Barry only went to Manchester City because of the money and like TheLfcFan said, I'm glad he didn't go to Anfield, because Alonso is better than Barry - and if he wanted CL football then why Man City?

Blues have broken a club transfer record to snap up one of the hottest prospects in world football - Ecuador striker Christian Benitez. The club beat off competition from top European clubs to land the services of Benitez on a three-year-deal. An undisclosed fee has been agreed with Mexican club Santos Laguna and personal terms completed with the player, who will travel to England for a medical next week. www.bcfc.comlets just see if we will stay up

Kaka £73.5m and £195k a week. Sensational if it's Chelsea, ruining football if it's City

Bentley is quality just never worked out for him, the other 3 are pish. What has that got to do with anything anyways? We're talking about two clubs who are ruining football with millions and millions to just throw at players. Come back when you attract another top player.. except Robinho

Forgot to mention that I wouldn't really classify Tal Ben-Haim, Craig Bellamy & Jo as quality either.

Fair enough, but still nowhere near as bad as KP Boateng or Bentley.
But Bridge is possibly the worst player I have ever seen at Left back. And I am not taking abuse from a United 'fan' from Essex.

Boateng won't cut it in the Premiership, he's clumsy and think he's better then he is. As for Bentley we all saw how good he was at Blackburn, the big money move got to him and thinking he's a superstar.

If people in Essex were not allowed to support Man Utd, their shirts should not be sold there.

Come back when you attract another top player.. except Robinho Fair enough, City kinda went over the top with £30mil+ for Robinho who isn't worth half that imo, but I don't hear Man Utd being mentioned who spend £10mil on players for their reserve team, and £30.75 for a lazy crap like Berbatov. Juande Ramos is a legend for squeezing that much out of Man Utd for him.

Levy do you mean? The same man who waited so long for United to up the Berbatov price that he severely ed up his own teams season.

I'd hardly consider 8th place a ' up' of a season. Sure we didn't get Europa League but that would just be a hassle next season anyways.

The Mirror is reporting that Frazier Campbell, Danny Simpson and Darron Gibson have all been put on the transfer list.
Would prefer it if Gibson stayed tbh.

Yh, Gibson is solid, I definitely would not sell him. The other two have competition for places and could do with moving to get consistent playing time.

You had an unbelievably bad first half of the season all stemming from Levy holding out then ending up with second rate crape like Pavlychenko to replace him and a striker who was playing above his level in Campbell. If you'd have got a good replacement in quicker who know's what could've happened. And yeh, course United were ripped off.

Isn't it like an extra 19 games a season?
