Just found Hasbro Marvel Legends series 2 at a Walmart in Jackson, MI. They had everyone but She-Hulk. I only had enough for Quicksilver. Here is my in-person synopsis:
1. None of the characters have any "washes" or finishes. It makes them look really bland.
2. Quicksilver looks basic but decent. His head looks okay, but his neck is way too long. It doesn't look as bad as Banshee's neck, probably because Pietro's neck is blue. Articulation is your basic ML style. Paint is a tad sloppy on the face, but better than most.
3. Thor looked bad. I was really looking forward to that figure and his paint looks terrible, very sloppy. His eyes looked like they were painted on by a 1st grader. The lack of a wash or finish makes the larger than life proto look more like a borderline bootleg. Unless I find a better looking Thor, I will skip this figure.
4. Jean Grey... not as bad as I thought but still looks nothing like the actress. Hasbro can't seem to do female faces for crap! Her dress seems to be made of a pliable rubber, but without opening the figure I have no idea.
5. Yellowjacket is okay. The lack of a finish takes a lot away from the figure. The symbol on his chest looks terrible. I don't know if I will get this one or not.
6. Juggernaut looks craptacular. He looks small and unimpressive. The proto is a long way from the finished product on this one.
7. Ultimate Wolverine actually looks worse in person than in the protos!
8. If I had had the money I also would have bought Xorn. He looked pretty good. Sculpting wise he is solid. The lack of a finish hurts, but not that bad. If the helmet is still removable (the helmet was on in the package) then that will be a very tiny head underneath as the Xorn helmet is actually in good proportion to his body.
9. I am not liking the Blob BAF. The head I saw was speckled with paint, or as I called it "Cookie-dust." He has no knee articulation and you have to assemble the halves of his torso, which does not fill me with confidence of his durability. I bought Annihilus and was disappointed... and that was only a $60 figure. Blob is an $80 figure... and don't claim he is a free bonus, that's only if I want the figures the parts come with. Half this series I am seriously thinking of passing on. So this BAF is disproportionate (look at his proto, he has tiny legs and long monkey arms), is painted badly, and has bad articulation. I think I will just stick with my X-Men Evolution Blob... it looks to be a better figure.
*** Please note that I was at one point defending Hasbro's ML line. I don't usually bash but I was hoping series 2 would improve the product. Instead it actually is worse. This is my current view on the series... $2 more for crappier figures. Hasbro is going to kill the line at this point.***

Those are very good points, and I've kind of knew it would happen since around the beginning just never wanted that to happen.
I'm still going get most figures for the BAF's and a select few but I'm definitely getting them repainted by a friend of mine that has been making me customs.

Oh and I want to add that after opening Quicksilver his mid-torso joint is REALLY wobbily, like I can move his upper torso left and right. His feet are also wobbily.
And Blob's arm is also speckled in 'Cookie Dust.'
I paid $10 for this?

I just sent a long ass email to Hasbro about my dissatisfaction with their Marvel Legends line. Here it is:
***************************************************
Today I picked up Quicksilver from Marvel Legends series 2, the one I was most looking forward to in the set. The upper torso joint is super wobbily, as are the figure's feet. The Build A Figure part of Blob's arm is speckled with paint. And I stop and ask myself "I paid $10 for this?"
I'm not alone. There is an increasing number of people dissatisfied with the Hasbro interpretation of Marvel Legends. So much so that I can visibly see it hurting sales. In most stores, I can still buy every figure in series 1 and build Annihilus. In the few that don't have all six figures of series 1, it is only off by Iron Man. I see a product that is not moving off store shelves and I can't blame consumers for the lack of interest. Here are my reasons:
1. People do not want to pay $10 for a toy. DC Superheroes from Mattel also sell for $10 a piece and they clog shelves in stores. Just today I counted 11 Superman figures at a Walmart, all priced ten dollars a shot, and all collecting dust. Marvel Legends also collect dust, as do the insanely priced Sigma Six GI Joe figures. I can still put my hands on Joes from the first series of Sigma Six. Money is getting tighter these days and parents have a hard time justifying shelling out $12-15 for a single action figure. Now, it would be one thing if the Marvel Legends featured great accessories and a comic book like Toybiz had, but no. It's $2 extra for no comic, no display, little to no accessories, and a subpar figure...
2. Which leads me to my second issue. These new Hasbro Marvel Legends are terrible! I bought all of series 1, mainly to have a completed Annihilus. I was very disappointed. Not only was Annihilus missing points of articulation it should have had (such as wrists and waist) but it was PINK AND SPARKLEY! The figure is supposed to be green and purple, not green and pink. It looks like gay vomit that just got back from a rave. Now, I wouldn't normally gripe this much over a toy except when the toy costs me $60 (6 figures each with a part at $10 each). Plus the individual figures in the set were nothing to write home about either. They were all missing finishes to highlight their features (some people call it a 'wash.') This causes the figures to look extremely bland. Banshee looked horrid with a terrible head sculpt and a giraffe neck. Tony Stark's head (on Iron Man) looked like an Asian pornstar. Planet Hulk was missing the armored arm (future variants have the left arm painted silver, which looks even worse). The worst was Emma Frost. I don't know who is in charge of sculpting women's faces, but that person needs to actually see what a woman looks like. The face was terrible. I don't understand how Toybiz was able to do a great job of sculpting and Hasbro, a bigger company with more money to spend, does a lousy one.
Now I tried to give Hasbro the benefit of the doubt. Hey, it's only series 1. Maybe they will improve. After all, Hercules from series 1 was a good figure. The articulation seems more solid than Toybiz's work, more durable. And they even got rid of the articulated fingers on figures that hold weapons (like Hercules). Series 2 is bound to be better. Then I saw series 2.
Thor looked bad. I was really looking forward to that figure and his paint looks terrible, very sloppy. His eyes looked like they were painted on by a 1st grader. The lack of a wash or finish makes the larger than life proto look more like a borderline bootleg. Jean Grey... not as bad as I thought but still looks nothing like the actress. Hasbro can't seem to do female faces for crap! Yellowjacket is okay. The lack of a finish takes a lot away from the figure. The symbol on his chest looks terrible. Juggernaut looks craptacular. He looks small and unimpressive. The proto is a long way from the finished product on this one. Ultimate Wolverine actually looks worse in person than in the protos! I am not liking the Blob BAF. The head I saw was speckled with paint. He has no knee articulation and you have to assemble the halves of his torso, which does not fill me with confidence of his durability. Blob is also disproportionate (look at his proto, he has tiny legs and long monkey arms), is painted badly, and has bad articulation.
I used to buy around 90% of Toybiz's Marvel Legends. I can't justify paying $10 for inferior action figures. I will probably buy a couple first time Legends every now and then, but the quality has dipped too far down to invest large amounts of money on figures that I am unhappy with. (I also don't understand the desire to release new Spider-man figures in 5 inch formats, but since they are vastly out of scale with Marvel Legends, I won't be buying them either. They also look to have poor sculpting.) My friend, also a toy collector, has stopped buying Marvel Legends altogether. And honestly, I hear very little positive remarks about Hasbro Marvel Legends.
This is where I stand. Every year I would spend upwards of $250-300 on Toybiz's Marvel Legends. Unless the quality improves or the price drops, I won't be spending that money for Hasbro's product.
Sincerely,
Chris Vorenkamp

You actually wrote a customer complaint using words like "gay vomit" and "craptacular".
I wouldn't expect much.

You actually wrote a customer complaint using words like "gay vomit" and "craptacular". I wouldn't expect much. I'm not. I didn't have any real demands, just opinions. I wanted to use colorful language. Professional "polite" words don't stand out. I want whoever read that to remember it. I just want the people at Hasbro to understand my grievances. After all, I am a 28 year old complaining about toys, I don't expect to be taken seriously.

Exactly, which is why I knew I should start getting customs before their waves came out. I have a total of 17 customs at the moment and have about 17 others paid for. And getting a bunch of classic and modern.

Funny we weren't really on the same page before they came out and we now because those points are completely valid. Like I said, I wanted to give Hasbro the benefit of the doubt. There was never a reason why they couldn't match or surpass the quality of Toybiz. But all I am seeing is protos that start out being hit or miss, and finished products that are just plain miss. BTW, I got a reply from Hasbro. It was basically a form letter expressing their concerns for my concerns. They are sending me a paid delivery box to send back Quicksilver in, not really something I asked for, but maybe I'll get a better one I hope they really did "share my concerns with their management" but somehow I doubt it.

Yeah, so did I. I knew they wouldn't be as good as TB's but I actually was hoping for a while before the first protos came out that they would try and continue it as Toybiz did it but with little fixes here and there but they're just killing the line which sucks because they had a line that was selling great even with some bad/poor figures we know which ones.

Yeah the figures themselves really do suck, I enjoy my X3 figures though and take them for what they are, and some other select figs..The BAF Blob is really selling me on series 2, but I don't want all those figures cuz I could care less about most of them. I want to build Blob but my friend said he would only give me 3 bucks a piece for the figures I don't want and that really doesn't justify me paying 7 dollars for a single piece of Blob
