Alot of people were unsure about Mattel when they came out, but i think the general consensus is they are pretty awesome... i'm also sure that many people stopped collecting at the end of Jakks.. So has there been a single figure that brought you back to collecting? You are correct, when Jakks lost the license I flatlined collecting as Jakks quality when to $*¡+ towards the end with the oversized heads. For me it was DM Randy Savage that got me back into collecting. I always liked his attire from WMVII so it was a must for me personally. The one thing I did not like was the gap between the back of the legs & trunks of the figures, other than this I was impressed all around.

Basic 8 Maryse. I originally intended to make a custom Lady Gaga out of it but decided not to. I used to have a couple of Jakks figures when I was about 8 but I foolishly gave them away to charity when I had to get rid of a lot of toys in my old basement

I took a break towards the end of the CS line since they started releasing a bunch of repaints. The first Mattel I picked up was entrants great hhh on clearance, then I found L1 on clearance for 3.72 and picked up Ricky, scsa, dusty and sarge. I havebeen hooked since that day

zack ryder b10 watching zack ryders true long island iced z and he displayed his zack figures and i think he got the basic one and was using it, then i liked it.So i went to to toys r us the first day and it was there but had no money, and surprisingly it was still there the next day and bought it. my first mattel but then i sold it for some dumb reason but then all was fine when i found the elite at kmart, still miss the basic.

I could never really get into Jakks. Then I saw Bruiser Brody, I thought it was an unusual choice. I haven't stopped collecting wrestling since,

Elite 1 CM Punk.
I didn't even collect the bulk of the Jakks line really, not anything that came after TTL. I grabbed a few HBK figures, Diesel, Razor, a few other CS figures but I hadn't bought more than 3 or 4 wrestling figures a year since the BCA days. However, I saw that Mattel was taking over and headed out to Kmart to see what all the hype was about and now I have a full blown addiction. 1 CM Punk figure turned into a bookshelf full of sh**. I have no regrets.

The series 1 Elite line sparked my interest from the beginning. I think I grabbed Taker and Mysterio and then shortly after, series 2 hit the shelves locally so I picked up HHH and most of the others from series 1 and 2.

My WWE collecting slowed down because of the dip in Jakks' quality, but once I got my hands on Elite 1 Undertaker and Rey Mysterio, I was hooked. This ^^

I stopped collecting wrestling figures back in the TTL days.
I always liked the look of Jakks Classics figs, but never bought any.
Mattel got me hook, line & sinker w/ Big Boss Man.

The figure that got me into Mattel was the Elite Ryder.
I was a mark for the early WOO WOO WOO guy, and was ecstatic that they actually made him with one legged tights. That in combination with the early Daniel Bryan figures (target belt pack) thrust me into the world of Mattel collecting.

I was buying Jakks until a few months before the line was discontinued. I wasn't sure if I wanted to start over completely with Mattel or not. I bought most of Basic series 1 and all of Two pack series 1 as a trial basis.
And the one that really sold me on Mattel was the Two pack Santino. From head to toe I thought it was perfect. And within a month I had bought just about anything I could find.
Except the Morrison/Miz set. Their scans were so bad I couldn't bring myself to do it. And believe it or not it almost scared me away completely. Glad it didn't cause I love my collection.

Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, and Hornswoggle last year on a figure hunting day brought me into collecting Mattel. As of today I have easily 100 figs now. I still collect a few jakks ones here and there like Natural Disasters, The Berzerker, Bought Ric Flair for the head scan to make a custom mattel flair and ill buy any Jakks managers, referees, company owners (i.e Vince mcMahon, Teddy Long etc) But im more into Mattel elites than any other. Like I said ill only buy a Jakks if i really want it and figure Mattel will never make it or won't make it for at least a long time like The Berzerker

I had mostly stopped collecting Jakks around 2006 (Outside of buying 2or 3 figs in 2007) I resisted buying Mattels for years, including passing up on a lot of figures I'm kicking myself over now. What eventually dragged me back was the Savage/Punk Battle Pack. Now I have a small collection of only guys I really want.
