SCW Newswire #1: February 18th, 2009
- Earlier this afternoon, it was announced that Evan Pagano will go one-on-one with Matt Ryland in Osaka, Japan on the seventh of March. If Pagano successfully defends his title against Go Shiozaki on the twenty-eighth of February, the match will be for the SCW World Championship. - Mike Bison's SCW contract is set to expire in April 2009. As of right now, it looks like Bison will not be resigning with the company. Many people backstage believe that Bison is holding Zangief down to a great singles career with company. If these rumors are true, then it could be very possible that the Supremacy will be disbanding soon. - Al Bundy was released from his SCW contract, earlier today. Bundy was a member of the SCW roster, since early-2008. Now that the company has ICHIKAWA as their unofficial jobber, there was no point for them to hang onto Bundy. Unless he decides to retire, it is believed that Bundy will begin taking bookings for independent promotions soon. - It should be noted that Brad Durden's gimmick is a spoof of the character, Tyler Durden, from the popular book and movie, "Fight Club". Durden's finisher, "Project Mayhem", is also a major topic in both, the book and the movie. Durden currently holds a record of two wins and zero losses in SCW. - Antonio Inoki and Wes Hadley are reportedly trying to expand SCW's horizons even more. Aside from having an upcoming two-week tour to Osaka, Inoki is also looking to bring things over to the Kagoshima Arena in Kagoshima, Japan. The capacity of the Kagoshima Arena is just under five-thousand, so it would not be surprising if this deal went through.

I like the idea of moving SCW to Japan, since there is a much bigger fan base for non gimmick wrestling over there. It's cool to see some of the non SCW talent being used on the show, such as Morishima and Pac, and it will be interesting to see who else you bring in.

Haven't paid much attention to the latest SCW, tbh. Love the format as well on your' show. Main Event was pretty cool. Kinda wish Jake would've won the last match though. Didn't realize I was apart of this new one, awesome Liked the Danielson/Morishima segmant, very well written out dude. Can't wait for more, hopefully I will have a match on the next show.

Lookin' good man, can't wait.
Whoa, just noticed the new show, lol. Loved it of course, opener looked great. It'll definitely be fun to see Japan guys mixing with the SCW guys. Push Bockwinkel tbh. And my match seemed great. I don't know what will happen with the Sulpremecy now that Bison might go, I guess we'll wait and see.

Good show sad about you doing short results but at least your carrying it on, opening matches seem weried mostly Japanese workers, Fight Club guy seems to be getting a push rather someone else have the push, how could Steling win when hitting the cravate on Rodriguez? anyway glad your carrying on his push from last time, intresting with Punk and Cima wonder why you didn't just put Punk over, Daz is going well dragon kid nice!,Go going for the title I see, told you we would lose lol, Takeshi/Daniels needed more build up than the one build up promo, all in all good show not as good as last times (not just because we didn't win lol)
Retrospective looks good whats up with the multi man openings?, Carnage for belt? seems allright an't gonna get it, Mike/Namo why? should be Mike/Kenta judging by the show after, Evan will retain
I'll reply about the other cards in full when on the show before, good luck

It's a shame that you lost the detailed results for "Heavy Metal", but atleast you still got the show up. I like how you have the company in Japan, and bringing in some Japanese Superstars is great. The lack of Jordan Devine upsets me.

Seemed like a good show here, Kam. Wish Pac won his match, lol at the finishing move being a Kinniku Buster. Liked that Nikolaj drew with CIMA. Glad that Daz won the International title match. Seemed like a great tag match, Bockwinkel and Jacobs reminds me of New Age Outlaws. Great main event.

SCW "Retrospective" Full Results 2/28/2009; Osaka, JPN (Maishima Arena)
1) Justin Robinson defeated Spider with the "Cradle of Liberty" (8:15). First off, let me just say that the Osaka crowd is much less rowdy than the Tokyo fans. Moving on to the match analysis, Spider's beginning to become the Jigsaw of Sims Championship Wrestling. He's great in the ring, but doesn't exactly have the charisma or appearance of a big star to back it up. This was a solid opener to kick things off. **. 2) Chaz Classic, Dirk Sterling, Johnny Arsenic, and Safu Anoa'i (w/ Lou Glamsley) beat Aaron Wade, Danny Archer, and The Briscoe Brothers when Anoa'i crushed Archer with a Samoan drop (13:06). I still don't see why this match was booked in the first place. As expected, this one was a clusterf***, and arguably the worst bout of the night. Props to Aaron Wade, though, who seemed to be busting his ass off out there. *3/4. 3) Brad Durden defeated Ryo Guilin with a somersault corkscrew plancha (11:24). Fantastic match, showcasing some of the best work that I've ever seen from both men. In my eyes, both of these guys have a huge future with SCW. It should also be noted that despite being quiet the entire show, the crowd boo'd the crud out of Durden. ***1/2. 4) Naomichi Marufuji defeated Mike Bockwinkel (w/ Nick Jacobs) after he made him tap to "Max Pain" (9:47). This was a pretty good match. The Osaka crowd was really excited to be finally seeing Marufuji in action. After Marufuji made Bockwinkel tap, Jacobs ran into the ring, and began stomping on the former GHC Heavyweight Champion's head. Eventually, this led to a two-on-one assault by the tag-team champions, which resulted in a bloody temple for Marufuji. When the attack was over, Jacobs and Bockwinkel posed with their tag-team titles over the fallen body of Marufuji. Lots of heat for Bockwinkel and Jacobs. Beating up a crowd's favorite star is one way to become the biggest heel faction in a promotion. ***. 5) SCW International Championship - Daz defeated Kid Carnage with the "Dazaster" to retain his title (13:41). What a fun match. If pushed correctly, I really think that Kid Carnage could make a great main eventer. It's a shame that he hasn't really done much, ever since dropping the tag-team titles to the Red Assassins with Brock Irish. Also, the champion, Daz, looked just as great as always. His title reign's beginning to get a little stale, but that's just because he hasn't had a real contender for the belt yet. ***1/4. Third defense. -- Just moments before intermission break, Naomichi Marufuji was seen walking backstage on the titantron, holding a towel to his wounded forehead. In Japanese, he continuously began muttering to himself, "I want revenge". Suddenly, Ryo Guilin made his way out of the locker room door, and quickly came face-to-face with Marufuji. After looking at each other for a few seconds, Marufuji asked Guilin, "would you like to be my tag-team partner"? After hesitating for a few seconds, Guilin spoke up, "I want to beat them up, just as bad as you do". The two shook hands, as the screen faded to black, leaving the crowd in great excitement. -- 6) KENTA and Taiji Ishimori beat Mike Bison and Zangief after KENTA hit the "Go 2 Sleep" on Bison (15:53). Beautifully executed match, just passing Brad Durden's bout against Guilin from the beginning of the show, as far as star ratings go. After Bison accidentally jabbed Zangief in the face with a right hand, KENTA capitalized with his finisher on Mike to get the win. I haven't seen such a fast-paced match in a long time. In my eyes, your MOTN. ***3/4. 7) Jake Furrey defeated Anthony McCraver with the "Show Stolen" (12:39). Anthony McCraver didn't look like he wasn't showing much effort in this match. Then again, I can't say that I blame him for doing such a thing. The guy hasn't one a single match, ever since arriving SCW made the transition to Japan. It was easy to tell that Furrey was busting his balls to put on a good show for the fans, but McCraver's lack of drive prevented him from doing so. The crowd didn't seem to care much about this one at all. A disappointing semi-main event, to say the least. **1/2. 8) SCW World Championship - Evan Pagano defeated Go Shiozaki by count-out to retain his championship (19:08). This was a clean title defense that Pagano definately needed. As of late, Pagano's been winning a lot of his matches by cheating, and it didn't make him look like a very legit champion. The finish saw Shiozaki getting knocked off the ropes with a hard headbutt from Pagano. Go took a nice bump by slamming his head on the guardrail, leaving him knocked out on the outside from the impact. Definately a PPV-worthy match, if I don't say so myself. ***1/2. Fourth defense.

That was a great show, Kametsou. I'm glad Safu and company won, 2-0 now, but I'm sad it was the worst match of the night. KENTA/Ishimora was a good match, not MOTN, imo. The ending was great, though. Now, the main event, in my eyes, was the match of the night. It could have gone either way, and personally, I would have liked to see Go win the title. But, Pagano was fine. Only problem was the ending, I didn't like Go getting Ko'd. Overall, that was a great show, can't wait for the next.

Another good show, first 3 matches were nothing much but I can see Spider developing into a character now, still not feeling the guys in match 3 wouldn't mind a promo to see their chaarcter, sad to see such a clusterf***, In my eyes Wade is nothing without his tag partner, glad Namo wan and i see were your going, Kid Carnage going well just give him some deathmatch, this starts the beginning of the end of The Sup,Furrey getting the win is good after his loss, glad Evan got a clean win like you said
Next Card, Wade in a singles match meh, holy! 2nd match should be awsome, Devine retuning should be good and nice oppenent, Namo's team first challenge, all Japan match I see BXB winning, I don't see Kenta's team getting the win not yet, Safu back in top half of card but I see Furrey taking him out, would like to see Ryland win but I also want Evan to retain, he wouldn't win without anybuildup will he?
Keep this up, it gets even more intresting every time, good luck

SCW Newswire #2: March 5th, 2009
- Former SCW World Champion, Anthony McCraver, has been suspended from the company for thirty days. Following McCraver's match against Jake Furrey, he reportedly assaulted SCW owner, Wes Hadley, backstage. According to a numerous amount of sources backstage, McCraver has been notably angry with the current push that he's been recieving as a member of the SCW roster. It should be noted that if any other superstar were to have put their hands on Hadley, they would have probably been fired on the spot. However, McCraver is one of the company's biggest stars, and is far too much of a risk to lose to another promotion. The day after being suspended, McCraver explained that he was truly "sorry" for hitting Hadley, and that he "takes full responsibility for his actions". As of right now, McCraver is scheduled to return to Sims Championship Wrestling on Saturday, April 4th, 2008. - Mushiking Terry will make his long-awaited SCW debut on the twenty-first of March. As a sign of respect to Terry, Daz has voluntarily challenged the Japanese fan favorite to a match for his SCW International Championship. Daz is currently booked for a title defense against Doug Williams, the week before. With that being said, there is a fair chance that the belt could not be on the line when Daz takes on Mushiking Terry in his SCW debut. - Antonio Inoki has reportedly been talking with Jorge Rivera, in hopes to bring some of his trainees to both, New Japan Pro Wrestling, as well as Sims Championship Wrestling. It is very unlikely that Rivera will get rid of any of his students, since Toryumon Mexico has been desparately in need of young superstars lately. - According to the section, "Upcoming Events", on the official SCW website, the promotion will be heading down to the Kagoshima Arena in Kagoshima, Japan, for a one-week tour. Several big matches have already been announced for this event, including Evan Pagano defending his SCW World Championship against Jake Furrey, as well as Daz defending his SCW International Championship against Brad Durden. Obviously, SCW management wants to leave Kagoshima, feeling confident that they will be able to make a return to the city in the future. - Despite its headquarters already being located in Tokyo, Sims Championship Wrestling is looking to be booked at a new venue for a short-term tour. The Ariake Coliseum and Differ Ariake Arena names have been thrown around a few times, but nothing has been deemed official yet. - Ever since Antonio Inoki became head supervisor of Sims Championship Wrestling, the idea of bringing New Japan Pro Wrestling stars into SCW has been thrown around. However, Inoki has declared several times that these rumors are false, and at this time, a talent exchange between the two companies is completely out of question. - Brad Durden has four wins and zero losses in his SCW run, thus far. In upcoming weeks, he is scheduled to take on Aaron Wade, Jordan Devine, and the current-reigning SCW International Champion, Daz. If Daz can somehow manage to hang onto his title for another three weeks, then his match against Durden in Kagoshima will be for the SCW International Championship. It should be noted that Durden is currently being looked at as the future of Sims Championship Wrestling by many writers on the SCW creative team.
