Is basic Ali ref gear or boxing gear? Since its a WM-themed set, its likely WM 1 Ali, which sucks. Echoing statements from others in this thread, I ordered the SDCC set for the uniqueness of the referee Ali. I really don't get the Ali-Basic complaints. I mean, ref Ali is Ali's only WWF look... we all knew it was a 99% given that it would turn up in either the Basic or Elite line, sooner or later. It just happens to be sooner (like his forthcoming Retro too)... for all we know, they might only have his licence for a short-term deal. Anyway, the SDCC figure still has the unique/Ultimate articulation - and awesome packaging. I wonder if people would be so bothered by this new Basic if the SDCC set had sold-out in minutes? We'd probably be hearing "I'm so pleased the ref Ali is getting a Basic release", lol. π€·ββοΈ

It's a plastic toy in a part plastic box. I don't get this virtue signalling from companies such as Lego, and Mattel - it's ruining a lot of the appeal of their product. All the new packaging is rubbish for MOC guys like me, and I'll be less inclined to buy and display because of it . That's exactly what it is... big companies that want to be seen as if they're trying to help the planet and make a difference. That is (of course) until their profits drop and people stop buying the figures... then it's "yeah, f#!k that - back to plastic packaging" π.

If it makes anyone in the US feel better, we have tons of Walmarts all across Canada and we don't even get the RA Elites at all... We're probably going to get shafted when it comes to the MNW line as well. Regardless, a line of this caliber shouldn't even been exclusive. Should be available to everyone. They need to go to store exclusive variants rather then handicapping a whole entire line. π

So these are the only reveals for August? π€ I think the packaging looks like a downgrade. Definitely looks cheaper. Next package change will just be a cardboard box with the wrestlers name hand-written on the front... you heard it here first!! π₯΄

Well said. If I wasn't a moc collector I wouldn't care too much, but these just don't look very good imo. Iβm just saying in general, ppl here are never happy. And the packaging is fine other than it being too small for Andre. How many figures are you going to see in the legends line that are Andreβs size? Not many if anymore after Andre It's "acceptable" (ie. better than window-less boxes), but I wouldn't say it's fine: the windows are too small and the positioning of Andre and Sheik are poor, to say the least. At the moment, it's 2-2 - but I'm not optimistic for future figures. Really wish they could have kept the Legends packaging the same though - the packaging for Series 11-20 was so much better π.

all this packaging ends up in my recycle bin. as long as i can see the figure before i buy it, i truly dont care what the box looks like. that being said, this is fine. except Andre looks ridiculous because he's too big for it. ...the plastic window is just too small - if the inner-card bit (especially the huge bit covering Andre's head) was also plastic, it would all look so much better... (for all the figures).

I dig the new Legends packaging. Hogan, Andre, & Jimmy all look great in there but Iron Sheik's face is kinda blocked by the Legends logo. After this series, is positioning of figures something that will be worked on going forward? ...and piggy-backing off this - why are Basics (the least collectible line) unaffected by the reduction in plastic? If it's a different type of plastic, can't it be used on Elites and Legends too?

A couple of things... 1. Why are Basics - the least collectible line - unaffected by this lack of plastic in the packaging? (...if it's a different kind of plastic, why on earth not use that for the packaging of Elites and Legends too?) 2. The way the figures sit inside the packaging is all over the place, lol (like with the new Elites). Some look OK, but some look terrible. And it seems such a schoolboy error/easy fix for most - ...I mean, put Sheik to the other side with his right arm in the air!!! It would look so much better π€¦ββοΈ.

πππ It's a great figure - but the way they've posed/put him in the package is shocking... They really have to keep the figures in the middle of the window-box.

Would you be OK with getting Scott in tag team form, but no Rick? Honestly, if it came right down to it, Iβd prefer one over none. If that happened, I wouldn't. Let's say they release only Scott in tag team form - by the time they eventually release Rick (if they release him), the technology would probably evolve and they would probably need to release the same Scott again anyways (if he was still signed). Id rather have more single run Scott Steiners. If we don't see the Steiners as a tag team by next WM, then they are probably on hold. When they announced them at the end of 2022, it sounded like they were going full steam ahead. I don't see why they haven't been slotted for the Legends line yet so I'm getting worried (that has been revealed through the first half of 2024). I'm thinking we might see early '90s/tag-team Steiners in Ultimate Edition S21 or 22...

I have been charged $156 for 2 sets shipped to the uk. Theyβre $60 each ($120) but my subtotal shows $145.28 then the shipping is 11.08. π€ It sounds as though you're getting charged the UK prices: Β£59 each, plus Β£9 shipping.

Smyths not getting Rick Steiner from E24 and Greg Valentine from the next Legends set...SIGH. I know... it's an absolute joke. How on earth can they pass on a FTITL Steiner!? They didn't get Brother Love (the only one I wanted) from Legends 19 either. Nor Mr America from E101(!)... SMH π€¦ββοΈ

I'm just wondering is it something to do with his legend contract that doesn't allow for figures, we've seen Mean Gene a few times and he's the most popular ring announcer of all time, would love if Matte could find a spot for him. Just found he was mad back in 2017What was he mad about? (...I'll get me coat... π€)

That's really cool (...how did you get hold of it?). I got it from a guy who directed the whole original legends line packaging. All the artwork was outsourced to an agency back then. Great stuff! Did they get 'round to actually making the Series 7 cardbacks? (I think it was Magnum, Andre, Austin, and DDP)

Maybe they meant the new look legends packaging inspired by the OG packaging? It was shown at the Mattel panel. Either way super happy for OMG in the line. I actually own the original unreleased cardback from Series 5 so always hoped to display him next to this one day! That's really cool (...how did you get hold of it?).

Is this a realistic possibility still? Just echoing this... or an Elite 3-pack (like the Hogan or Foley ones) of Funhouse Bray, Muscle-man Bray, and The Fiend(?)
