Alot of people were unsure about Mattel when they came out, but i think the general consensus is they are pretty awesome... i'm also sure that many people stopped collecting at the end of Jakks..
So has there been a single figure that brought you back to collecting or a figure that you have brought despite not 'collecting' anymore
For me i havent yet... but there one figure that i may have to get, the Debut Undertaker figure.
So what about you?

The figure that got me in to collecting Mattel was the Basic 1 Bourne or Kofi Kingston

For years now, since I am in my early teens, I have been collecting DC Direct figures, AND opening them. Then, I got back into wrestling, and bought the Jeff Hardy PPV Series 20. Now back to your question, The Ultimate Warrior has always been one of my favourites. When I saw the figure, I was like SHIIITTT! I wanted a Jakks figure, but they are expensive these days! NOW THAT there Mattel, THEY look friken better bro! So yep, it was The Warrior. CNT WAIT! Buying one to open, and one to display.

The first Micro Aggression playset. Then Build & Brawl Undertaker got me into it a little more.
Mattel got me back into collecting the full-size figures again, but no one figure in particular. The first time we saw the painted prototype images I was in love with the whole line.

when i first saw unpainted protos of the mattel line i thought they looked wierd and i wasn't going to collect again but after seeing the actual superstars on tv and what not i realized that the figs were very realistic looking and after seeing painted protos i was hooked no one particular figure got me to collect mattel, but one of my favorites when i saw the first protos was the elite rey mysterio, it was the first mattel i got and i just fell in love it the rest of the line

Original, I bought Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels as a "sampler pack". Jericho was on fire at the time, and one of my all time favorites, alongside HBK. I planned to see how they handled, detail, etc. and cut off at that, making them my only two Mattel figures ever.
Bought them. They were ok, but not doing anything significant for me. About a months, maybe 40-45 days later. I started eyeballing Elite CM Punk and Taker at Wal-Mart.
I held them side by side and realized CM Punk was tiny compared to Taker. I fought for about a week, and ended up cracking and buying them both.
So Elite 1 CM Punk and Undertaker are what technically did it for me, but it was mostly for the scale.

My WWE collecting slowed down because of the dip in Jakks' quality, but once I got my hands on Elite 1 Undertaker, Rey Mysterio and EG Rey & HHH, I was hooked.

I pulled a nice transition smoothly from Jakks to Mattel. As soon as December 29th hit and i found my first Mattels, it was more or less "Jakks who". I was iffy when the protos were shown but when the figs began to show up. I knew I was in for the long haul. At this point, I have nearly every fig, loose and MOC.

RA1 John Cena brought me back after TTL lost me. My Mattel collection only consists of 2 figures, one of which I am selling, although I am looking forward to buying a WM Drew Macintyre, Ultimate Warrior and any Elite John Cena.

(hope this isn't too off topic) I never stopped but I haven't had that joy of collecting since 2007. Now after seeing pics of Mattel at the SDCC, my days of buying Jakks figures are slowly fading. The figure that really has got me to ENJOY collecting is Macho Man. I am not just tempted to get him I am tempted to get more Mattel figures as all I have now are Elite 3 Cena and HBK. For some of you that know me know I am a jakks die hard BUT I have really enjoyed what I saw with the comic con pics.

No one figure got me into collecting Mattel, is was more just the fact that all of them were so good. But, what got me collecting, an I mean REALLY collecting figures, was a few years ago when I saw Classic Superstars Ric Flair in the red robe with the WHC. I loved the figure, and my dad had told me how great Flair was, and now, at 15, I'm collecting stronger than ever. The difference between me and alot of people though, is that I really only want one of each guy. Then I'll sell the one that I like the least. Which is why I'm gonna sell alot of my Jakks figures really soon.

When I saw the protos for Mattel I was mad I thought they were gunna suck because they werent same size as jakks...So anyways I had decided I would buy like the first series and then stop just so I had some mattel to say I atleast gave it a shot, but after seeing the mysterio next to big show I was hooked Jakks really screwed up the sizes but I never paid much attention cause we didn't have much of a choice. I also like that the Elite and /Basic are same size and that a cruiserweight is not the same height at HHH...... ;D

I will never sell all of my Jakks figs as theres a lot of guys I really like that mattel wont make like AJ Styles, Sting, Hogan, Flair etc. (and no I do not with TNA would die so they can get made by mattel as I love TNA more than WWE)
