Is there any way you could give us an idea of how Mattel is going to package the motu Andre the Giant? You did say he was going to be an oversized figure, and it seems that a lot of the normal size figures barely fit on the card/bubble as it is. Imo it's obvious some sort of change will be required for Andre with the packaging and fitting him into the cases.
Also, is there a time frame when we will start to see wave 7 in stores and/or moc proto pics?
Maybe SDCC timeframe for images if not sooner. That’s when you’ll see how Andre is packaged also.
Hey there Steve. Hope you are doing well. My question is this: if someone's gear changes colors, but logos/designs stay the same, does that help get figures out quicker? Asking because I'm a huge Edge fan and would love to see his WrestleMania 37 and Smackdown attire made
It’s not so much the deco but more new tooling vs no new tooling and do we want blow up work already in the pipeline to accommodate certain new looks. With constant content we have to evaluate this all the time.
Hey Steve. So we were told that Retros would return when the time was right. Well here we are! Can you explain as much as your allowed to do so what makes now the right time? Bill said the "nut" was cracked and was just wondering what hurdles you guys were able to overcome that allowed Retros to return. I think this would help collectors understand what is going to be different this time around and what to expect in the future. Thank you!
Bill is actually very conservative with his fandom of Asuka bleeding into work. She hasn’t even had that many figures.
If Sid and Adam have fig deals going forward, then very possible for both. I’d rather get an Elite Sid Justice in ring gear out before a jeans version though though but that’s just my preference.
Steve, I'm really curious why elite sid justice isnt this two in one figure. The sid vicious gear doesn't make sense if it is marketed as sid justice. Any background why that decision was made?
He was originally being developed as WCW Sid Vicious for a different wave. We were trying to think of a fun accessory and came up with the removable ref gear to make it a 2-in-1. We then had a quick lineup adjustment and needed to fill the SummerSlam slot so we decided to move Sid here but reverse the pack-out to make Sid Justice the focal point version.
I’ll be honest, we disagree on this making sense as it’s meant to be a 2-in-1 figure and from the feedback it seems like the majority of people are happy with this. I’m thinking you simply want a straight up Sid Justice. That’d be my next choice personally when it’s time to revisit Sid.
Any chance you can clarify if the flashback HHH has metallic paint? I know you said at one point you were working on it, but from the photos it looks like a standard base color.
And if not, is metallic paint really that much more costly? Not sure if that's something you can reveal, but it seems like it's used pretty infrequently in the line, while other figure lines at the price point are able to use metallics pretty regularly. Is it just a matter of design preference?
The plastic and color is metallic. It does seem to come across better on the red version though in this instance. There have actually been a few basics that have used metallic paint or plastic lately that look really nice like Toni Storm.
Is the Hulk Rules shirt coming with SvS Hogan cloth or plastic? If cloth will it be velcro in the front like the UE Hollywood, velcro in back like most, or a pullover like UE Austin? If plastic will it have that slit down the front like the previous Hogan figs?
Soft goods. I’m assuming rip/Velcro on the front. Haven’t seen a sample yet.
1. Being here and answering our questions. 2. Having the coolest scale sized life like articulated figures in the business! That is saying a lot! 3. By far the best wrestling line of all time ... the elites! 4. Showing cool reveals.
As a long time passionate collector who feels it is important to have recycled figures in different forms for both current and legends and New figures that air now. I also feel it is very important to get NEW first time in the lineup Legends! I know you are at WWE's mercy to sign ... but is there anything I can do as a collector to respectfully write them or encourage this? I'm not getting any younger and I truly hope Mattel can perform their magic on more WWE, WCW legends from the 70's, 80's and 90's.
I would almost consider Harley Race a first time in the line figure since it was so rare. Any hope for him again? I know you said you would like to ... but hoping he is still signed? Thank you again
Appreciate the kind words as always.
I’m not sure you writing WWE would help but thank you for the passion. They are working hard on managing their Legends roster and are aware the various talents requests. We’ve been chipping away at it and will continue to do so.
Seeing that the latest Royal Rumble wave is available for preorder on two major online retailers sites, has Target dropped the line? Is there a backstory to this wave that you can share?
I can’t really share much but keep in mind this is a fast moving business in challenging times. Sometimes plans have to be adjusted quickly. Target still fully supports this line and it’ll continue in 2022.
Great reveals as always ☺️ I’m so happy we’re getting SS Carmella, especially since we have the Charlotte and Becky from that match already.
Love the cloth entrance pants as well!
One thing I noticed is the paint deco on her chest doesn’t cover the mold so if you look at her collar bone area downwards she has noticeable skin colour straps. Is that just the one shown or will it be on the final figure?
Don’t know honestly. I’ve only seen those photos really like you guys. We have typically tried to match deco to the straps.
