Mattel has said on more then one occasion
"are goal is to eventually make everyone on the roster"
with that said. they then said
"We have no plans to do Husky Harris, Trent Baretta, or Curt Hawkins, due to the lack of TV Time"
so if they want to eventually make everyone on the roster, should they not worry so much about TV Time, I am pretty sure that Hawkins, Harris, and Trent would sell, if they were 1 per case and not all in the same assortment.
unless Mattel is just changing their tune now

Mattel was like a new girlfriend a year and a half ago. They said things to us to make us fall in love with them and at first it seemed real. They were doing awesome. Now, a year and a half later, things change. We see they aren't really into it anymore and are just making the figures that they can now, instead of making everyone. It happens.
I guess it makes sense for Harris to not be made, since he isn't on TV anymore and hasn't been since January. But Hawkins and Trent should be made. There is no reason for them not to be.

^^^^ I love the new girlfriend analogy Yeah, they did a 180, I'm assuming it happened once they saw they weren't hitting certain numbers with certain guys. Now their tune is, we will make everyone who has significant TV time. It is what it is imo, from a business standpoint it doesn't make a ton of sense for them to make guys that the average consumer won't know. On the other side, as a selfish fan and collector, give me Trent ing Barreta! I still think a guy like Barreta could move with relative ease if he was short packed the same way Ryder was in B10. I get it though if it isn't worth it to them, it just sucks.

Husky is gone now, so I get that. But Trent has matches all the time on WWE PROGRAMMING whether on TV or on their website. SO are they saying we will never see another up to date Tyson Kidd because all his stuff is on NXT or Superstars?

I think over time they will make them. Let's not forget they take 8 months to a year to make. I am sure they have started a few and had to scrap them for lack of tv time and what not. Mattel does not want figures sitting on the shelves. If 2 figures sit in a store they see them as not selling, stores don't order as much, then the collector(consumer) and Mattel hurt for lack of product being out.

Ugh this thread again? Mattel aren't making them because they'll just be wasting money. If they're not on tv, how are the kids and casual fans supposed to know who they are when they see the figures on the shelf, that's right they won't so they won't buy them

I think we need to think logically here...they wanna make everybody...everybody who is ON TV and is relevant to the brand...husky Harris, Barrera, Hawkins, I never see these guys on tv, I recall barretta a month ago for a squash match... that's like asking why won't they make a colt cabana figure...I mean he was at ringside at MITB ppv and all lol

If Yoshi Tatsu gets an Elite figure and a Basic figure.... Curt Hawkins and Trent Baretta should also get a figure.
I mean really, when is the last time Yoshi was on RAW or Smackdown? Baretta has been on there just as much as Yoshi Tatsu.
..and Chris Masters has a figure too?
They have made 2 Primo figures... I barely remember what that guy looks like. lol.
I'm not complaining... it just doesn't make sense.

This is a case of the ol' Mattel doublespeak. They say one thing one day, then turn around and say the opposite later on. That said, knowing their track record (having followed their Masters of the Universe Classics line) having them say that now certainly doesn't rule out any of those guys getting made. Guys like Yoshi Tatsu and Chris Masters have figures, these guys could get figures too.

So Mattel has betrayed us, because we don't have Husky Harris, Trent Baretta or Curt Hawkins? Dear Lord...lol

If they're not on tv, how are the kids and casual fans supposed to know who they are when they see the figures on the shelf, that's right they won't so they won't buy them that is a very lame answer. Knox, Hurricane, Primo, Masters, Yoshi all got figures. and are barely ever on TV, and none of them were shelf warmers. yet Dibiase was all over TV and his figure sat on the shelves, same with the Hornswoggle/Finaly two pack. Case in point. and its not so much about Hawkins or baretta. its more about Tyler Reks, he was all over PPV's and TV last fall. and his figure is not in their radar. so that TV analogy is BS. Gail Kim, Alicia Fox, Tamina, The Bella Twins. Michael Cole. and Harris and Henning were all over tv last fall. and they out right said harris is not getting a figure. its more or less. they talk a good talk. but dont back up their actions oh and their distribution sucks

Most of them will eventually be released. They are probably waiting to release them so that they don't run out of somebody new to release.

MATTEL and WWE are in the BUSINESS to make MONEY. They make PRODUCTS for us to BUY. If we don't buy said products. There's other people who will. If we are happy with the product then that's just a bonus for us.

If they're not on tv, how are the kids and casual fans supposed to know who they are when they see the figures on the shelf, that's right they won't so they won't buy them That logic really doesn't work. 1) Papa Shango (and the rest of the "Legends") gets absolutely ZERO TV time, but Mattel are still making a figure because they know serious wrestling fans want it...like they want Barreta and Hawkins. 2) Rhodes and DiBiase get loads of TV time, then their figures sit around warming pegs for months. 3) Ryder spends more time on YouTube than on WWE TV, but his figures were really hard to find, due to people buying them.

No, not at all. They said something like they would like to get to the whole roster eventually. So it sounds like they WANT to make everyone, but if the WWE doesn't want to OK someone then they can't do it. So no that's contradicting themselves. And let's face it the average fan is going to know them if they aren't on TV so they'd pass on them. And you just proved your own point. Legends - Adult based line that isn't selling at retail so it went to Matty Collectors exclusive. Heritage figures are also geared for more adult collectors and will be just 1 or 2 per case. Rhodes & DiBiase - Aren't fan favorites so the kids aren't buying them so they are pegwarming. Both Ryder figures were shortpacked 1 per case, because he's not on TV and I've seen the Basic 10 Figure at least 20 times at retail. And I found the Elite 9 figure the one time I saw them at retail. So if he was more than 1 per case he'd be a major pegwarmer.

Simple answer:
If it were worth it for Mattel to make a certain figure, then they would make them.

Its smart business. Someone like Trent Baretta is very very very very rarely on TV...He's not going to sell well. I wouldnt make him either.

Well, I started collecting when I was a kid. I never cared about fan Favorites. Why do i need 10 Cenas and Mysterios? I always got new ones I didnt have to keep my roster growing. Didn't matter if I knew who they were.
