that logo looks really ugly. i'm glad that was canned at least. Agreed. As for the return to the '90s films, I don't think we'll see that movie that picks up where those left off. If Nolan's movies run their course, we may be stuck with another re-boot of the franchise. No one's going to pick up on where Batman & Robin left off... ...(just remembered "Superman Returns," haha...maybe someone will pick up where "Batman Returns" left off?)

Like many have said, I would love to see ClayFace in a Batfilm But, asfar as it goes for when Nolan's done, I see us getting another Batfilm fairly quickly, cause they it works, and they already have people interested, they'd be stupid not to

It's bittersweet. Even though I wish I could have seen a Batman 5 as a child...I think about how if that had happened, maybe Nolan's Batman's wouldn't come to fruition. Even if Batman Triumphant was made, I honestly think the franchise was damaged so badly by Batman & Robin that no matter what they did it would still be a failure.

I could see another series of Batman films down the line..but I think we're talking years from now I really am interested in how they would bring back the Joker after his massive plunge to death. It would be neat to see how they would write that. If they do make another movie after Nolan is done, I'd absolutely see it. I'm a bat-fan through and through no matter how good, bad, or horrible the films could be. Grayson was a movie I always wanted to see be made...I'm a big Robin fan, shame we won't see him in Nolan's universe Well the Joker was supposed to return as a hallucination through Scarecrows fear induced toxin. I think that's a very good way to have him return. That would be awesome! I hate how Scarecrow was just tossed to the side in TDK....I wish he would've just been a sort of menace on the side for Batman throughout the series...who knows, maybe he'll make an appearance in the 3rd!

Jack returning as Joker would have been epic.he was said to have been interested as well.
after all he did get paid nearly 60 million for being Joker in 89.through his deal for a cut of the gross and hgis merchandising rights.
I think he still holds a record to do with that actually......

Yea, like I said in the original post, he wanted to return for a while, like a good few years, but if he had returned, I would have loved it, I mean really, this needs to be made, but tbh, I see the comic adaption of The Dark Knight Returns after Nolan's stuff, which kinda is similar to this in a way, well, old Batman versus older Joker

I thought I'd post some other tidbits from the other films for anyone that cares Batman Returns; It was originally supposed to be a direct sequel, and happening just after 89 ended, with pieces of the Batplane for sale and stuff. Also, the character Max Shreck was actually to be Harvey Dent, with the ending being Harvey flipping his coin in a limo, and it coming up the 'good' side, so he drives off, which IMO would have been insane, actuall, another ending that was thought of was that when Shreck gets kissed/shocked at the end, with Shreck being Dent, that would have caused the scaring of Dent and created Two-Face. And the last real info that's fact is that the original ending was the Bat-signal flickering on and off, and its believed that this was indeed filmed, with the being in the BR comic, and the whole Catwomen thing being rushed, atleast I believe it had to have been filmed. Batman Forever; Now, this is easily the craziest film in the original Batman franchise, its the most talked about, or should be, the original time was 2hrs 40mins, thats 50 extra minutes for sake, include the deleted scenes from the SE DVD, sure, that makes up what, 5, maybe 7 minutes, this film needs to be released as a Directors cut, it has to be, there's just so much thats left to imagination, the rumors are crazy for this film. Now, I'm sure everyone knows about the whole 'Man-Bat' thing, and it being Bruce's inpiration for Batman, but for years, it was believed that it was indeed Man-Bat, and that Bruce was fightng him, until Dick returned and switched off the hologram, which was the Bat. Then, the end, originally it was Batman and Robin jumping off a building into the screen with the Bat-signal behind them in the sky. And now, the craziest thing I've ever heard; Supposedly, after the credits, there was a scene of Batman and Robin running into a Museum going after Mr Freeze, a 'To Be Continued' screen then appeared Now, I'm pretty sure that that never happened, but tbh, there's 50mins of lost footage, and really, we never know, there may have been something along those lines that was filmed

have heard that the DC of Batman Forever would be a much better movie.
and what about Marlon Wayans being hired to play Robin in Returns?he even went through costuming for the 5 minute cameo he had in Returns.it was Burtons intention to fully introduce him in Forever but when the sipt was rewritten and Schumacher was hired they went a different way.
he was paid in full for both movies though.obviously less for Returns but starring role wages for Forever.
I also find it interesting that Anette Benning was cast as Catwoman but backed out when she became pregnant.she was the overwhelming favorite of Burton and the Studio.
Burgess Meredith was cast as the Penguins father as a nice nod but backed out due to illness.also Schreck was intended to be the Penguins older brother.
God I love Batman 89 and Returns.love talking about them.

God I love Batman 89 and Returns.love talking about them. I thought that was common knowledge, but here's something people may have not seen, what Robin would have looked like in the original Returns film (the Treasure Hunt, with the ending in the Zoo written by Sam Hamm); About the first script, which included the above Robin in a more central role; - The storming of Wayne Manor (from BF) was supposed to happen in this film, with Shreck sending in the Red Trangle Gang to take out Bruce, I'm guessing after the meeting where Bruce 'sasses' Shreck -The film ended with Catwomen commiting suicide -Harvey Dent was also in it, however due to me not reading the entire script, I don't know to what capacity -Robin was more central, even going as far as being in the final battle, however like above, I don't know if he was Robin or still the mechanic he was originally -From what I can understand, Penguin is killed via a plague of Bats Here's the script for anyone caring, I actually think I may print it out myself, seems very interesting www.dailyscript.com/scripts/batman-returns_unproduced.htmlI gotta agree with Joker, the first series of Batfilms, to me are far more intriging and interesting than Nolan's stuff

This movie sounds rather interesting and I think I would have enjoyed it. Shame it was never made.

^ I had that Robin as a kid. Didn't realize at the time how accurate to the comics it was, looked just like Tim Drake's costume (although I may remember the packaging saying this was Dick Grayson, so I could be wrong).
I'm not sure how they'd have gone if Marlon Wayans had been Robin. To me, Burton's Batman didn't need a Robin.
I had heard the rumor in Returns about Harvey being in it, and about the scarring taking place in the end via Catwoman's shock.
As for Forever, all the lost footage would be great to see. I'd be curious to see it, since that movie is probably my least favorite out of the four. Perhaps seeing it as originally intended would make it better for me?
One day, I'd like to make a video of the old school Batman toys I have - many of which from Returns.

Interesting read Big Ross Man thanks for posting Thanks, I am so interested in this kinda stuff, the original 4 films were so special and history making, they all have a unique and different story behind each one, like, well, the first one, doesn anyone else ever wonder what the original ending was gonna be? Because, if you don't know, the battle in the BellTower was added half way through shooting, which just has me thinking of how the hell it was originally to end, appearantly, both Vicki and Knox were to die

Because, if you don't know, the battle in the BellTower was added half way through shooting, which just has me thinking of how the hell it was originally to end, appearantly, both Vicki and Knox were to die According to Sam Hamm, the third act in the movie was totally different than originally written. Supposedly, Knox was supposed to have died in the parade. Joker was supposed to have killed Vicki, sending Batman into a rage, which would have then killed Joker. Also, there was supposed to have been a car chase at some point that led into a circus tent, where the Flying Graysons were performing. The parents were going to die in that scene, allegedly. Lastly, Jack Napier was never supposed to have been the guy who killed Bruce's parents. He fought against that idea, but the studio won. This stuff is all talked about on the 2-disc special features of the '89 Movie. There are even storyboards for the Grayson scene. The storyboards even feature Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill's voice acting during the scene. Pretty cool, actually!

Wow, didn't know a lot of that info. I loved the first 3 Batman films when I was a kid/teen. I can't figure out why I don't own them on DVD.

Question for any educated Batman fans:
Is it possible to build an actual working "Bat Signal" light?
The Idea came to me a little while ago and I started scouring youtube vids of an actual one or something.
How can anyone that can call themselves a millionaire and richer not own one if it was real?

Well, I guess you could use a search light, but with a Bat logo on the lense to show a Bat-signal Plus, Hagger, I have the DVD, infact I have them all, lol, great documentary's, but yea, I just wonder what it would have been like, in what setting
