I don't get why people are upset about Lesnar's postfight behavior. It wasn't that bad, and it's definitely not as bad as some of the crap established MMA fighters get a free pass on. I think people are just overly critical of Lesnar and are sitting on the edge of their chairs waiting for the moment he dares bring a pro wrestling element (heeling it up for entertainment value) into their sport.
He was just doing it for a reaction. The fact that some MMA fans got so upset about it shows that it worked, and also shows that those fans didn't understand what Brock was really doing -- manipulating the audience for a reaction. And he didn't even do it that much. But, since he's Brock, it's a capital offense.
See... when an established MMA fighter pulls that, they're usually just trying to rub it in. When Brock does it, he's more likely to be playing the villain on purpose, like Tito Ortiz used to (and people got five shades of pissed off at Tito, too... then they rewarded him by turning him into one of MMA's greatest PPV draws). That's one thing people forget/disregard... while he was a pro wrestler, Brock had many years of training on how to get the crowd riled up, even if it means playing a character, or mocking someone you might really respect, etc.

I just have a weird feeling about Lesnar. I think the reason he "wanted" the fight to go 15 minutes is because he was just going to tie the guy up so Herring could not get a submission on him like Mir did. Where Lesnar didn't see it coming at all.
My only gripe with the guy is he has been training for a year and I have seen no improvement at all. We already know he can take people down because he is a world class wrestler. And he should be able to keep them down because of his massive amount of muscle and experience. And from his very first fight in Japan we know his striking on a guy that is down is good. But since that fight he has made no improvement. Sure he learned if he holds a guy face down they can't submit him.
To me I just don't think Lesnar is dedicated to MMA. It is just a "thing to do" to keep his name out their and keep him relevant to people. One of the first submissions they teach you is the rear naked choke. And he had it so open to him and he did not even attempt it once. I have seen video of him training and all I see is him working on striking. So in a full year of training he has learned 0 submissions?

I think it's an exaggeration to say he hasn't shown any improvement at all. He still has a lot to learn, but he is clearly much better at positioning himself than he was when he handed Mir his leg on a silver platter earlier this year.
He may have opted to stay away from submissions entirely because he knew that as powerful as he is, Herring is simply light years ahead of him in submission fighting at this point. Lesnar knows he's still a novice at best when it comes to submissions, and he might have been afraid that if he started a submission battle -- even if he had superior position and strength -- Herring would eventually outsmart him. And Lesnar would have been justified in thinking that, because just about everyone was saying that very thing before the fight.
Lesnar knew he was strong enough to hurt Herring with fists, and he was a good enough wrestler to pin him down and beat on him. Why would be start a submission fight if he didn't have to, knowing he was going into deep water for no reason other than to prove he could?
