Well, I can pretty well assume everyone knows that I have a match scheduled for the pay per view. That said, LET'S GET IT!

Really disappointed... all this time, people have been worried that Jones might have to pull out (because of his arrest/troubles) - and then it turns out Cormier has pulled out instead(!). You couldn't make it up. I thought Rumble was ready to fight in case Jones couldn't... did he not want the fight? I like the OSP fight - he's a dangerous guy - but it really shouldn't be for the interim title... same with the Aldo/McGregor fight at UFC 200 - everyone knows who the real champion is. It just seems like a marketing ploy more than anything... I suppose the interim title sounds better than an official number 1 contenders match. Rumble apparently had a dental procedure done within the past week (probably wisdom teeth) and isn't going to be able to put a mouthpiece in for another couple weeks. It is very much a marketing ploy for the eventual Jones/Cormier rematch. I'm going to refrain from giving my thoughts on the McGregor fight at this time.

As the title suggests guys, Daniel Cormier has been forced to withdraw from the scheduled UFC 197 headline vs. Jon Jones. This is a highly anticipated rematch from their first fight in January 2015 at UFC 182, where Jones won by unanimous decision. The nature of his injury is being disclosed as a foot injury, which could push the fight back to the summer, making for an even bigger fight.
In the meantime, Jones' opponent will be Ovince St. Preux, who is coming off a February win of over Rafael Feijao to get back on the winning track after a submission loss to Glover Teixeria last fall. Jones is ranked as the number 1 contender at 205 pounds with OSP checking in at number 6 according to UFC rankings (MMAJunkie has Jones ranked 1 while OSP is ranked 8). This will also be an Interim Title fight, with the Flyweight Title fight between Demetrious Johnson and Henry Cejudo still going on as the corner headliner.

While I expect Jones to win pretty easy, don't sleep on OSP. He has the size and athletic ability to match up with Jones. So much is made of Jones' ridiculous reach, but OSP comes in with an 81 inch reach (3.5 inch difference, lowest of a Jones opponent) and knockout power. That makes him a threat.
Thoughts?

You need to be inebriated to talk about llama penises? Amateurs. It probably helps makes the conversation a little less awkward.

On the plus side I did have a very fun conversation with Drakz when he was trashed the other night. I'm not gonna say I was entirely sober, but Drakz was on another level. I had a conversation with Bren like that recently. He was talking about llama penis stuff. No joke. I miss having completely tanked, random ass conversations. I now live vicariously through you guys. I couldn't even tell you the last time I had a drink (I think about two years), but I can say it's been almost four years since I smoked any weed.

Was torn. The Celtics are my team. Seeing them beat the Warriors is AMAZING. But I want the Warriors to break the record just because it'll be nice to have a new generation team hold that record. Meh. I'm with you Shawn, with my Suns bottoming out, I've taken a vested interest in the chase. Last night was a tight game, but last night Boston showed that Golden State has been playing sloppy recently and that they've managed to get by for the most part because of great shooting. Hopefully they tighten it up because I don't want to see them stumble at the last hurdle. Other thoughts from last night's game. Evan Turner has quietly become a very solid player in the league. He kinda got lost in the shuffle in Philly, and it's good to see him playing well. How in the hell did the league pass over Isiah Thomas in his draft. I heard Tirico say during the game that Thomas was the last pick of his draft. He is turning into a big time player and he is our gift to you Boston fans. Sullinger played well last night too. Boston could be a problem in the East. Solid depth, good players, and Brad Stevens is an excellent coach.

The guys hit most of my talking points, and already you'very shown to have a solid foundation. The presentation is a bit rough, but it's an easy fix with repition. I like the Wilber character, very out of the box type and that's good because we have so many guys that run a super serious character. I think you have more things to Wilber, and maybe the plan is to peel away those layers one at a time. Only you know that. But I like that you are providing us with a nice change of pace.
Just keep taking advice and using it to work on filling this character's potential out.

Trace and Brennan nailed my talking points bro, but like they both pointed out I love your attitude. You're coming in, you've been thrown in head first into the top storyline, and you're improving by taking the advice to heart. We can'talk ask for much more than that.
Your presentation is rough right now, but man you have a character and a story that you're telling that entices me. I'd say that and already catching a grasp of dialogue is your greatest strengths so far. Keep building on that. I'd really like to see you clean up the grammatical and I'd be willing to proofread stuff for you (you'd be helping me keep that skill sharp for my English students). But that's what's stopping you from really turning some heads around here.
Keep soaking in information, because improvements will come with time.

I'm not trying to be a dink - really, I'm not - but I can't even find it in me to give this one a fair shake. I've got no problem with a comedy based character - when the character's name, pic base, and general background is 100% lifted from a pretty well known source. This.

Trace and Brennan pretty much nailed my talking points bro, but I want to piggyback off something both of them pointed out. The scene with Jervis and Bison is pretty well written, though I noticed a change in tense during the action parts of the sequence. Not a big deal, a little bit more attention to those small things will fix that. Now if that was meant to be a scene from a couple days prior, then ok, no issue there.
They also pointed out that your rp is formulamatic (scene talking about the match, monologue addressing your opponent). A lot of guys still follow that formula with good success, but I want to know more about the character and I think that's what we've been missing in your work so far. Brandon doesn't strike me as a guy that's all business all the time. Best way to do that is to establish his relationships and its importance in his life.
Listen, you've got a lot of potential and have shown well in tough matches. You're taking a lot of initiative to get better and coming in with a good attitude, which really goes a long way. Keep up the good work man, because I think you have a very high ceilings and I want to see you reach it.

I think we can all agree that an appropriate length rp is one that tells whatever story needed in a way that the reader isn't going to get bored halfway through. The longest rp I've written for WFWF was I believe Myth of Sisyphus, which was around the 30 page mark. That was against Schneider, and the logic behind it was that an opponent of his caliber deserved a strong outing, not only in length but quality.
The big thing all of the vets are saying can be summed up like this: Make every word count. If you don't think it serves a purpose to the story, then scrap it and use it for another time that's more fitting. There's nothing wrong with setting yourself up for future work, and in fact it's a great way to ensure you always have material.

I'm tapping out for the night on the award show. I've been putting more attention on it than I should have been for the past day or so, which I tend to do with whatever hobby I'm most actively pursuing in times of strife. If time were any sort of friend to me, maybe I'd have a decent song or two under my belt, but I'm kind of a sh*tty songwriter. Kids, if there's someone out there in your life who's waiting on better days, go on over and be a friend to 'em. As you get older, you might have a tendency to distance yourself from the drag down sort of sh*t that you figure you don't need in your life, and a lot of times that comes with dumping some of the people who've crossed your path sometime down the road, but no matter what piss poor decisions they may have made in life, the moment they're gone, if not maybe a day or two later, if you've got any sort of good left in your heart, that sh*t's gonna hurt something fierce, man. I've wronged a couple of people in my life, and I felt the burn of that guilt something fierce when I finally pulled my head out of my ass, but man, stupid 18 year old sh*t like parading the whore you're calling a girlfriend at the time in front of the high school flame on her first visit back from college won't ever haunt you like the self doubt of wondering if something as arbitrary and seemingly pointless as a f*ckin' comment on Facebook could have saved a life. Seriously - we all know someone hurting in one manner of another. Call them up - it can be awkward and uncomfortable as all get out but I'd wager it's a whole lot easier than sitting in your easy chair sucking down coffee brandys wondering if this is somehow all your fault. That's deep Bren, but so true.

My guess is Golden State ties the record, 72-10 on the dot. It's hard to predict they'll lose 3 more games this year cause they've been so dominate but I just see them coming up JUST short and tying the record for whatever reason, just a feeling I guess. My buddy and I were talking about the record, and he believes they still have a chance because they are still ahead of the pace. Igoudala being hurt down the stretch hurts, as he has proven to be key in their rotation. It's astounding though, the sustained excellence they've shown, and it goes to further cement how special that 95-96 season was.

Man I got really into this storyline of the Warriors and their pursuit of the Bulls' record (since my Suns are bottoming out), but I'm thinking I need to stop watching them on TV. That's two games in a row (the other being against the Lakers) where they've been cold shooting the ball and sloppy-ish on the glass. Granted they showed that they are a resilient team that is never out of a game, but San Antonio just made big shots down the stretch.
What do you guys think, is 73 still possible?

Hi fellas, Not sure if this is done like this, but I'm just letting you all know that I won't be going any further with WFWF. I appreciate the support from all I've dealt with here, but I've got little (if any) interest in wrestling and I don't see that changing anytime soon. I think it's great there are new and returning members that are giving credence to bad guy™'s 'cattle drive' but sadly for me, despite being still new, this is just not my cup of tea, all told. I wish you all well, and if possible, could I ask for my character's bio and RP's to be deleted please. Thanks very much. Cheers, Reager. Hey bro, this isn't for everyone and that's ok. You at least gave it a try and showed to have a lot of talent and potential. Sad to see you go though. As far as your bio, Drakz or Rated R will move it to the alumni thread. It's been real man and I hope you stick around and participate in the General Discussion threads at least.

I used Chris Harris to start with, then realized what an idiot I was for not using Jimmy Jacobs. So then I used Jacobs, and haven't changed it since. Trace has also been 25 for a decade. Just pointing that one out. Ageless wonder.

It's no secret I'm an Eminem fan, I mean look at 80 percent of my ppv entrances. Anyway, my character rep for the majority of my fedding career (everywhere else besides here) was AJ Styles in early TNA. I can't even remember the guy's name, just that his username is One Love, but he had Styles for his rep when I came in. So obviously, being a new guy, had to go with another and I originally chose Johnny Devine (don't ask, 2007 was an interesting time as far my own looks with the long bleached blonde hair and yeah). Well I was sifting through trying to find a new rep because I got tired of Devine, and Styles was still out, so Eminem became my rep. Thankfully, I found a good rep to stick with in Rollins. Haha, I'm just playin'. I mentioned a few nights ago while slightly buzzed just a few of the AWFUL pic bases I've used. Since I'm on the subject, let's see if I can run the gamut from start to finish: Chalice (AFRWF): Corey Taylor (masked) Smash Rodriguez: F*cking Nomar Garciaparra Chris Avalon: Christ - Gerard Way, Mike McColgan, Johnny Rioux, Johnny Knoxville, and like Rob Zombie for 20 minutes Jason Vieira: remarkably, JV has only ever been Justin Credible David Brennan: Russell Crowe (Romper Stomper), Jason Statham ('cause it's hard to find hd pics of a guy in a movie from f*ckin' 1992 or whatever), Skinhead Rob Alston Daniel Kirkbride: Johnny Yong Bosch and Thomas Dekker. I've had some doozies. No worries, every character rep choice probably has an interesting reason behind it.

Every once in a while, if I find myself feeling a tinge guilty about my past transgressions around these parts, I go back and read the thread wherein bad guy™ is handed the keys to the city.
