Think about it, Ledger died! And everybody went crazy, and he was saying that AS a movie character. I just found it ironic in a lot of ways.
I wonder what Ledgers family thought of the bodybag scene...

Well, well you enjoy it. You know, maybe you should be less selfish. There are people out there that can't afford to see it even once. Hell some underpriveleged humans will never know the existence of greatness that is Heath Ledgers Joker. So while you sit there on your second or tenth viewing, think of those you're stealing from. It's pathetic. This generation is so greedy. One is never enough. I tell ya. But em. I'm seeing it for the thrid tomorrow Shut the hell up. It's a ing movie.

I wonder what Ledgers family thought of the bodybag scene... Eh, but really it doesn't relate much. In the movie, it was basically saying that you could go out and say you could kill a gangbanger and some soldiers and do it, and nobody would freak, but if you went and say you'd kill the mayor, people would. Remember, everyone in Gotham always did things in a "civilized" and "organized" way, and Joker wanted to shake things up basically. I don't know, but honestly while watching the movie, I didn't think of Ledger's death much. I just watched it as if he were alive.

there was crying kid who wouldn't stop crying in my theater. I guess the parent wanted to stay and watch also because she didn't take him out to shut him up which really interrupted the experience. Also some homosexual brought in a laser pointer and pointed the laser at the screen every chance he got.
Even though there were these inconviences, they were not enough to make the movie suck. This was a very well done movie. I still wish the showdown with harvey and batman would have ended a better way.

Finally got to see it tonight. My theater is showing in five times a day in two theaters, and every showing thus far has sold out.
I would have been at the midnight showing Thursday, but I had orientation early Friday morning. I will tell you, though, it was all the kids on campus were talking about - people were pissed they couldn't go.
The movie was everything I could have asked for and more. I was with a rather large group and everyone thought it was incredible, minus a couple people. My conclusion after talking to them was that they simply didn't understand it.
The meanings behind the dialogs was incredible. The social and political commentary fit so well into the story that you had to search for it, but you knew it was there.
The dark tones and overall sense of doomed hopelessness throughout the entire film make it absolutely riveting. The characters were so well played. My only complaint was the replacement of Katie Holmes (though we all knew beforehand) - while I love Maggie, I have a hard time getting over character switches. I put all that aside though, on behalf of such an awesome piece of work.
I, too, like most of you, drew no connection to Heath Ledger as the Joker. In fact, I didn't even view him as Heath Ledger. I viewed him as the character, for the entire film, he truly was that amazing. I don't want to go overboard and sound like I'm simply buying into the hype, but I honestly feel he deserves an Oscar nomination for his work - and that has nothing to do with his untimely death. I'd support it just as much if he was walking around right now. The fact is, alive or dead, he gave one of the most incredible performances I have ever seen and he deserves to be recognized for it.

My guess for Edward Nygma is the guy at the press conference. They pan the camera over people's reactions to Harvey Dent's speach and they pause on him for 5 seconds. Its hard to explain but thats my guess.

Finally saw it last night...and it was perfect. I don't think I disliked any part of the film aside from that one annoying SWAT team guy in the truck when they were transporting Dent. My theater experience was pretty good...everyone was relatively quiet. A little too much clapping though. People know the actors can't hear them, right?
Also I think Dent may still be alive and they're covering it up like they did Gordon.

Best movie I've seen in a long time, but my only complaint was that Two Face should've been saved for the last 10 minutes or so and not killed. But in DC land, is he really dead?

One really amusing thing happened at my theater. This kid and his sister I guess wanted to see it with his parents. After they realized every showing was sold out, they started to yell at their mother and cry because "I wanna see Batman!". The mother suggested to see Hancock and the kid started yelling at the mother again saying "No one is going to see Hancock, we're going to see ing Batman!". I have no idea what happened after that, but it was just too funny for words.
