Sandman is one of my most wanted CS figures and I gotta say I'm pretty let down.
He should have a new, mullet scan. The same pants mold as Foley/Mankind and a cloth shirt, plus the fat or flabby torso
Flair however looks EXACTLY like I wanted him to

Dynamite Kid - Something just looks really wrong with him. I might pick it up depends how the final product looks.
Ric Flair - Sweet that they made him in green. However they gave him that god damn stupid "wooooo" scan!!!!!!! Not buying unless they end up changing it.
John Cena LJN - LMAO worst one yet. Not buying this.
Rey Mysterio - Good stuff except he should have had a new scan from when he was younger. His mask is also the wrong style which kind of sucks. I'll be buying this.
The Rock - Are you kidding me a re-release in the classic line? No thanks I already got the one from CS 19.
Ron Simmons - Eh I could care less. I would have perferred him in his DOOM attire or Farooq Asaad attire.
Sandman - Good stuff except the red shirt kind of throws it off. I'll be buying it reguardless.
Tony Atlas - Was never a fan of Tony so I'll pass.

I didn't watch WCW, it just looks wierd to me. Plus, don't bash me for liking the Cena, I collect LJN's, I think it looks pretty good.
Flair has the same attire as AD Cody Rhodes lol.

Quite a weak set in terms of lineup and effort IMO. far too many repaints.
Dynamite Kid - NOT GETTING - not a fan/before my time
Ric Flair - NOT GETTING - happy with my BoWCW Flair, but they should have given him a new headscan and the flabby torso
John Cena LJN - NOT GETTING - LJNs are crap and wasting CS spots
Rey Mysterio Jr - NOT GETTING - happy with my RA Rey, again they should have given him a new scan
Rock - NOT GETTING - WTF?! this is the exact same as CS19!! i'm happy with my CS19 anyway but this is totally pointless and lazy, could have at least given him a new scan
Ron Simmons - NOT GETTING - ok figure but i'm happy with my RA Faarooq
Sandman - NOT GETTING - happy with my ECW1, yet again, they could have given him a new scan
Tony Atlas - NOT GETTING - not a fan/before my time
wow... this will be the first CS set which I am NOT BUYING ANY...
I'm mainly interested in NEW figures (not repaints) of people from the Monday Night Wars era (1995-2001) so this is the worst CS set ever for me.

That must be the worst CS LJN they have made so far.
So far i have bought all of the CS LJN but after seeing that
mess of a Cena, i might have to pass.
Will get Flair, Rey and Rock if its not a straight re-release.
If simmons comes with a new belt, might have to get him.

Oh Dear oh dear oh dear. Those are the weirdest bunch of scans I've ever seen (apart from all the reused ones) I've looked forward to Dynamite Kid for so long and now it's here at last it looks absolutely bugger all like him - BIG LETDOWN Ric Flair looks boring, that scan's been used way too many times, it's not too good anyway and the figure looks boring and has the wrong torso (even for 80s version) - POINTLESS FIGURE LJN Cena - LOL what a joke! Rey Mysterio - REPAINT OF A CHEAP RA THAT WE'VE ALREADY GOT. Rock - looks good but wasn't it in the last set too? It will probably have wrist tape by the time it's released - POINTLESS FIGURE. Ron Simmons - very, very black, weird scan. LETDOWN Sandman - We all know he should have the fatter shirt mold, I can't believe Jakks bothered with this repaint as they obviously don't know what he looked like then - BAD PART CHOICE. Tony Atlas - Could be worse but headsculpt is bad (all the new head sculpts have the same weird style, Jakks need to sack whoever did these) At least he has the right colour trunks to match Rocky Johnson - COULD BE WORSE BUT DODGY SCAN. I'm not impressed, if it wasn't for the repaints it may have been better but it's only half a new series and all the new figures have the same exaggerated dodgy head sculpts. The Rey isnt a just a repaint, the BOECW one had the CW torso and the old crappy scan. The new one looks good. |

I'll never understand why people who don't like classic wrestling bother to complain about the classics line. This set isn't perfect, but it doesn't suck either. I'll definitely pick up four of these, and maybe 6 depending on whether they change the Rock (it's exactly like CS 19!?!) and if I decide to get Atlas.
Dynamite -- I'll probably get. Not bad. Is there a Davey Boy with matching pants?
Flair -- I'll buy any oldschool Flair, but if a CS Flair gets released without a robe, then Jakks will have really quit on us. I was hoping for a different color scheme, as I just made a custom like this. And why couldn't we have gotten the CSDA, non-wooing head? We've never had that one on a RA Flair.
[ignores Cena "LJN." LJNs sucked when they were new. Retro LJNs suck more]
WCW Rey -- definitely getting
The Rock -- like Flair, I'll buy almost any Rock. But if this is really a CS19 rerelease, I don't really know what to say.
Simmons -- definitely getting. Someone said he's too black . . . WTF? It's not like Simmons is Layla or even MVP light-skinned. Anyway, I might pick up two for some Doom customs.
Sandman -- looks cool, but I'll pass, since I wasn't a big ECW fan. Very happy for those who want him, though.
Atlas -- decent figure. I'm on the fence. I don't know where he'd go in my collection.
This is a pretty good set for an old school fan of NWA and WCW. ;D

Sooo, we're getting a CS19 Rock without wristbands? don't worry i'm sure jakks will add the wristbands in the actual release to make it perfectly inaccurate, as usual  barring LJNs i think Rock is the worst in the set. personally I think CS19 rock is fine, and we don't need anymore, period. I'd much prefer NEW figures in CS than 1000000 Rock repaints. But I realize that Rock will sell very well, so Jakks will want to make loads regardless of what I say. But they could at LEAST make each figure significantly different in terms of attires and headscans... |

I'm still pissed about Sandman. I might as well find a RA 30 Sandman on clearance and make a custom out of it. If you really cared about classic wrestling, you would care that Jakks reused current scans on these so called "classic" figures. |
