I was just reading through the topic about why people love Hexus, and JS replied with this:
It got me thinking - if you're insisting that this isn't '2nd grade', why do you come down so hard on many things like moderate sexual references?! A week or so back, someone even got reported for having a Whisky bottle in their sig because it could be 'promoting the use of alcohol to the underaged'.
I'm not going to go on, but it seems since the warning bar feature was introduced a while back, this place has gone censor happy. You might think that it would increase the maturity of the posters, but now that they know how far they can push the admins and get away with it, this place has taken a major decline in maturity, as it certainly wasn't this bad in 02/03. What I'm saying is, the warning bar does nothing. Either ban someone, or leave them be, as warnings are far from effective. Especially when the warning bar gets to 99% - what is the point in that? It's almost as if the admins are afraid to ban you.
I dunno. Some people will agree, some people will disagree, some might not even know what I'm going on about. It's just a thought.

I agree it's taken a HUGE decline in maturity and intelligence. But the censoring, I really don't care. As long as you're not calling someone a n*gger or telling them to suck your dick, it shouldn't bother you.  |

I got a 50% warning bar in March and I still havent got it taken off. and I got it for a pathetic reason anyway. Hexus fights back and insults other people yet he doesnt get in trouble for it, oh no. i've been here a few months, and i don't know much about a "warning bar". Anyone care to explain what that is for me?
Also, how is "hurrihitler" an immature username?
And i agree, from what i've seen during my time here, the level of maturity has gone down, but i believe it has to do with a lot of the younger members. I'm only 15, i'll be 16 in August, but I try to act maturely on the internet.
This is a problem at a lot of forums, members join by lieing about their age. The minimum age to join a forum like this is 13, i know a lot of people from various forums that are 12, 11, i've even seen members banned at other forums for admitting they were 10.

What i dont get is that we cant post certain stuff, even though you'r esupposed t obe 13 to be here in the first place.
I got a 50% warning befor efor posting a pictur eof a girl in a white shirt, and if you strained your eyes staring at the screen, you could make out the outline of her nipples. Yet any 7 year old can bu a newspaper with a topless girl in it.
Things like that make no sense.
And although i've only been here about a year and a half overall, even i noticed the amount of spam and imatureness thats plagued the site.
Which is notable by an argument between two members in a thread about being mature, then the original poster, who is the one complaining about the level of maturity, makes a post bashing another member.
