crowd reaction, showing how porfessional and smart they are in the business, they drew a lot of heat. Daniels said that was a laugh, and that Team 3D, the so called "greatest" tag team in wrestling history, was going to fall to the greatest faction in history. He said Destination X was going to be their night, when every member of XXX walked out with a championship. Team 3D said that they should scout this next match, and see who they are up against.
TNA Tag Team Championships Team 3D vs Lance Hoyt & Ron Killings Team 3D absolutely killed these guys, less than a minute, Killings went for his spinning elbow move, which Ray ducked under, sending Killings to the mat hard. Devon dumped Hoyt out of the ring, and distracted the referee, which allowed ay to low blow Killings and hit the Brother Cutter for the win. This seemed made up on the spot to get more heel heat with the dirty tactics as well. Winners: Team 3D
Alex Shelley walked into Jim Cornette's office, and said with what Austin Aries did to him at Against All Odds, and what he did to Johnny Devine last week, he wanted a match with Aries at Destination X. Cornette said he respects Shelley a lot, and that he is pissed off with what Aries did to Devine last week, so he'll give Shelley a chance for revenge. Cornette booked Aries vs Shelley at Destination X, with no disqualifications. Shelley thanked Cornette, who said not to worry, that Destination X is now officially a PPV where every match is No DQ, in response to the fans.
AJ Styles vs Rhino This was a very good match, featuring one of the #1 contenders, and someone that can be a contender whenever he wants to be. Styles tried to keep it fast paced, Rhino tried to keep him grounded. The end result was Styles hitting an amazing counter, jumping over a Gore, timed perfectly to land right behind Rhino. Styles then backflipped over the head of Rhino, who had stopped but was still leaned over from his gore attempt. This put Styles right in position over Rhino to set him up for the Styles Clash, which he hit to get him the pin. Winner: AJ Styles
Post Match, while AJ Styles was celebrating, Jeff Jarrett came from out of nowhere, and smashed a guitar over his head, taking him down. Styles got to his feet fairly quickly, to be met with a Gore. Jarrett then hit a Stroke, and walked to the back with Rhino.
Christian Cage vs Puma Another appearance by Puma, and another impressive showing. Too bad he won't be around long, because of tour commitments. He hit Cage with a lot of stiff looking kicks, and then a german suplex, before setting up for a double arm suplex. Cage kicked him in the gut and twisted around a bit, to get in position for an Unprettier, which he connected with for the victory. Winner: Christian Cage
After the match, Samoa Joe came down to attack Cage in revenge for last week, but Christian managed to escape before Joe could do any damage. Cage grinned at Joe, and Samoa Joe had a small temper tantrum in fury.
A Kurt Angle video package played, highlighting his debut PPV match against Jeff Jarrett, the cage rematch with him at Turning Point, and his two PPV matches with Rhino, with him winning and retaining the TNA World Title.
TNA World Championship Kurt Angle (c) vs Tomko This was a great main event, with Angle a bit more prepared for Tomko now, knowing his speed a little better. Angle tried unsuccessfully over the course of the first 5 minutes to hit the Olympic Slam, and then almost caught Tomko with an Ankle lock, but he escaped, and connected with a big boot to Angle's face. This only got him two, and he picked Angle up, and got him in position for a power bomb. when he lifted Angle onto his shoulders, Angle leaned forward and rolled over the head and back of Tomko, rolling him up in sunset flip fashion, to surprise Tomko and retain the belt. Winner: Kurt Angle

i liked the opening to impact. glad tomko gets another shot. i'm not to keen on the idea for the dx main event, it sounds like a bit of a cluster but hopefully you can pull it off. daniels winning the ux qualifier makes me happy. and i like the idea of triple x having the opportunity to become double champs. team 3d looking strong going into the tag title match at destination x is good. loved the shelley seg. great build to that match thus far. hope the feud stays this strong. glad styles got the win over rhino, not much more to say. likewise cage going over puma was the right decision. liked that cage and joe didn't come to blows this week, keeps the suspense there and intrigue as to when joe will get his hands on captain charisma. i was wondering how you'd pull this off, because on one hand you don't need to pull the title change on impact especially with the big dx main event coming up. on the other hand you can't bury one of the challengers involved in that match. i have to say you pulled it off nicely. angle winning with a flash roll up was the best way to avoid both of those things and i like it. good show overall, some nice angle advancement going into destination x which is shaping up to be a really strong event.

The opening match sounded godly, man. Love Gibson in this diary, and nice to see Daniels pick up the victory. Liked Triple X coming down for Daniels, and 3D interupting them. The Shelley segment was really cool. Can't wait for his and Aries match at Destination X. Puma/Cage sounded fun, didn't expect Puma to win, and putting Cage over like Daz said was definately the right decision. Main event was awesome, and the main event for Destination X sounds cool, but it's one of those matches that will be either awesome, or shit, tbh.

Impact, Feb 15th 2007 show...Enjoyed the opener, though I wished Senshi had won, then again Sabin is too legendary to have lose. Another decent bout, I always admired the pairing of Kazarian and Bentley/Shane. Woah, Joe and AJ not having a good match? Suprising as hell. Decent filler with mayonnaise Aries beating Devine salad. And a great main event, good finish as well.

Nice opener with Cornette. Daniels getting in the UX is great man. Would have liked to see Bently get in as well but Daniels is better so I am good with that. The XXX stuff was great. AJ/Rhino looked alright and glad AJ picked up the win here. Not a fan of Tomko in the main event again but glad he lost. I can't stand Tomko and I hope he goes no where near the title. Overall a good show though Cam.

This is one of the better TNA diaries I've read and the show's continue to be solid overall.
The opener was good and Daniels was the right choice for number 4 in Ultimate X, Joe/Cage & Shelley/Aries are both progressing well as well, I liked the main event and the build to Destination X has been really good, although I'm not too high on the main event, the undercard really makes it up for me as everything on it so far has me intrigued. Overall really good stuff, Impact was good and the build to DX has been good as well, keep it up.
