Anyone seeing different things between the app and the website on a desktop computer? Should we be looking at one or the other or does it make a difference?

Lots of fun things and moments so far after two episodes. Easy to forget some of the wooden acting/dialogue because the soapy approach and the way Chucky is being implemented is a lot of fun. I can't believe this even exists haha

I get the disappointment but it didn't really phase me that it wasn't centered on young Tony and the marketing team behind the film really blew it in baiting and switching for a lot of people. I get the want for that for sure but was cool to see some history outside of it and really just focus on something new in Dickie and Harold, who I liked to see. As far as the character depictions, I could see that being disappointing too but honestly, what they DID do criminally in this movie was pretty brutal in the film and with Paulie being more laid back with what we saw, I still wasn't really bothered. Knowing the level of lying going on amongst wise guys that this movie and the series for that matter regularly pointed out I wouldn't be shocked if that's just more hot air from Tony himself. Also I know a lot of folks felt like some of these were more in line with SNL or something but for me they were pretty spot on, especially Livia and Junior. It's important to remember these were different people in a different time compared to what we know from the show, I think. Tony's depictions were great for me, though. Handing out ice cream with a stupid grin after committing a crime and being untouchable, throwing his speakers out the window - all things I could hear adult Tony in my head justifying as ok while he would call AJ a spoiled brat and give him loads of grief for doing the same. For sure one of the coolest things about it. The mundaneness and normalcy and Johnny's lack of presence, it all kind of made that connection to the show even deeper in that maybe this is just some 'pygmy' thing. That said I can forgive some of the continuity issues and plot/timeline problems and even some of the odd cinematography choices for the good stuff that came from it. Sorry, that taker figure is not a good figure at all, a unpainted elbow ain’t gonna change my mind about that taker Bigger point was people that aren’t bothered or happy can keep it to themselves instead of basically saying “$35 is nothing you peasants. I got mine. Be happy. Use my discount code…” I am not sure if you are directing this at me but I do not have a discount code

Just so it's clear I've said multiple times the criticism is justified and encouraged. Additional threads and entitled complaining is not. The entitled complaining? Lol seriously? I posted a picture. And you know what my title is spot on. The silence is deafening. I didn’t make any demands about refunds or replacements or anything. But the fact that you have a question thread that has been ignored for days clearly because he doesn’t want to touch this issue says a lot. And yeah the guy is constantly on social media interacting with it so I seriously doubt he hasn’t been on this board for days and isn’t aware. And what is with this idea that we all we should be so blessed that he’s selectively answering questions here we should never ever complain and just be thankful. He’s the head of marketing LMAO. This is his job. And he’s here because the last guy got his feelings hurt because somebody complained about a Sting figure that really did look like garbage. Seriously Mattel has some of the worst damage control I’ve ever seen. Actually it’s pretty much nonexistent. Look at the new gen arena. They pulled a rabbit out of the hat with macho man, but I would still grade their first campaign as a disaster from a PR standpoint. From the upfront charge to fixing it and then having it broken again and the weeks of silence that followed was completely inexcusable, as is this. That being said, I shouldn’t be surprised that you’re taking the stance you are. Lol you literally work for the company that’s one of their main retailers. So of course you’re going to be an apologist for them. I get that. I really do. But let’s not pretend this is not one of the most anticipated figures of all time and they dropped the ball with one of the dumbest possible errors ever. You say you don’t want to be that guy who resorts to the “Oh they’re just toys” defense. But that’s exactly what you’re doing. It’s the lamest most cop out defense ever. It is a telltale sign that you have thrown your arms up in the air and are stuck on an indefensible platform, so you have to belittle the entire community to bring them down to your standard as opposed to recognizing that consumers paying actual money have standards of their own that are not the lowest common denominator that the multibillion dollar company prays for so they can keep turning out garbage and selling it as gold. Again, I guess I can’t say I’m too surprised with your stance on it. What else would we expect from Ringside Tom LMAO. I don’t think Best Buy would appreciate one of their representatives bashing Apple products on camera in a Best Buy uniform on the job. But calling these threads entitled complaining? No way. This figure was too big of a release, too massive of a disappointment, and the mistake was too stupid of an error to have ever even happened. They should 100% answer for it. Hell even if their answer is to just say sorry but it got away from us in the factory and will make sure to correct it for upcoming Kane figures would be better than the ghost approach. Aaaaand cue the classic, but woefully unoriginal “too long didn’t read” meme. To whoever posts it, I’ll respond with my equally unoriginal soundbite… I LOOOOOOVVEEEE YOUUUU I mean you can't expect me not to have read all that! I'll always give you a response as long as the thread's still open. I'm not here to bring anyone down to anyone's 'standard'... I have a pretty high personal collecting standard with these lines and their history in particular. If you go back to the early days of the Mattel line and the late days of the Jakks lines when I started and later, any of the Ringside or Riot episodes, I was as vocal as I could be without looking like a complete a**hole just for the sake of being one knowing I was speaking to a wide audience that includes not just kids but people who are more casual. We never would have connected over the years like we have if I was just a constant, on-camera whiner. And trust me, I have some really strong opinions, even now, with how some details and things look from multiple companies. With that said, I'm just kind of trying to get people to chill and enjoy. Maybe I'm too old and have been through too many years of seeing people take hobbies in general in this new age of influencers so seriously I've softened up a bit and tried to just place a positive spin on the situation no matter how annoying. That's what I did in the other thread and that's what I'm doing here, but things have gotten repetitive and to the point where we got lots of sass going on. I gave my opinion on the fact that I think some folks are being over the top with their complaints and in doing so I should really probably specify in this type of situation, but I'm for sure not that guy trying to pick fights over action figures. Either way, I made those comments and make the ones in here without worrying about how that would look to this person or to that company so painting me as a shill of some kind doesn't really work. I get the frustration and I get the issues with pricing, which admittedly you could point an even more direct finger at me because I've paid less for wrestling figures than the average consumer. I am and always will have been in a pretty unique spot when it comes to this but the hobby end of it isn't really about the money to me and it has always been about being passionate about wrestling over collecting, honestly. In other words and with that said, I see where you and where everyone else are coming from. But sure, let's say I'm shining up an inexcusable consumer-collector situation instead of just trying to make light of it since it won't change in our foreseeable future. Even with that, some of the ways that people come in basically internet-shouting without a full, clear understanding of how the business side they aren't involved in even works at company representatives who, here 'doing their job' or just being fans, actually DO have a professional public image to adhere to, regardless of what you think of it, can be really over the top, no other way to slice it. It can also sometimes get flat out rude in addition and those types of things just completely screw up the privilege of having direct contact with a marketing manager or a designer or any number of folks from the companies who have come in and out over the years that we all know for a fact tons of other not just toy lines, but products and hobbies in general simply don't have. Like, the guys really don't have to be here, at all. They could just as easily never come back and just talk with a few specific collectors, or even worse just an unrepresentative focus group or something and guess what?! Some things like this would still happen the same way anyway. That's a big part of why I try to take a chilled out approach to this sometimes because the corporate aspect of this, I'm sorry to say, is larger than our nice slice of community life we enjoy together. I of all people that are part of this community absolutely don't want it to be like that, but it's the truth! Sometimes writing to people who work for those companies with a mutual, reasonable understanding/respect in that they can't necessarily go full in-depth with their answer instead of absolutely insisting on a point with frustration and anger (which actually happens a lot without being called out, just ignored) is a better approach to take. That kind of behavior is what I mean when I use the word 'entitled' and I'm not sure what else to call it because it definitely a lot of times can't even be called polite. If you don't want to be a polite person that's cool, but respecting the community so we can all use the line of communication, regardless of how good or terrible we think it is, really is fair to all of us and was the point I was trying to get across. The fact is until the days that everyone is just able to print their own perfect Kane figures down to the armpit hairs in the comfort of their own home which is still a long, long ways away, this is what we have. Which brings me back to my original point even jumping in here, how hard is it to keep the complaints in one place?! I do think this thread could have existed with the photo as a joke or something for all of us because lord knows I miss the Stang days, and we could have laughed and just kept it rolling. Instead, it just descends into madness so quickly over again, a bad inner-joint paint app on a $29.99 MSRP action figure as opposed to a major defect or something wildly off. Huge figure release, yeah, but it just doesn't seem to warrant all this attention in my opinion. I have mine, you have yours. Anyways, if anyone wants to give the harshest criticism you can think of like I said I am all for it. But first and foremost it's important to be respectful and cool about it directly to the individual you're asking questions of and second the loose, unwritten rules of courtesy and even some of the written ones say one thread at a time for a subject I believe so I was just trying to derail that before it went too far. Not criticize the main photo, which I actually liked. I might need to get a 'running change' tattoo after this.

If you're more adventurous I've suggested on the other thread, that I was fully aware existed, getting the same exact tone of acrylic paint and making the adjustment. i was looking for your post on this but didn't see it. or were you just being general? because im 100% willing to find the same tone of paint and want to know what exactly it is. haha Was just a general statement from me but knowing the depth of talent of the community and some of the fix-ups I've already seen, someone somewhere for sure knows!

It came across harsh. I could’ve worded that much differently But to your remarks, I don’t see it as entitled complaining. That seems a bit harsh. Retail prices just increased and many of us already paid a premium for this “premium” line and it’s a pretty big flaw. Mattel makes no money off of WWE stuff if people don’t buy it. People bought the stuff and they’re unhappy. We live in a speak up and speak out world. Fair. I could have been clearer on my usage of entitled but some of the responses here, and in other threads are getting out of hand. People bought stuff and they're unhappy but speaking up and speaking out can definitely go too far when it comes to a non-essential consumer good. Aside from that, I think my problem is more that it seems many people are continually acting as if this is falling upon deaf ears and that isn't the way to to do it, whether the response is what a person likes or not. I'd be more open to even harsher criticisms if it was contained but I haven't really seen anything like this in RSC history (in relation to at least what I've been around for) over something that is arguably not that significant.

If everyone promises to stop driving this issue into the ground and leaves Steve alone I can see if I can get it cleared to discuss this in the future but I don't see the benefit of this post at the moment The benefit is being aware. I know you are a business, but to continue selling the Kanes on your part is kinda well not very good when it's a known issue. People need to know what they are getting when they order an ultimate Kane. Technically, it should be recalled. And believe me, I've seen more stupid stuff being recalled as I work in retail. But I will not say anymore on this if that helps get something out of somebody from Mattel, it does not need to be Steve. I am fully aware. I was the first person to have these in hand and noticed it immediately. I haven't spoken to either of them directly but I'm sure Steve is aware, Bill is aware. No one is unaware and additional threads on top of the other massive thread just complaining about it doesn't make anyone, including me, more aware...just more annoyed. I'm not really about being called out on business ethics based on the paint app of what is ultimately a toy and this is a perfect example of why many times when these issues happen the responses aren't the ones you hope for. I've said many times I don't want to be the 'keep in mind these are child's play things' guy but this response pushes me in that direction for sure. Asking for a running change is maybe the idea you're looking to request, but recalls generally are reserved for things that break, that a kid could choke on, etc. They are not for detail issues that are causing fired up OCD or hurt feelings. I'd be happy with this being fixed as much as the next person but to say it shouldn't be sold (not just with us, but at mass retail eventually) because of something that most buyers really aren't going to care about when giving this to a kid to play with or even a collector to place on their shelf is beyond rationale. Not to mention the idea that there is a simple process for us shipping these back, getting completely re-manufactured replacements and sending them back out over the paint application on the inner-joint of an action figure shows the lack of understanding with how this works as that would be the first I've ever seen something like that happen after a decade in the toy business but feel free to point out some examples to me, maybe I'm just missing them. My suggestion if you're not interested in owning this one is to either hold out for a running change or skip it and wait for the next UE Kane. Maybe that one will have the sleeve filled in. If you're more adventurous I've suggested on the other thread, that I was fully aware existed, getting the same exact tone of acrylic paint and making the adjustment. Can't promise anything out of anyone from Mattel but I can promise I will look into seeing if we can talk about this next RSC presentation with the designers.

The first episode aired last night. I liked it for the most part but some parts were stupid. I also wish they would just release all the episodes at once like most shows do now. Binge watching is one of the major problems poisoning pop culture! Enjoy the wait man! The last time I even cared about something coming out with any sort of build or anticipation was Twin Peaks in 2017 and that was for sure because of it being a weekly series. Haven't watched this yet but I will tonight and will report back!
