i insist that everyone buys dark horse's hardcover 'NOIR'. it's a mix of different dark humored stories that are absolutely amazing. some of the stories are just too well done.

just finished Days Missing, a great series about a watcher like character who intervenes with humans only to help guide us to higher levels of existence....pretty damn good book with excellent artwork and intriguing oneshot story structure. hopefully there is more to come.

I haven't been keeping up with my comics at all so I decided that I should start going through them:
AMS 644 - Yawn.
AMS 645 - I feel like when Spider-Man goes on a rampage it should be much cooler than this.
iZombie 6 - Still loving this comic, I liked the back story they gave on Scott and the ending was pretty good. The only thing weird is they changed the paper from glossy like most comics to just regular ass paper which is kinda lame.
Avengers Academy 4 - The stuff with Osborn talking to a few of the kids was the only good part of this issue, I really should drop it.
Avengers Academy 5 - Striker is one of the only good characters in this book so it wasn't too bad that the issue was just about him. The best thing about it though was that it had a reference to the show 30 Rock in it.
Captain America 610 - Very good issue, can't wait for the trail to start.
Invincible Iron Man 31 - Great issue, and the ending was crazy. Also the preview for the next comic looks very promising too.
and Avenger Prime 3 - Good issue, and the ending Thor saying that they may all have died was cool.

Finishing out my comic pile:
Secret Six 26 - Good issue and the story seems to be getting better.
Emerald Warriors 2 & 3- Starting to like this comic more, I've never been a fan of Guy but the stuff with him in this book is pretty interesting.
Green Lantern Corps 52 - I feel like I'm starting to not like this comic, it has nothing to do with Brightest Day and the stories just aren't too interesting. Also I love how on the cover it says Ganthet fights Cyborg Superman but that never happens.
Green Lantern 58 - Unlike Corps this story is actually pretty good and with the promise of Black Hand returning in the next issue sounds pretty good.
Brightest Day 11 - Focused on two stories that I didn't care about, Deathstorm is a dumb character but I guess the Black Lanterns coming back was kinda cool.
Powers 2 - The case in this comic is getting more interesting and I like that they gave more background on Christian.
Powers 3 - Crazy issue and I'm excited to read the next one. Also I love how they drew so much that they actually had to put the final page on the back cover.

I would like to say how much I loved Uncanny X-Force 1. It's got much more promise than Yost and Kyle's run.
I absolutely LOVE that they're finally getting back to the internal struggle between Warren and Archangel. I grew tired of waiting for it to resurface while Warren plays rich boy with random tasks in Uncanny X-Men. It makes perfect sense to include Psylocke now too, as she's keeping her boyfriend in check. She also, if I recall, killed in her 4-issue mini-series a few months ago. So she fits right in.
Fantomex not-so-subtly hitting on Psylocke provides an intriguing dynamic to the team, as Fantomex (whom I absolutely adore) and Angel have to hit a conflict at some point. And considering I don't read any Deadpool titles (although I consider picking up the flagship Deadpool book again), he isn't overexposed to me. And he's written with a good sense of comedy while still maintaining being a bad ass, which he totally is.
It's great that it's not just "Wolverine and a bunch of killers." I'm getting my fix of Wolverine while he's spending time in hell anywho. He hasn't done much in Uncanny recently and I don't like how Bendis writes him in Avengers, but it's nice to see him as a co-captain so Angel doesn't lose much focus.
Besides, who doesn't love Apocalypse? I know they're going to expand the team later. I'm hoping Gambit joins in soon, considering his past with Apocalypse and how it has resurfaced. Of course, it's only a 4-issue arc but I have a feeling he'll be in this book for the long haul. I have a feeling Havok and Polaris will return sooner or later here too.

punisher: in the blood 1 jesus christ, about time frankencastle was put in the ground. too much how they just have frank back and the only thing is he's a bit groggy...lol. nevertheless, story kicked off excellently, return of jigsaw is ing fantastic but you'd think shield would've known better than to try to refacilitate him after all he's been through with frank (he even thought he was the punisher for a while!) liked how they referenced war journal, nice touch.

had a bit of comic book fever tonight. read boys 48. after some stagnancy recently in it just because of small necessary plot developments (hughie realizing his gf was a supe, homelander's plan) it is really pushing forward now. this and bprd are the two absolute best comics for just accurately portraying human behaviour (which is funny, considering how unrealistic the settings are) every time and properly developing characters. i loved how billy butcher was portrayed in this issue: frenchie and the girl overhearing him condescending them to mother's milk, how that raynor chick ed him over for him dominating and demeaning her, and how he's generally keeping the whole hughie situation to himself... ennis keeps me entertained. sye, if you're still reading it, what've you been thinking?

Walking Dead 78 - Good issue, can't wait to see what is going to happen next. Invincible 75 - oh my god.... Scarlet 3 - Another great issue but I hate waiting a month for the next one to come out. iZombie 7 - Another really good issue and the ending was really great. Superboy 1 - I thought it was a pretty good first issue, I've never been a fan of Superboy because he's looked stupid before and I'm not a huge fan of Superman but I may keep reading this series. I can't say I loved the art in this issue but I can say that I loooove the cover.

Need to start getting through the 16 issues of comics and 4 trades I have stacked up:
Return of Bruce 6 - Crazy and amazing.
Guardians of the Globe 2 - Better than the first, still interested in seeing where this comic is going to go.
Avengers 6 - Gotta stop getting this comic.
Secret Six 27 - It was ok, may drop it soon though.
Punisher Max Tiny Ugly World - Bad, I shouldn't have paid 5 bucks for this. Also I'm really tired of these one shots BRING BACK THE REGULAR SERIES ALREADY!
Brightest Day 12 - Eh, too much Manhunter for my tastes.
Brightest Day 13 - I don't love Hawkman and Hawkgirl but it was a better issue than 12, and that ending was really awesome.

AMS 646 - Glad this story arc is over. AMS 647 - ugh....UGH so bad. AMS 648 - I don't think I can read this series anymore. THE BOMB DIDN'T BLOW UP BECAUSE OF DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME? REALLY? YOU SLOTT. Also I really don't like how Parker is now a scientist. Green Lantern Corps 53 - The Weaponer has me intrested in this series again Haunt 10 - Great issue, Hurg seems like he is going to be a cool villian and I can't wait for the next issue. Joe the Barbarian 7 - HOLY , CANNOT WAIT FOR THE LAST ISSUE.

Secret Avengers 5 - Good issue, the whole thing with Max Fury seems cool. Secret Avengers 6 - Another good issue and the story is getting more interesting. Shadowland 4 - I guess the ending was ok? Bruce Wayne the Road Home: Batman and Robin - Not bad but I could have done without all of the Vicki Vale stuff. Bruce Wayne the Road Home: Red Robin - Again with the Vicki Vale. Also I wish this was more just Bruce interacting with these characters than it actually having a main plot. Bruce Wayne the Road Home: Catwoman - I was going to read the rest of this series but it. This was the one issue of this series I was looking forward to and there was only one good scene between Bruce and Kyle and then the comic ended, such a missed opportunity. Batman 100 Page Spectacular - Didn't know that this was just a bunch of issues rolled into one book but it was still pretty good, the story of Batman trying to get revenge on Penguin for killing his friend was a pretty good story. Nemesis 3 - Nothing too great. The Boys 45 - I didn't know I was so far behind on this series, this was a pretty good issue, I can't wait to see where the stuff with Hughie and Starlight goes. The Boys 46 - I liked all of the stuff with Hughie and Butcher, and finding out that Maeve has been helping bug The Seven was cool. The Boys 47 - Great conclusion to the story, loved the stuff with Hughie and Starlight and the few scenes with Homelander were great. The Boys 48 - Can't wait for the next issue to see where this story is going to go.
