I don't think any year is going to be the Cubbies year. At least not soon.
Am I the only one torn on whether the Phils should resign Werth? On the one hand, he's the only right handed bat in the lineup basically. On the other hand, Domonic Brown should be able to do a capable job in RF and you could platoon Ibanez/Francisco in LF.

I wonder where Werth will wind up? If Crawford doesn't land with the Red Sox or Angels, does he become their plan B?

Did anybody see Tim Lincecum looking high out of his mind on Sportscenter last night? It was the interview where they had him back on the field sitting down, later at night.
They even asked him "what do you think is going on in San Francisco right now?"
His response: "I hope there's a lot of beer flowing and... smoke in the air"
I can just see it now, ownership is saying: "Sure Tim, you just won the World Series, you can smoke a bowl... we'll send somebody down to Texas's locker room to get some..."
So now, does this mean that Pot has defeated Heroine, Cocaine, Crack AND Ginger-ale!?!
I was sure about the others... but I never thought I'd see it defeat Ginger-ale.

Angels or the Sox will get one of the Werth/Crawford duo.
I think the Sox will go bananas on Crawford, see what his interest is, see if he wants to play in LAA, then move on really quick. Gonna be a fast strike on Crawford.
Detroit will be involved with Crawford

World Series ratings are in. Shockingly it matched the all time low for the Phillies/Rays series. That was another series with teams who hadn't yet built up a bandwagon base of followers.

Cliff Lee please. I think Crawford goes to the Angels or Red Sox and Werth goes to the other. V-Mart goes to Detroit.

Again, who cares about the ratings?

Sox news so far:
Re-signed INF Omar Vizquel to a one-year, $1.75 million contract. Exercised C Ramon Castro's $1.2 million option for 2011. Exercised LHP Matt Thornton's $3 million option for 2011.
Nothing ground breaking, but Vizquel will be worth it, he's gelled nicely with everyone, and I think he's been great for Alexei. Thornton is one of the best middle relievers when he's right, so its a good move. Castro is whatever..he was servicable this year, so who cares i guess
Biggest issue is still obviously Paulie. I know it was a contract year, but at 34 yrs. old, that was such an impressive year by any means. Hopefully the two sides can come to an agreement and a 2-3 year deal possibly.
A.J. is a question too. I know they have Flowers waiting in the wings, but i'm not entirely sold on the kid. However, I don't really know if A.J. is the right answer. His at bat stats seem to get worse every year. V-Mart would be awesome if it happened, but I'm not gunna get my hopes up.

If you remove the Yankees from the equation, baseball is the most regional sport there is. If you are not a fan of either team, you probably wont watch.

The Yankees outrighted Chad Gaudin and Royce Ring; Gaudin elected for free agency.
I, for one, hope Chad Gaudin is not brought back. We had too many long relievers in our bullpen and Gaudin was really ineffective. With Ring, he wasn't anything special.

Still not sure what happened last night actually happened. Renteria MVP lol You can't write this stuff.
I still love how this team after losing 7 straight was 41-40 on July 4th, 4th in the west and 7.5 games back of the lead. Then they went on a tear winning 21-6 coming within 1 game of the Padres only to collapse for a second time in August with their starting pitching going winless in 15 straight games. That's how awful they looked, even their pitching stinked, but then they had one of the most impressive pitching months of any staff ever setting records for runs allowed and because of that and a 10 game choke job by the Padres, they were able to clinch...ON THE LAST DAY OF THE SEASON!! Seriously, you can't write this crap.
What's really weird about it all, is that they kind of kicked the Rangers ass. Out of 162 games they probably played 140 nail biters, but in the WS where you would expect it to be tight, it never once felt like they were going lose.
I love this team.

I have to admit it might be the best baseball championship I've seen in quite some time.
