I just watched an old Raw where Christian and Booker T where feuding TNA.
And did you hear Booker T's music?
I mean seriously.
TNA need to understand that Theme tunes these days are a huge part of a character.
Look at WWE for example. 90% Of their themes are made specifically for the wrestler (Cena, Masters, Carlito, Triple H, Kane, Khali, etc.) But when TNA take an already-established wrestler they have to ruin it.
I mean, I know I'm not the biggest fan of TNA ever, but i will credit them when they do something good (Kurt Angle's TNA debut for example).
Booker T's TNA theme tune sounds like a SNES version of his WWE music.
Kurt Angle, a man who is an olympic gold medalist and prides himself on being competitive and trying to be the best, comes out to a heavy instrumental rock song.
Christian's music is as close as you can get to "Just Close Your Eyes" as you'll probably find anywhere.
They really need to look at that. They have a lot of money and I'm sure their production team isn't too bad when they work at it.
But they really need to understand that "Appearance is half the battle".

I've actually been saying this for a while myself. The thing about wrestling on television is you need to draw in people who don't watch wrestling. Back in it's prime, non-wrestling fans would wear NWO shirts because they were genuinely cool shirts. Also, the theme music (ala Steve Austin's Disturbed music) was something you could enjoy listening to. Even now, for the most part, you could listen to Triple H's theme without being a wrestling fan because it's such a kick-ass song. I can't imagine anyone doing that for any TNA themes. More importantly, music is, to me, a very crucial character defining element. If you're flipping through the channels and you land on RAW, and Shawn Michaels so happens to be coming out, you know immediately that he's arrogant and brash and considers himself sexy and all that. Granted his character nowadays isn't so much the same, but it still tells you right off the bat who he is. Could you really tell what any TNA guy's character is by their music? I doubt it.

Christian's theme sounds NOTHING like "Just Close Your Eyes". Lmao it's based off an Evanescence song. Or at least an instrumental of one. A lot of TNA themes were instrumentals of actual songs at a point. I'm not sure if they still use them now.

couldn't have said it better...this is one of the bumps in the road for tna as they build an identity....even early classic ecw for all they're limited production had key songs for wrestlers that instantly set the crowd on fire...i mean you could sit and be entertained just when metaliica would hit and you got that awesome sandman entrance. do we even need to describe how elemental and vital the undertaker's entrance is? austin's explosive entrance and catchy music, hhh's various songs and his iconic water-spit on the apron...all of these things helped put these talents over that much more and stuck them even more into our minds. even before they step through the ropes you already have goosebumps and feel that these guys are going to war. it's that kind of awe that tna really needs to add to what they have...tna has what matters most in the wrestling, but why not put the icing on the cake and make these guys truly iconic.

The fact that we can't hear them half the time because of Don West screaming while describing the guy walking down to the Ring and how he's Walking doesn't help...

Yeah not a big fan of Bookers new Theme, sounds like they used the Old one and Put their own Crappy touch over it, Also don't like the fact that most theme songs have no Singing in it, and Its just Instrumentals.
But in the end its just Theme music, this is a Wrestling show not a Concert.

What's so bad about Booker's music? I think it fits him pretty nicely.

Yes, as TNA gets more of an identity themes songs need to be better integrated, however, Booker T's music is fine because it is so ecognizable. As is Joe's and Kurt Angles' Kurt angle has the best intro/entrance/music compilation in the wrestling industry today.

TNA's theme music is horrendus, it seems they have no idea what they are doing... i don't even think its a money issue, just because they can't afford motorhead like WWE can for HHH, don't mean there music has to be shite, the worst is black reigns music...
If undertaker ever went to TNA, they'd probably give him the theme to swan lake

If /when TNA gets to bigger venues and gets more name recognition perhaps music intros will be more significant to their production.

If /when TNA gets to bigger venues and gets more name recognition perhaps music intros will be more significant to their production. Thats not an excuse! TNA Have TWO Music CD's out! That means they acknowledge their theme music and are obviously proud of it, for a reason I really don't know. As for you saying that Kurt Angle currently has the best Intro/Entrance/Music in wrestling.. that is a majorly biased thing to say. Kurt Angle currently stands nowhere near getting that accomplishment! You're telling me that intro wise: Angle > Undertaker Angle > Triple H Angle > Kane Angle > MVP Angle > Boogey Man Angle > Batista Angle > Chris Jericho Angle > Mr. Kennedy You know whats so good about all of those entrances? They are tailor made for the superstar. There is no one in TNA with as personalised an entrance as any of WWE's main eventers. Kurt Angle coming out to random Pyro and a heavy rock instrumental is crap. Kurt Angle coming out to an upbeat Olympic theme and Red, White and Blue pyro makes sense. WWE understand that making a wrestler look good makes up for them not being amazing in the ring. TNA have some great in-ring workers.. but without the other extras (that are compulsory in the wrestling world) they are wasting their time. They have a great big stage. they have the lights. they have a decent opening sequence.. but wrestlers personality's are too bland.

I would also think that with them having a hand from Universal, that maybe they could just get some better recording equipment because most of the music just sounds like it was recorded in the bathroom. FYI for anyone wanting to buy the Meltdown cd. some of it is already out there to dl and damn it sounds awful.

I only have Third Degree Burns, and the only song on it that in any way could suit the wrestler is Abyss' theme. Hes a big monsterous guy, so a heavy hard hitting, raw rock song suits him. Although i don't understand the kinda violin beginning

Yeah, I understand their theme music won't ever be as good as WWE's, but hey I'm willing to accept it for what it is and they don't really bug me at all. It's kinda like a fresh start and if you don't like the music, tough. Deal with it and move on.
