Here are my thoughts on CM Punk getting fired: From day one of his arrival it seemed like some of the EVP's had it out for him (More the Bucks than Omega from what I've heard), after last years All Out Brawl Out all the individuals involved should have been sat down in a room together and forced by Tony Khan to iron things out. If Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels can go out and wrestle each other for an hour plus at Mania while hating each other to their cores then Tony Khan should have forced the Bucks to suck it up and do what is best for business. All In this year should have been CMFTR v The Elite in the Main Event. The backstage situation they created the year before made it the biggest match AEW should have promoted. There were some reports that CM Punk had his people reach out to bury the hatchet with the Elite only for the Young Bucks to lawyer up and not work towards creating a non-hostile work environment. (It appears that Omega was open to putting everything in the rear view mirror, but he was the only one). If Jack Perry was told multiple times to NOT use real glass in a spot as been reported, then the final word should have come from Tony Khan and not CM Punk as is being reported. Simply put Tony Khan is a half decent booker, but he really needs to man up and stop trying to be everyone's best friend backstage and be the boss. If he is simply unable to do so he needs to distance himself from the roster and hire someone (not in an active roster position) to be the be all end all when talents have disputes or want to do things that both unsafe for themselves and their opponents. Now if it comes out that Jack Perry told Hook he got permission to do the glass spot at All In and it wasn't priorly approved by someone backstage (things happen in the heat of the match) because the glass couldn't be gimmicked for safety and Jack Perry went ahead with the spot he should also be fired for not only putting his safety, but the safety of his opponent at risk. If you re-watch the Hook/Jack Perry match both men were cut by the glass, and if those cuts had happened just a few inches higher on their backs there is a chance they could have cut an artery and possibly bleed out on international television. Essentially the entire CM Punk run in AEW breaks down into several simple factors: 1 - It looks like the Young Bucks were jealous that AEW got it's first Million Plus rating because of CM Punk, not to mention the companies first $1M gate in history. 2 - Tony Khan is truly letting the inmates run the asylum, he needs to be a boss and not a friend to the talent on the roster.3 - CM Punk needs to grow a thick skin if he wants to continue in wrestling, he does need to let things go that don't matter.4 - The only people who should be in EVP positions can't also be on the active roster as it's complete conflict of interest, look at how guys with "Creative Control" have hurt other companies in the past 5 - The younger talents on the roster have got to start listening to the advice of the veterans backstage (several talents [Hangman Page for example] have on on the record saying they don't seek out or listen to advice from the veterans who are backstage) 6 - AEW needs to create a firm backstage structure so each and every talent knows exactly who has final say in all in ring decisions, especially if Tony Khan is incapable of making those kinds of decisions, and if someone goes against that person's decision they are suspended without pay for a minimum of 30 days, then 90 days and finally outright released from the company.I'd really hate for us to look back in say 5-10 years and say the CM Punk run in AEW was the beginning of the end. This is such a good post... especially the bits I've highlighted. It sounds as though Tony Khan is more to blame (than Punk) for this whole mess.

Well, I wasn't sure what you meant... most of the silver tag-titles are dull - even the ones with the UE Uso's. The discussion was about the classic tag belts (Beefcake specifically). To my knowledge, they have never made a dull version. Ah, my bad... I though it was about the current ones š¤¦āāļø.

I see almost no chance Punk signs with WWE. However, a legends deal would be awesome haha. Benefits both. need that e16 rereleased Yeah, that's probably the most iconic Punk look... add the world title too and it would make a great Defining Moments figure.

I think this works both ways... what about all these people suddenly buying a figure of someone, just because they've died? (you didn't want them before?). That UE12 figure and the Funhouse exclusive Bray had been on RSC forever... suddenly, they both sell out within hours. Yet these people are probably the same ones wondering why RSC are charging a couple of bucks extra for a new Bray figure...

Mattel has the answer to the "who wants what kind of Retros" question -- that would be the actual sales figures. I guess they will adjust accordingly, based on that. If they don't, I guess sales are probably even. I know I won't be picking up the next set - but if many others do, Mattel has no reason to mostly produce New Gen/Attitude Era talent That is true but I donāt think the negativity towards the next set is about the era, Iād love more 80s and early 90s but the talent choices are poor. The Hasbro Hogans are plentiful and far better than this one, nobody wanted an Ali and very few a Wendy. Ideally we would get talent who havenāt had retros before either by Mattel or Hasbro but I get that it depends on deals etc. If theyāre already running out of talent ideas then theyād be better pausing or reducing set numbers until they can sign some different talent. This just goes to show how people want different things in/from the line... I love the upcoming set with Ali and Richter (Ali in particular is an awesome Retro addition!). I also want/think there should be a mixture of guys that were in the Hasbro line, along with ones who haven't had Retros before. Especially main-eventers like Hogan, Macho, Andre etc. (not everyone has or collects the original Hasbros).

Thereās no need to crowdfund figures. What would the consumer be funding? An open preorder makes more sense for multipacks. What's the difference between an open pre-order and crowdfunding though? (genuine question). Don't they both need a certain number of orders/backers to make the item worthwhile and get it into production?

Steve has already said countless times, multi-figure packs wonāt be used as a crowdfund. He has. But never say never... especially given the rousing success of the Nitro stage.

Yeah, I've suggested this before - but we always get the same excuse of "crowdfunds should be for things we couldn't sell at retail" (...because we just see so many UE 5-packs/boxsets at retail... š).
Personally, I think there'd be much more interest for an exclusive set of figures than for giant stages and the like (which seem like a very niche market).

Itās great to see the feedback on this series. Based on what Iāve seen here, on Twitter and on Facebook, this might be the most positively received series of the entire line. Ironically, out of all 15 waves released to the point, itās probably in the bottom 2-3 of the sets that Iāve looked forward to. Certainly bought it, 2 actually, but for whatever reasonā¦ wasnāt out of my shoes excited. Now that I have them in hand, great set. Really well executed. Nowā¦ on to the next setā¦ Hogan, Studd, Richter and Ali. This IS a set Iām looking forward to. In fact, probably more than any wave except for Series 10. Ironically againā¦ feedback on the next wave is more mixed. LOL. Blows my mind because I think Hogan is incredible and Richter is really well done. Studd looks great and Ali, although somewhat fringe, is a cool addition. Just goes to show how tough of a task Mattel has keeping everyone happy. No clear avenue to satisfy all. Exactly... this thread proves it, lol. We all want different things from our Retro figures/collection, so they're never going to please everyone.

MSRP is the exact same for every figure produced from mattel. Rare or not rare. Ringside is not paying mattel 22.99 per figure they receive, they get a bulk discount. Ringside is just cashing in on their "overnight shipping" surcharge that mostly nobody cares for. Then donāt buy it from them. You guys get so worked up about nothing. Itās business. Itās capitalism. Go be disgusted about something that matters.More specifically RS is a niche hobby store. Thatās how they make money is knowing the market on figures. First time in the line more expensive than others. Figure that was sought after gets rereleased, more expensive. Best Buy could sell cds cheaper than other stores because they made money on appliances. RS isnāt selling fridgesā¦ š

The original release had dull plates, not that that means anything because they fixed the belt with WrestleMania 31 Rollins They made a dull silver plated tag belt? ?

I think a swamp Bray could work in the Ultimate Legends line. ...do you mean cult leader/Wyatt Family Bray? I'd actually prefer that as an UE over the forthcoming Pitch Black one.

No brainer, give me an ultimate upgrade for the entrance greats WrestleMania 12 Shawn Michaels. Throw in a belt and it's perfect I've been saying this for ages! People have been picking all sorts of random Shawn looks for UE treatment, but for me the main/iconic look is WM12. And before someone says "but it's already been done 3 times"... so had the Fan Takeover UE Warrior, lol. And besides, the only time Shawn's WM12 entrance gear has been released was on his (Basic) Entrance Great figureover 12 years ago. We need this Shawn as an UE before any others.

I do think character selection has been... interesting lately, to say the least. Nothing against the wrestlers/figures - but with Orton, Lashley and Bianca, I can see a lot of discounts coming up soon...

Also - i feel they are hurting the elites and legends sales - people want the top lines, and its almost like they need to go all in with the ultimates or focus on elites. Yeah... I have read/seen quite a few people say they are only buying Ultimates now. I'm mainly buying UE too... the only Elites I buy these days are ones that haven't had an UE figure (eg. Million $ Man, Mr Perfect) or are completely different eras from their UE figure (eg. Legends Edge).
