Tonight at college I went to a party in an on campus apartment. There was drinking involved, but none of it was by me. I am still under 21 and some people were over 21. A police officer came and asked for the names of everyone in the room. I gave my name but didn't show my ID.
Theorethically, I don't think I should get in any trouble because it wasn't my apartment and I wasn't drinking.

Well if you made it to somewhere with a computer to post this, I doubt you're getting in trouble.
How can they prove you were drinking or not now?

I believe they'd have too proove you were drinking. However being at a party with beer when your underage is stupid.

Although he was at the party, and it was stupid of him to go with drinking invloved he did not drink so it's okay. All though if you were drinking you would faee a fine and maybe a night in jail.

its like saying anybody can go to a bar whhere theres drinking and nobody gets thrown out or goes to jail, obviously the owner would go to jail because there was a underaged guy in the bar, in this case since the owner was the guy hosting the party he wouldn't have known and the underaged party would go to jail and get a 80 dollar fine.

Technically, the responsible party is the person whose house it is as well. If I provide alcohol to a minor, or create an environment where they can get it, that is illegal. Also, if anyone drove after drinking, the guy could get in trouble for that as well.

Its gona be v hard and v time consuming to disiplin (sp) every person there, itl probably be all on the person who owns the apartment. i know its not the same but a buddy of mine decided it would be a great idea to go for a drive in his mums car when he was 15. He crashed into some women and the police came and there where 5 of my friends in the car. Only the driver got in trouble even tho they took all the details of every person there so yeah the cause of the trouble is the one the authority will be after,i really wouldnt worry.

Unless they go by the "guilty by association" rule, I wouldn't worry about it.

Yes you are going to get in trouble and spend the rest of your life in jail.
You should have RKOed the cop.

The only time I've seen anyone get in trouble over drinking at a party was the oldest guy who was supplying the liquor to what was mainly an underage party.
Since you're under 21 I wouldn't worry about it, if they were going to do something they would have done it there.

You can't get in any trouble. You weren't drinking. And obviously the cop wasn't suspicious of you, otherwise he would've used a breath test.

When I was 20, I was at a show with two of my friends who were both 19 at the time. Apparently, at some point during the night, and undercover cop came by and caught 8 kids outside drinking. More cops were called, and in the end, everyone in the room who was under 21 was brought to jail, guilty or not.
Pick your battles. Avoid parties like that.
