Right. So maybe that machine costs a thousand or two thousand bucks. Still not super expensive. Maybe he doesn’t show his shop because it’s in Pakistan and he’s never really been there. Doesn’t mean it isn’t his. I don’t know and am not defending the guy. Just throwing out a possible scenario. Not even saying it’s probable. Who really knows. The same people who designed the chela toys retros just showed a Switchblade render but it doesn’t seem as though it’ll be being released in association with chella. Who are the designers? They have social accounts? Brian Tipping (EyecandyTattoo)

Covid and shipping can take a while; when I order from the U.S., receiving my package within three weeks is "fast" (and that was before covid!) Oh yeah that I understand completely, I was mostly just emailing them to figure out if my order was still good to go since I saw some people were refunded when the JB Toys deal started. I haven't seen that refund yet for me so I just was looking for confirmation/timeframe mostly. I don't mind waiting as long as I have to, just making sure everything is still good. When I ordered my 2 Nick Aldis figures I received another mail when it got shipped, that mail also had a UPS tracking-n°.

Hm, Chella was fairly quick when I emailed about where to order a product from them(24 hours) but after a week I still can't seem to get ahold of them on the status of my Aldis. Odd. I know I'm in the states so I will be waiting a little bit, but was just checking up to confirm my order was still all good. Belt plates aren't made from aluminum. They're made of brass or zinc and require a serious heavy duty CNC machine. Right. So maybe that machine costs a thousand or two thousand bucks. Still not super expensive. Maybe he doesn’t show his shop because it’s in Pakistan and he’s never really been there. Doesn’t mean it isn’t his. I don’t know and am not defending the guy. That I didn't see, but I saw concept art for the next Chella figure: "All Ego" Ethan Page!

Matt and Brian’s marketing strategy appears to be to target their most loyal fans who are willing to spend whatever it takes to get their merch. These are going to be limited and overpriced. Not saying it’s a bad strategy to have because it seems to work for them but personally it’s not worth the aggravation or the price. All these figures are being made by small companies so - yes - the price is understandably higher and the amount produced significally limited. I'd agree if you were talking about a limited figure by Jakks (One Warrior Nation Warrior, anyone?) or Mattel (1 of 1,000 figure); since those are just another repaint by a big company!

The Mattel Retros lacked that cartoonish style as well, but they're still fun. Yeah totally; don’t get me wrong - I’m all about anything in the hasbro/retro style! Hope Chella & Zombie are a success with these; just also hope that they are easily available and at a reasonable price. 🤞🏻 Since Chella and Zombie are smaller companies prices will be higher, then again; as an European I got my Mattel Retros for $15 - $25 so doesn't change much for me...

Yeah have to agree these aren’t ‘closest to the original hasbros’. They look great and the detail is superb, but more realistic and less caricature than hasbros. And I’ve hit to agree with another previous poster as well - I expect these to be very low in numbers and hard to get hold of. Shame, as they look good & would be cool to see who else they make.... Thanks for backing me up, man. I actually really enjoy their podcast -- but feel like you ahve to be honest both ways. As you said, it's less caricature and more realistic, which I personally don't like as much if they're supposed to be Hasbro style

Are they just manufactured there? Is jbtoys not designing the belts and planning the construction of them? Sourcing the materials etc? Almost every company outsources the actual manufacturing. He claims he 100% makes the belts and has a belt shop, CNC machine (super expensive piece of equipment), ect. For a dude who posts like 20X times a day with pics of his belts, ring-worn ring gear, cars and whatever else...it's really odd that he's NEVER posted a picture of his belt shop. I mean we know why, but still... So this is obviously my viewpoint, but I work in a creative field. Taking credit for something you claim to make, that you actually didn't, is plagiarism. Plain and simple. Double, Triple, Quadrupling down on the fact that you make something when it's clear as day you don't, shows a major character flaw. Blocking anyone the second they bring it up to cover up the truth is a major character flaw. Not only that, but it's basically an admission he's knows what he's doing is wrong. He could easily shut up "all the haters" if he were telling the truth and just post a picture of his belt shop. But he can't because it doesn't exist. So the only course of action he has is to block people, attack the source of discussion instead of disputing the actual allegations. The thing I worry about for some people...you notice his name is jbtoys1? That's because his first account, jbtoys, was perma-banned. His current account has been suspended multiple times. One of these days, he just might not come back and people will be SOL. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On a related note, I'm pumped to see Zombie Toy Sailor's new Cardona and Myers inspired Retros. ZTS's IG post mentioned more names to come, so maybe available wrestlers who want a retro figures can go with ZTS instead of Chella if Chella insist on using a con-artist as their main US distributor. Well a CNC Machine is NOT a super expensive piece of equipment; for around $500 one can buy one that cuts alluminum...

I only have Kanyon, he was the last WCW figure I bought in a local store. Never unboxed him.

Nice, without action they even fit in with the ones by Chella Toys. Also wrestlers that are in the RetroMania Wrestling game.

Ruby Fusion That’s an incredible deal! I’ve always wanted to see more pics of this ring. How does it compare to the LJN ring? It looks like a smaller scale version of it. Mainly because I lack display space, the ring stays MIB for now. The ring is about 12" x 12" and definitely based on the LJN ring. From what I've seen in pictures on the web, the stickers are already applied and the ropes are already attached to the ringposts; blue ropes, white ropes, red ropes - so the opposite of the usual red, white, blue.

Very cool, I remember those guys well! What I loved about them is they were similar articulation like Hasbro but modeled after the LJNs. At the time I didn't have any LJNs so these were cool to have. I think I found them in late 1991 at a dollar store. I never knew they had a ring. I wonder if any store even sold it considering most store carrying the toys didn't have a large wrestling selection. When I got into collecting toys to keep on the cards, I seeing these even in mid 1990s like 1995 or 1996. I think they were on different card backs than the original release. Lastly, it struck me as odd they had they had the mask wrestler. He looked cool but seemed out of place. There were a few other guys from the first LJN series they could have made. I also wonder the time period in which they were made. It seems odd for the company to base something off of guys from a few years ago. But then again we had the Hasbro knock off (Diesel proto era) in the late 90s or early 2000s. When I got them back then I only knew they weren't official figures. I liked the MOTU style. Much later I discovered these bootleggers copied the LJNs in a MOTU-style. They were lazy bootleggers as well; they copied the names from the knock-off line named Wrestler by Sungold. The knock-off line named Wrestler by Sungold were knock-offs of the Remco AWA figures: same articulation and those also had fabric vests, this line had two "masked" wrestlers one named Mask and the other named Mr. Unknown. In the Wrestling Champs line you had: Mark (Andre the Giant), A. Champ ("Superfly" Jimmy Snuka), CG (Hulk Hogan), Mask (the Iron Sheik), Brut (Big John Studd) and Mr. Unknown (I don't know why but he reminds me of the Missing Link, I see it as facepaint not as a mask).

As you may - or may not - know my very first wrestling figures were bootlegs, more specifically bootlegs called "Wrestling Champs" of Big John Studd and Hulk Hogan. Attachment DeletedI received these from my parents in 1990 (I think; if memory serves right I had already seen WWF Hasbros on WWF Superstars), I was around 15 years old already... Anyway, after years searching, I finally got the appropriate ring for them this week; so about 30 years later: Attachment DeletedAs a bonus I got it dirt cheap; usually these go at $65 - $75, I got it MIB for $30! Oh, Happy 2021 everyone!!!

I collect one of every different character, so it's the Hasbro six for me. I have all but Bart Gunn. It's four; Fatu and Roberts had other WWF/WWE figures. Roberts: LJN, Hasbro, Jakks & Mattel. Fatu: Hasbro, Jakks & Mattel.

So I've reached out to Chella to try and figure out the status of my order. I ordered day 1 or 2 here in the States. They refunded me the shipping difference when they found a "US distributor" a couple months back, but I've heard nothing since. I mentioned this to my fiancee who said she was going to pre-order the Meanie 2-Pack for my Birthday via this new distributor in the US. I was under the impression all things were good until I told her about my Aldis debacle today and she said the US distributor on Instagram (jbtoys) ghosted her after one message. Such a debacle. This guy, jbtoys, is already shady af to begin with (claims to be a belt maker, but it's pretty clear to everyone in the know, that he just re-sells Pakistan bootlegs). I just don't understand why they thought going with an Instagram account as their US distributor was a good idea. As someone who manages a relatively small custom belt business, I can operate out of my IG DMs. It's not ideal and occasionally I get behind on my messages. But potentially 100s of orders and no e-commerce site set up? You're just asking for trouble. Not a good start Chella. Well, there is a site, not just an Instagram account... However, the site is made with Shopify. In my neck of the woods we get warned to not buy from sites built with Shopify, as most are actually based in China trying to sell you stuff at prices that are too good to be true... Bodyslamclothing might've been an alternative for the US, but Aldis is sold out there.

The most silly question: "Fake?"
I mean I hope you realise they were made in China to begin with. The days that toys were actually made in the U.S. go back to the 1960s and even then Barbies and Hot Wheels were already made in Hong Kong...

Anyone get there’s from bodyslamclothing. I have a funny feeling that I’m gonna get screwed even though I paid in early August. I think these are just now being sent out. I ordered mine straight from Chella Toys a couple of days ago and received an e-mail to confirm my order has been shipped, even if on the Chella Toys site the figure still has following Estimated Shipping Date: Before Or By March 2021. Keep in mind: Chella Toys is UK based, they send it to bodyslamclothingclub, bodyslamclothingclub sends it to you. Also there's STILL the global covid situation...

The Hasbro-style will always be awesome! Is this really the Hasbro style though? It looks more like a cheap knock off. So you call the Mattel retros also cheap knock offs? Ofcourse since it's not by Hasbro it's a knock off. Quality wise it looks like a Mattel retro, not like a Mexican knock off.

Luckily I got Vader in a Mystery Micro Brawler Grab Bag (5 figs for $25.99) Then again, I don't actively collect them. I was on the fence for a long time before I finally dove into Brawlers. At the time I wasn't big into indie wrestling, so it seemed dumb to spend $25-30 hoping for Vader or Taz when I had no interest in the Bucks, Penta, Joey Ryan, and the other common Brawlers they were sending in the grab bag. Needless to say, I feel like an idiot now... Lol: I started with my first Mystery Micro Brawler Grab Bag in the hope of getting Penta, which I did! ... Well, I also hoped to get Marty Scurll, which I didn't get!
