I just played a kid online that did the following...all game:
1 - WR glitch/WR glitch/WR glitch/WR glitch
2 - Throw the ball deep, deep, deep, deep, deep. (4 wide, sends RB too)
Blitz, blitz, blitz, blitz, blitz (which I don't mind, seeing as I picked him apart)
So it's 21-17 with 15 seconds left, I just scored a TD to go ahead. Even with all that bullshit.
He throws a deep ball, the game freezes completely for a good 8-10 seconds, I come back, he's standing in the end zone with the football.
Seriously. Are kids really that stupid? Does that win make his day? I just wanted to get on and play a cool game quick. I just wasted my time playing some douche who was desperate for a win on madden online so much that he ruins the experience for someone who plays TRUE football on Madden? Come on...
It really makes me not even want to go online to play at all against people I don't know. It ruins the game for me. Stuff like this makes me not want to play for days.

This is where I vent.
I just played a rank (I think) of 22. Game is tied 7-7 in the 3rd quarter. I go back to pass. My game freezes, I think it's just a regular freeze. Comes back...
2nd down and 23. I think maybe it's just a bullcraplag? I go back to pass a small little slant to hope to make up 6/7 yards... Game freezes. Comes back...
3rd and 45.
I now run, because I know I want to punt and the kid didn't move the ball on me at ALL. I punt, he gets the ball...
1st down - -2 yard run
2nd down - 1 yard run
3rd down - game freezes. Comes back...
65 yard pass. 1st down.
Seriously, do people have nothing better to do than cheat to win? What does that gain for them? They're ranked 800 in the world of online Madden in something that will never matter. I'm just out to have a quick game before bed and have fun, and it ruins the entire game for me.
I say this every few days, and then go back for more....but I'm not playing anyone I don't know anymore. Every kid I play now runs 2 plays on offense, uses hurry up, 1 defensive play...or pulls the bullcrapI just dealt with.
Madden this year, online, is seriously a TERRIBLE gaming experience. If you read this and think "hmm, maybe I want to play online"...save yourself the trouble unless you're playing a friend.

I don't own this year's Madden but I know from last year that online hasn't changed a bit. I would say I wouldn't play online but then I would try a game because every once in awhile you face a guy that plays right. But I couldnt tell you how lopsided that ratio is.
The best thing to do is to play against a friend. Otherwise you'll be in the first quarter and its 4th and 25 and some kid just so happens to bomb it to a RB for a TD. Its pretty frustrating when you just want to play a realistic game of football. And then when you manage to stay ahead of them they'll quit. Or even if they are winning and you score a touchdown that doesn't even tie the game they'll quit right after wards. I hate playing children or people that act like children....just play the damn game.
Thats why when you find someone that plays right, add them right away. Because people like that are are hard to come by.

I now have 3 disconnect losses, with a lead, because of a disc read error.

And when i am leading in the fourth, after my touchdown, it freezes and goes to a shot of the crowd and nothing else. I mean, the cameras moving, but i can't select anything. It's ridiculous. From my understanding (Never seen it myself) you could just directly snap the ball to your WR giving you like an easy 10 yard gain.

Really fun game. Just 1 question. Is there a season mode in this? If there is what is it called?

Madden has been pissing me off this weekend: On Thursday : (35-15: Rank LVL 9) Now(Sunday) (37-22 : Rank LVL 9) I went FN 2-7 this weekend I'm riding a 6 game win streak. Should be even better, but you gotta love the mass produced game this year. D/C = was winning with under 2 minutes, got the loss. (disc read error) D/C = was winning, won the game according to the end of the game score, but got the loss due to my game just freezing. (couldn't hit any button) While playing a level 21 - game kept freezing, when it came back, he was 60 yards down field. Otherwise I'm doing well. I think I'm a level 10, and like...32-7 or something like that. If you asked me..I should be 39-0 because I scream "bullshit" more than anything else during a game. I just hate when a LB can run stride for stride with a WR down field and pick it off. But in all honesty, adding the 2 D/C, and 2 games where the kid did nothing but the WR glitch...I think I should be at the very least 34-5 (who knows if the WR glitch kids could actually play or not; and I can't give myself a win for the level 21...but that's ridiculous) |

I need some help.
Okay, so my regular team is the Dolphins and whenever I play against my friend he uses the Steelers, and he's too damn good at the game. Like he knows how to play defense extremely good and he reads what I'm doing. And on offense he just picks me apart.
But anyways, I tried using the Saints and Vikings, without ever practicing with them. The score was 42-13.
So I decided I need a good team, aka the Cowboys. I've started using them, and I'm trying to go by their playbook. But I need some help, what are some good runs, passes, play actions, etc to pick? Going from picking plays by formation?
Also, any hints on their default audibles? I mean they aren't that great but I want to keep them the same. Basically, are there any ways to execute them better?
Any help would be appreiciated.

The only team I play as online is Dallas. Ill assume that Dallas' playbook in 09' is similar to 08'. Typically I keep it simple.
Running plays:
- HB Stretch. Even if there is a LB you can power your way through him and usually get a good chunk of yards
- HB Dive or HB Smash is good if the Defense is expecting pass.
-HB Toss and HB Blast is great.
Passing Plays
- TE Post- You'll have Owens going deep so change Witten to a slant to the right. It works almost all the time especially if they are playing Man Defense. And anytime they expect the run have Jason go straight up the middle. Easy 20 yards.
- Play Action Boot Works just fine if you get the pass to whoever is player "Y" which is probably Glenn? Honestly I dont do much play action.
-X Post is good. You have your receivers in the middle while Barber runs to the right. Thats when I like to give it to him since usually you'll only have one guy in your way and you can go through him.
Some good tips:
- Slant routes are your friend when you have Witten on your side.
- You have Witten, Glenn, and Owens and even Barber if you get him out there. Chances are you can get the ball to one of them. Owens is always covered out the ass. The WRs aren't terrible in the game so you'll be fine without him if you can't get to him. I honestly get more production from the other three than Owens most the time.
- You can't go wrong with Barber. Always go head on with him, you'll usually break a bunch of players in the process. That and cause an injury or two. Also use plays where he gets himself open at the side for a quick toss. You'll have like one guy to get by most the time.
- Every now and then have both Barber and Jones in the backfield. This confuses the hell out of the other guy. You could give it to the FB (jones), hand it off to Barber, or pass it. They never know. I have a blast doing that especially repeatedly with each play being different.
- Romo is a runner. Use him. I'm not saying go Vick on people but don't be afraid to move him out of the pocket. You can pick up a good ten yards two or three times a game I'd say. If a Line Backer is coming you can usually run away.
- Their Audibles are crappy. I'm too lazy to change them though.
- Just run practices several times till you have a feel for what plays you like and when to use them. Its made play calling very fast for me since I know what usually works when.
Hope it helped some. I'm tired of writing now and you all know my secrets lol.
