I don't se how the Grayson's dying is any worse a story than Jim Gordon's son randomly becoming Batman. The reason he took on Robin is because he saw a gimpse of his own tragedy in what happened, and he wanted to help him. Batgirl is kind of a lame character, but she ends up being pretty awesome after she gets crippled. Yeah, she is much better as Oracle.

Apply your own bloody sunscreen! There had to be more. I'm looking for an exact quote. There was definitely more. Bruce asks him if he'll be alright without him on the boat, Alfred looks back at the girls, says something, then tells him that he can apply his own sunscreen. I'll try to find exactly what he said.

The actor thats Christopher Reese isnt the Riddler, he isnt just going to magically chance his name to Edward Nygma.

maybe they will have a story that someone CHANGES their name to E. Nigma as a big riddle sign. Maybe they can make Mysteries do that. Uhhh I mean, Mr. Reese. But the guy who is Mr. Reese is some random guy, and if we get the Riddler, Id want a big name of an established credible actor.

I was watching willy wonka and the chocolate factory yesterday and thought that Gene Wilder would have played a great Riddler back then. But now hes to old and wouldn't be able to play him.

Kevin Spacey? He might have worked in the old school batman, but not sure what Nolan wants to do. It might work though

I thought that line was actually said too quietly. Still, funny. Something that made me laugh major was when Two-face said "SHUTUP!" It sounded kinda like a SHADUP! so I just burst out laughing.

They didn't give Joker a back story, so they don't need to give Riddler one. They could, but it's not like they're following the comics and such to the letter. Reese could be Riddler, or he could've been a supporting character in the 2nd movie we never hear from again. But Riddler will be some re-working, a guy in a green body suit doesn't seem threatening in Nolan's Gotham.
I was thinking about Joker. With the money this movie is bringing in, there's going to be a 3rd, whether Nolan or anyone else wants it or not. There's too much money to be made to not do it, even if Nolan doesn't think it has to be made. So, with or without him, it's happening eventually. Now, I think the ending of Dark Knight set up Joker possibly being in the 3rd one, and had Ledger not died, I think that would've been the plan. The question now is, do you use Joker, or leave him rest out of respect for Heath?
I think Joker can be done again. Joker was re-done for this movie. Nolan/Ledger created a new version, and now this new version exists and is established. The voice, posture, twitching, lip licking, scars, etc, has been created, so they could just get someone to come in and play it the same way Heath did. Unlikely as well, but at least now there's a blue print for someone to follow. So Joker CAN be done again, it's just a matter of whether it's right or wrong to do so. Don't get me wrong, you can't top Heath, but if they want Joker back, they can do it, it just might be in poor taste, and Nolan might not want anyone else to play his Joker. Although if Nolan doesn't do the 3rd, who knows?

They didn't give Joker a back story, so they don't need to give Riddler one. You can't really compare the two. The Joker is one of those rare characters who work best without a backstory. Also, I don't want anyone to take over the role of the Joker. I have no desire to see some guy copy Ledger's performance. Those never work out well.

Joker's my favorite Batman character so I want to see him again, but the guy who played him best is gone, so I don't think I'd want to see anyone else play it. I'm just saying it's possible it'll happen. In poor taste maybe, and very likely not as good as Heath's, but now that the new character is established they could get someone to come in and play it the same way. But I hope they don't. I'm probably content to leave the franchise as it is, they can't top Joker,.

And it's not because Ledger died, it's because recasting a major character that did well SUCKS, no matter if the previous actor is dead or alive. HEATH LEDGER played this Joker, and ONLY Heath Ledger could play it again and have it be right. By right I mean his distinct mannerisms, his distinct voice, and his distinct style that he played him with. Same goes for Eckhart as Dent, same goes as Bale as Bruce Wayne. Recasts suck whether we are talking about Heath/Joker or not. It just wouldn't be the same. That's how I feel on the matter, anyway.

I watched it for the second time, I refused a hand job because I didn't want to be distracted from this movie's brilliance.

But with how good this movie is, they could put anyone in the Joker make-up and make a horrible 3rd movie and still suck people in who loved this one. I really hope they don't go that way, but it's Hollywood, and there's money to be made on a 3rd one. Although re-casting Joker might cause a backlash, so they may avoid that all together. It's just really sad, from a fan standpoint, I want to see more Joker.
