This movie was a steaming pile of poop in my opinion, easily the worst of Marvel's major releases besides Spider-Man 3 and Elektra. Both those movies ruled, are atleast I thought they did

I seriously don't get the hate for this movie. I thought it was awesome. It could or could not be because of my major man crush on Robert Downey Jr. I mean, what were you all expecting? I thought it really helped set up for the Avengers as well. Sam Jackson was very good as nick fury. exactly.folks who are comparing this to Elektra etc confuse the crape outta me.

I want an Ironman movie, not a ing buildup the The Avengers. I want the focus where it should be, not one giant "NEXT TIME FOLKS" that I get from this. As to why I hated Ironman 2: - first act one one of the most nauseating, uncinematic things I've seen. And POV shots as Tony meets people for five minutes isn't funny. - Tony's daddy issues lead absolutely nowhere. - Whiplash had about five scenes of brief dialogue, mostly consisting of "You lose" and no character development whatsoever. - unmercifully non-stop ing awful shots of Johanson's face after she takes someone out. The only decent scene of action in the film due to incredible fight choreography and camera angles ruined continuously by "by the way every time I do this I'm so badasssssssssss" - unmerciful banter. nonstop. - cliche rooftop ending where you can see the city behind everyone and with a "get a roof" on top - race track battle consists of more banter and "comedic" antics when it should be trying for sincere threat with no joke. - Jon Favreau including himself in multiple scenes, including mugging for a fight scene. I wanted to vomit in someones popcorn. - Justin Hammer was nothing more than a "serious" version of Tom Cruises character in Tropic Thunder. Good actor playing the role, however. - one of the most boring, uninteresting second acts in recent memory. a complete ing mess. And hey guys, did you know there's going to be an Avengers movie coming out soon? - drunken battle with Tony vs. Rhodes is the most jaw-droppingly awful fight sequence in years with the music downright nailing its coffin Don Cheadle was absolutely ing BORING. Terrence Howard at least had a spark and energy he brought to the character, and when he said "Next time, baby!" (as eye-rolling as that was in IM1) you actually felt how excited he was. Here's Cheadle's performance "Hm... well, okay. I guess." - Whiplash battle officially goes down as the lamest, shortest, most uninspired showdown in any recent comic book film to date. I don't know how you up Mickey Rourke in an iron suite slinging electron-whips, like not have it be one of the most intense, badass confrontations ever, but they did. it couldn't have been more cheap. - Peppers moving desk weight was the most entertaining thing in the film I give the movie 4.5/10. Not my cup of tea. I've lost hope for Thor and Captain America now. Bring on Green Lantern

I saw it Friday, and I pretty much agreed 100% with what Deadshot said about it. But I just saw it again today and lowered my expectations way lower then they were before and really enjoyed it the second time. I still think it could of been much, much better for everybody who was in it. I think they were trying to fit too many storylines into one movie. Still, I love how Starks character is coming along. I thought the video from his father was outstanding. Really looking forward to the next Iron Man, Thor and Avengers.

So it had tie ins to future movies. so what get over yourself, your not a damn movie critic. Terrance Howard's only bright role was playing a thug rapper in Hustle and Flow. Justin Hammer is a comic character and was portrayed awesomely in this movie. Maybe you should read the comics before you diss on the COMIC BOOK MOVIE. Also in comic books Tony Stark is a plain out ass, he does the wise cracking jokes whenever possible so you bitching about that is like asking for a whole new Tony Stark based off what you think he should be. Whiplash isn't much of a fighter either, he is more a thinker and that is how he was portrayed in the movie. He did the most damage with his mind and ideas and not with his electric whips. If you gonna bitch about a comic book movie at least make sure you know how the comic books go before you rant.

I really liked the tie ins for Avengers because they did what they were supposed to do, make me excited for a movie that doesn't even come out for another 2 years.

So those two guys in the room with him hung themselves? Jeez... stop trying to sound like an elitist comic nerd, it just makes you look, well... nerdy.

Really? So those two guys in the room with him hung themselves? Jeez... stop trying to sound like an elitist comic nerd, it just makes you look, well... nerdy. an elitist comic nerd? It is based off comic book characters. Yes, Whiplash can fight but in comics does more with his ideas/tinkering of things. It's like if you go watch a bio on Hitler you probably wanna see how Hitler actually acted (according to documents and reports) not some guy who dances around singing songs about how happy everyone is. Same think with any movie that is based of something such as a person/book/tv series/etc. To say he didn't like it is fine but to say they portrayed the characters wrong is completely false. There is a big difference in those two statements.

I liked it. Not as good as the first, but this one felt more like a second act to a bigger story.

exactly what i expected, good film lots of action and witty banter (which personifies the stark character) 2 complainted Don Cheadle - He was absolutley awful and flat, I think his oceans 11 character had energy more built for this film then what he pulled off. I called that ahead of time though and didn't expect to get anything special out of him, but I can't fully blame him, he was trying to take on a character that he didnt create by an actor nothing like himself. On a related note that money hungry bastard Terrance Howard for forcing Marvel and Favreau to recast. Not enough Whiplash, I think two scenes of him in the suit at the racetrack would have been more suited then just that one and the final scene, I know he isn't that type of character but that scene at the racetrack was so badass I just wanted to see more of him in that outfit.

Saw this last night. It was good, but not great. I think it was more of a lunchbag letdown for me. The beginning was fantastic as was the Monaco scene but in the middle it was so diologue heavy that it got boring at times. There wasn't as much action as one would expect from Iron Man 2. The last bit was also really good but again I felt cheated out of a potentially awesome fight scene between Iron Man, War Machine and Whiplash. I was fully expecting it to go on for at least a couple of minutes and it just kind of ended before it really took off. Very anticlimactic, however I did enjoy all of the Avenger references and I keep hearing about how Scarlett's role as Black Widow didn't add anything but I totally disagree. I think she was great and I'm looking forward to her role in The Avengers.
With all of that said the movie was still good and the action scenes (when there were some) were great and the overall story was well done. I just felt like there should have been at least two more action bumps in the movie. I give it a solid 7/10.

I loved Iron Man 2, I saw it opening morning and felt this wasn't BETTER than the first one, which is a modern classic comic book film, but I did feel this certainly was on the same level. The humor, plot, and action is all there and the acting sucked me in. Robert Downey, Jr. again deserves a Best Actor nod, he's just that damn good as Tony Stark (I know it sounds weird, but that role was taylor made for him).
I'm going to see the film again tonight to see if it holds up. The only other time I ever saw a film twice in the theaters was Spider-Man 3, so I guess that tells me something lol.
