Preview for ROH Show #9, the 4th episode on USA....
Last week, you saw Jim Cornette turn on all of the fans and join Embassy member, Alex Shelley, in hopes to lead Shelley to the ROH World Championship. This week, Alex Shelley gets the chance of a lifetime, when he gets thrown in the Three-Way at a chance for the ROH World Championship. The match scheduled... Bryan Danielson defending against Toshiaki Kawada and Alex Shelley. Could this be it? Could this be the end of Bryan Danielson's reign?
Also, Roderick Strong is out to prove that he can win another title. It's been signed... Roderick Strong will take on Nigel McGuinness for the ROH Pure Title. And "Classic" Colt Cabana will be in action.

September 27th: Ring of Honor makes releases and a hiring. ROH has released these wrestlers from their open contracts... Deranged and KENTA. Now you might be thinking... KENTA! What are you thinking? KENTA will be on tour for another year and is booked every day until next year. ROH will negotiate with him in 2007, for sure. ROH has signed former HWA wrestler, Jon Moxley to a written contract in development. We wish all of these wrestlers a great future.

Ring of Honor #9 (TV Episode #4) Jonny Storm and Kevin Steen vs. The Briscoe Brothers Jay Brisco takes a flying neckbreaker from Kevin Steen. There's a two count on the pin. Steen crushes Jay Brisco with a running senton. Tag between Kevin Steen and Jonny Storm. Vicious kick to the teeth from Jonny Storm. Cover, but there's a last second kick-out. Jay Brisco reverses a Jonny Storm hammerlock. Tag between Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe. Mark Brisco uses a basement dropkick to the knee. Jonny Storm is in trouble. Cut-Throat Suplex! 1....2....3. The Briscoes are victorious again in a hard fought match against Storm and Steen. ***1/2 Jimmy Rave vs. Yoshihiro Tajiri Jimmy Rave hits the Rave's Clash. Wow.. haven't seen that one in a while! 1..2... Tajiri kicked out! Rave goes up top for a body splash. Again... stealing someone's finisher. *Cough* Val Venis *Cough* And only gets a two count. Rave locks in the Sharpshooter, but Tajiri gets to the ropes. Rave goes up for a diving knee drop, but Tajiri moves! Tajiri moves in... Buzzsaw Kick, echoes throughout the arena! 1....2.....3! Tajiri defeats 1/2 of the Embassy. *** Colt Cabana vs. Jimmy Yang Match starts off with headlock, hammerlock, and arm drag exchanges. Hard impact russian legsweep by Cabana. Yang reverses a waistlock. Springboard reverse elbow by Jimmy Yang. Excellent move. Cover for a two count. DDT from the top rope by Jimmy Yang. That looked brutal. Hooks the leg for a close fall. Yang hits a flipping senton from ground position. Yang climbs to the top. Second rope flying axe handle, Cabana goes down. Jimmy Yang scores with a back heel kick on Cabana. Colt Cabana fights out of a grapple. Colt Cabana snap suplexes Yang. Front legsweep slam by Colt Cabana, hit with precision. Jimmy Yang can barely stand. The Abra-Cabana! 1....2....3. Ngel McGuinness runs to the ring and attacks Colt Cabana with a chair! This is uncalled for. Cabana is laying in a pool of his own blood, but McGuinness doesn't care. He stomps away at Colt Cabana with more blood from his head. ***1/2 Backstage, the cameras go into the Embassy's locker room. Where you see Alex Shelley lacing up his boots... getting ready for what will be the toughest match of his career. Jim Cornette walks in on Alex Shelley. Daizee Haze and Jimmy Rave are also in the corner of the room discussing things. But surely... Shelley and Cornette's conversation is more important, as it has to do with the ROH World Title. Is Alex Shelley starting to think he's too good for the Embassy or is Jim Cornette going to join the Embassy as the main member now? I wonder what Prince Nana thinks of all of this. Cornette takes Shelley into another room as this has to be private. But unfortunately... the cameras doesn't follow them. I wonder what they are up to. They must have a plan...Roderick Strong vs. Nigel McGuinness (c) for the ROH Pure Title Nigel starts off with some stiff chops, BIG mistake! Roderick has the loudest chops in the game. Strong lights 'em up. But McGuinness goes to the breadbasket of Strong. Nigel sets him up for a piledriver. Roderick backdrops Nigel McGuinness out of a piledriver attempt. Big backdrop on McGuinness, executed well. McGuinness gets hit with a huge clothesline. McGuinness blocks the suplex attempt. Brainbuster suplex by Nigel McGuinness. Roderick Strong hooks up a suplex, but it is blocked. McGuinness scores with a low blow, then turns it into a small package! The referee didn't see the illegal blow! 1...2...3. Nooooooo... McGuinness screws Roderick Strong out of the title. Too bad Cabana isn't here... or he would have went there and took Nigel McGuinness apart. McGuinness looks real cocky as he walks out of the ring with gold still intact. Alex Shelley vs. Toshiaki Kawada vs. Bryan Danielson (c) for the ROH World Title The match starts off with Alex Shelley's cockiness coming into play... as... Shelley just lays propped up on the top rope, as Kawada and Danielson go at it. They start off with a greco roman knuckle lock. But it turns into a power contest. Kawada quickly throws a stiff kick right into the eye of the champ. Danielson's eye is cut very badly after that kick. He rolls out of the ring and starts complaining. Kawada goes over to the turnbuckle and grabs Shelley by his hair and lays in some hard chops into the chest of Jim Cornette's new favorite wrestler. Shelley yells out! He too rolls out of the ring, only to be caught by a big closeline from Bryan Danielson. He goes back into the ring and knees Kawada in the gut. And keeps on with brutal knees to the ribcage. Danielson turns around. Shelley springboards from the ring apron and dropkicks Danielson in the face. First pin of the match... 1...2... Danielson gets a shoulder up. Shelley stomps Danielson in the face. Then locks in a facelock. Kawada comes from behind with an enziguri. Cover on Shelley... 1..... Shelley gets a shoulder up. Kawada picks up Shelley. DRAGON SUPLEX! One....... Twooooo.... T... Shelley kicks out. Danielson comes from behind and locks in a full nelson Kawada. Oh noooo... He has the full nelson on Kawada in almost ground position. There it is! He locks in the Cattle Mutilation. But he doesn't see Alex Shelley on the top rope behind him. Double stomp! Cover on Kawada. 1........2........3!? What... it wasn't a three. The referee thought it was. This match is still on. Shelley was celebrating too soon. And Danielson double leg takedown to Alex Shelley! Cattle Mutilation! But WHAT! Jim Cornette is distracting the referee. Shelley taps out! But the ref is distracted. Cornette slides the tennis racket in, Danielson lets go. No way... Kawada picks up the tennis racket... and blasts Danielson over the head. Ref turns around... cover... 1......2...... Shelley breaks it up, barely. Shelley with the crescent kick on Danielson, knocking him to the outside of the ring. Meanwhile, in the ring, Shelley gets the Border City Stretch on Kawada. He's about to tap out. But thankfully, he gets to the ropes. Shelley signals for the Shellshock. And hits it. 1.........2......... Danielson pulls Shelley out of the ring. Roaring elbow, right into Shelley's face. Danielson rolls back into the ring. Cover on Kawada, damage still done from the Shellshock. 1.........2.......... Kawada kicks out. Danielson rolls Kawada over on his stomach. And locks it in again, Cattle Mutilation. This one is over, Kawada is in the middle of the ring. And Shelley is knocked out cold on the outside of the ring from that roaring elbow. This one is almost over. Kawada tries to do what he did at Unforgettable... he tries to stand up. But it doesn't work. Shelley starts to revive. But is still dazed. He looks in the ring. To his shock, Kawada is about to tap out, but he's too dazed to get into the ring. Kawada tries to roll over, but it doesn't work. Shelley revives and gets into the ring. He springs off the ropes, going for a lionsault, but Danielson lets go of the hold. And Shelley hits Kawada instead. From this position, Danielson locks in the Cattle Mutilation on Alex Shelley. Kawada is still in pain from the Cattle Mutilation. And he rolls out the ring, with shoulders out of socket. Shelley holds on, trying to roll over. But taps out! Your winner... and STILL the ROH World Champion, "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson! *"The Final Countdown" hits* The crowd has just seen an amazing match. Cornette rolls Shelley out of the ring and they get out of there. ***1/2 Overall Show Rating: 79%

Show #9 was a really awesome read. I loved the main event a lot, and it's pretty amazing to see Dragon retain over both Kawada and Shelley. Straight up, the man must be stopped.
